I'd like to see her get into films-play some really meaty roles like a psychological/suspense/thriller..not comic relief or someone's wife! she deserves a big break. I'm not sure what she'd do on TV, she's stated she doesnt want to do another sitcom, maybe some other type of drama?

I've said it before, but I'd love for her to take Diane Neal's role in Law and Order SVU next year. I need her in my tv every week, and the only way I'm not going to be angry at the L&O people for firing Diane is if they bring in Maura. The show also shoots in New York, and she seems to prefer it over Los Angeles, so yeah it's a win-win for both of us.

I would love to see her in a really good horror movie. Not a 'slash and dash' type. (friday the 13th comes to mind) but a good psychological suspense film.

How about this one....a weekly 'dramedy':
A NYC Catholic girls' prep school must merge with a Catholic boys' prep school for financial reasons...featuring Maura Tierney as a 'new school/ former student' Guidance Counselor trying to maintain balance between the kids and the old school very conservative nun and priest running the place.
I am not Catholic but I think I would like to write this one. Could see lots of fun with the premise.

Okay....here's another one....weekly 'dramedy':
Featuring Maura Tierney as a fiesty, down to earth social worker who deals with disrupted families and foster care/adoption placements. Frustrations abound with legal ramifications getting in the way of what's best for kids. Maybe a 'Judging Amy' from the other side of the bench??? And of course there would have to be the random police offcer/social worker guy to provide romantic relief.

I think it's high time she's the star of a serious drama film. It was with that thought that I began a short story, imagining her as the lead...hopefully to turn into something longer.
As for television, I'd rather see her in a new series than join an existing. Something dramatic, preferably, but no more medical/legal - a new sort of role. Perhaps something along the lines as a "villain" who isn't quite a villain (think roles like Weaver, DA Renee Walcott from "Crossing Jordan," or Dr. Cox on "Scrubs").

Drama isn't really pulling in the viewers at the multiplex, are they?? Sad. Sticking with the smaller, indie flicks would bode her well if she is looking for that type of film. Unfortuantely inane slick comedies are selling the tickets around here....and she has been part of two of those.

Drama isn't really pulling in the viewers at the multiplex, are they?? Iron Man had $100 million in it's opening week, IN IT'S OPENING WEEK much more people go for dramas and action movies
