once again, based on what we've seen in the public domain, i don't think goran would leave the show so long as maura is there, especially in the wake of a divorce, vulnerability, etc. he seems to care for her enough to stay on if only out of respect...but thats just my take, as usual. and once again, if he IS going to go, i don't want to know until the season is over. it would just ruin everything.

LOL...hmmm....I don't think that GV would make a serious career decision based on Maura's personal life...friends or not. He is an actor after all, with family and a wife in Croatia. If he renews his contract it will be because the $$$ is right and the working conditions are in his favor.

yes, i'm very aware that goran has a wife and that he isn't going to base his decision on maura. i was trying to stay positive about it...if that wasn't already apparent, i'd suggested we just try to calm down about this or at least stick it on the spoilers board. people seemed to be a little distraught, so i was just theorizing (which i stated). i didn't mean to imply, either, that goran would stay just to spend time with maura, i was trying to point out that it would be a difficult transition if he left, given the current instability that the show faces in casting. it would be hard for the whole ensemble to lose another main character, and i don't know if the show would survive it. i think he's probably got that in mind, as well. i guess it didn't come out quite as i meant it, i posted that sometime in the middle of the night, so my mind and the keyboard didn't quite connect as i'd hoped.
anyway, i'll stay out of it henceforth.

Good thinking, Maggie. It would be nice if we knew that Goran had the best interests of the show in mind as well as the best interests of his career. I don't doubt that ER has given all of it's top stars a lucrative future....if they invest it right. I would miss Goran terribly if he left...but then I said the same about Clooney and Anthony Edwards. (who?) We are lucky that ER tends to evolve into something new with each casting loss. The loss I have not been able to get over is that of Sherry Stringfield. I still miss Susan....and her hair.

Maggie, I'm with you 100% - I don't hink Goran will actually leave, I think this is something he is considering in case he gets a much better project, but in the end I don't think he'll leave. He wasn't this convincing on the E inerview. No I'm sorry he convinced me when he said "I'll be around". I do think Maura can convince him to stay and I think she will or at least TBT, aniway, they can't afford to loose him now. It could be that he's wife is bugging him to leave, (she must feel weird that she doesn't see him as much as his co-stars). My brother thinks it's a way of putting mistery to the show's future. He thinks either Goran's publicist or people from the show have told Goran to say that just to add mistery to the show's fuure and have people talk about it. (he thinks maybe this is the Cliffhanger). I don't know what o think of his oppinion

I hope your right Lubbybaby. It really is killing me waiting to see if Goran signs for another Season or not. I think ER itself will lose a lot of fans if he chooses to go. Plus do they really want to loose such influential character at such a critical time in the shows history. I think not.
Not me i hasten to add I'm here till the end.
So i say to to those people, show Goran the money, persude the guy to stay, show him the golden carrott.
Im talking c**p now i better go....

Hi there folks, I read through this and I want to put in my two cents. I can't watch the video that has been posted with Gorans interview and I am new to the show and things that have been said in other interviews to this point. So, is there any more evidence, interviews etc that might nail down all those suspicions? The thing is that, apart form the very short time I watch ER, I don't trust TBTB. I have zapped into ER so many times the last years and I was always surprised at how they could turn things around for the 100th time and kill off main characters, destroy relationships and so on. With what we (Enterprise fans) have been trough with the KillerBees (Berman and Braga the exec. Producers) I can tell you one thing. TBTB are not interested in loyal fans like us on this forum for example. They do believe that loyal fans stay that..loyal even if they do real bad things. And they do these real bad things to keep the show "interesting" and to atract new viewers. I have gone through seeing my favourit character die a very very mindless death and he was the all time favourit character of that show But back on topic. I honestly think that it would be very very stupid of Goran to leave the show. It is a save income. You never know how much you are labled after playing such a character for years and you never know how your carreer will turn out after you leave. I have see it on so many shows. Most of the actors who left have not been able to get their face to show up on another show or movie. Save to say that Clooney did it but that, to me was just good luck. I know that Goran is a wonderful actor but talent is not what Hollywood is interested in, not even good looks seem to help. Also, if I was one of the producers, I would pay him anything he wants. As some here have pointed out already he is the driving force of the show right now as long as Stamos or anyone else won't take that away. To come to a conclusion regarding the interview and the speculations that arise from it. I do agree with many of you, that this was a calculated move of the producers to keep the show interesting. Now one more thing let me quote this here: Hmmm...Goran's contract is up this year. There are rumors that he is being cosidered for a new Star Trek.....he is 'thinking' about moving on....maybe it's a negotiation ploy. Let's hope....sigh. I know he enjoys working with Maura and if their story line is good, it's more reason to stay. Star Trek is my playgroud for over 16 years now. I have a lot of insights and to this point I haven't heard any rumours about Goran doing Star Trek. I actually hope, if this turns out to be true, that he won't take that offer. I am sorry to say this but Star Treks flame is dead. It would only hurt his career. But if I pick of something I'll let you know. Inga

It may be that GV is not very much concerned with other TV shows or film; he has said that his goal is to return to the stage.
Most people who work full time spend more of their waking hours with colleagues at work than with their SOs. Mrs V isn't really any different, is she? They do share a house after all!

Do they?? I read somewhere that she doesn't like California and spends most of her time in Croatia....but the Goran said he only spends about 2 months a year there. Hmm....

If that's true, and Goran decides to stay, well than they're clearing headed for trouble

I'd be interested to know where you read that; Mrs V lives in California with her husband as far as I know and does voluntary work at a local animal shelter which entails fostering animals for short periods - which sould be hard to do if she wasn't there.
