Okay, I am posting a fic that my friend and I are writing. We won't be able to update alot though, because school has started. Anyway here's some background information: Neela and Ray are together, and Susan is still at County. This kind of starts out as a dark Luby fic in the beginning. They'll get together eventually.
Between the Lines of Fear and Blame
Luka Kovac awoke in the morning, but not to his usual alarm.
"That's right, Abby and I have the late shift today... I thought I set my alarm anyway though…" He thought to himself.
When he looked at the clock, the time was 9:57AM. He immediately sat right up and looked at the volume on his clock.
"Shit! It's set to silent!" he exclaimed. "I'm late! Abby's going to kill me!"
Luka was late for his "meeting" with Abby, and he knew she hated it when he was late, or if he missed dates with her. While he was changing, Abby was slowly sipping her coffee.
"Luka has 3 minutes." She said while looking at her watch.
"Excuse me miss, are you expecting some one?" a waitress asked.
"No, I was, but he is late. If I could just get my bill, I'll be on my way."
"Sure thing, ma'am."
Abby, patiently awaited the arrival of her bill. When she received it, she paid and left. As she started to drive away she spotted Luka's car at the other end of the street.
"10:01 Luka Kovac, sucks for you." She said to her self.
When Abby got into the ambulance bay she heard a loud screech. She knew it was him so she kept walking. Susan and Neela greeted her at admit, then looked over to the lobby when they heard yelling.
"Abby! Abby!" Luka yelled, making his way through the crowd.
"Piss off Luka, you don't wanna be LATE for your shift." Abby yelled right back, emphasizing the word late.
"Abby! Let me explain!"
"No."
"Abby...." But she was already with her first patient.
"You better watch your ass today. She is pretty pissed off." Neela said, handing him a chart.

Luka saw Abby drinking coffee at Doc Magoos later that day and decided to walk over. She surprisingly welcomed him warmly. He sat down at her table and apoligized for that morning.
"Luka it's fine. In fact, why don't we try this again, say tonight around 7?"
"Um, yeah sure!" Luka replied, delightfully happy she came around.
After lunch they walked back into the hospital and finished their shifts. Abby drove home, looking foward to a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream and a hot bath. Luka on the other hand, drove home looking foward to a nice date with Abby and maybe a little something something afterwards.

Luka had been waiting at the coffee shop for about 20 minutes and he was getting a little nervous. Another 20 minutes had passed and Luka's phone rang. 'ABBY' flashed across the screen.
"Hello?"
