I can't believe it neither it's not the first time i heard Gorans marriage is not that what you call a "good" marriage... (maybe it's because of Maura ... just kidding)

Let's not speculate on the as state of their marriage....but I will be interested to see how the adoption rumour pans out.

The National Enquirer is quite possibly the LEAST reliable source in existence. It's known for making up stories and is what we call a "Supermarket Tabloid" - not true in the slightest and everyone knows it. It's like the "Daily Mirror" except the gossip actually has no source 99% of the time.
Also, the date (April 19) was two days ago. We'd have heard from a better source by now.

Okay, this just occured to me, in case there were any doubts. I'm not 100% versed on the regulations surrounding adoption, but I'd think it would be sort of difficult for them to adopt given that neither are technically citizens of the US.

I was just thinking about it! And even if they were doing it, i don't think that kid could come here! You know, visa and stuff... Not to mention living here... Plus, i think that they would adopt croatian baby before American, because i'm 100% sur they speak croatian at home, and that would change their whole life. Not to mention that they would ruin childes chances to talk english perfectly, and not their 'weird, yet hot, accent'. Sorry.

I don't really follow the language argument; babies change your whole life at home anyway so that's neither here nor there, but in any case what's wrong with the child growing up bilingual? Immigrant families find themselves in that position all the time.
That said, I think the whole rumour is tosh.

All the bilingual kids I know who have learnt two languages when quite young speak both very well, and you end up speaking in whatever accent everyone at your school speaks in anyway. But I agree the whole thing is probably a complete load of rubbish, for the various reasons people have stated.

I know that! I'm a bilingual kid myself.
And, no, i didn't use school language. I used one from home.
That's why...
And I didn't say that because of bilingual thing. I said it because Goran and Ivana don't know english NEAR great. That's why. From my own experience, not learning at all, is definitely better then learning wrong. Sorry, but that is just my opinion.

I don't think Nina meant it in a negative way or to be rude. She was simply stating personal experience, or so I've gathered. There's no need to jump all over her.

Heh...I have a lot to say about trying to teach/learn a new language having gone through it with my daughter. After nearly six years of TOTAL immersion in English and ESL services, she still makes many of the same syntax errors that I observed in Goran during his television appearances. Fortunately she shares his self depreciating sense of humor when it comes to errors she still makes on occasion. 'Lukaisms' are very dear to my heart because they are a part of our daily life here as well. : ) Raising a child to function in two and three languages is very possible and courageous. I certainly wasn't able to do it. And I also have a tremendous sense of awe for those of you that write fan fictions in a language that is not your own.
