As Goran managed to work it so that he chose the name of his character, Luka is his nephew and Kovac is his friends surname, I'm hoping that if they use a Croatian name for the baby he will be able to chose it as well. debs x

That would be really cool cos there are "typical" names for each country but sometimes these don't reflect modern times. So if Luka could choose then he could give a modern, up-to-date croatian name for the baby.

I have names in mind for this baby I want you to suggest: GIRL: Lucianna Abigail Kovac, nickname "Lucy"; I am suggesting the first name cause its a nice name for a girl, very used in Italy and Argentina and it can be nicked as "Lucy" in honour to the med student who died in season 6, then I am suggesting as a second name Abigail cause is a great name, it would be her mothers name and as the baby would be last named Kovac, the second name would make Abby participate in a active way in the process of naming the baby and of course the baby have to be last named kovac, cause the last name of Abby is from her ex-husband. BOY: Dominic Michael Kovac; I am suggesting this first name cause it match really nice with the last name and because I first heard this name in a movie called "Kindergarden" with Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the main character was a boy and his name in the movie was Dominic and he was very cute, so I loved that name since, then you would be asking yourself why I brought Gallant´s name into picture, cause I know he is going to die and as Neela is becoming Abby´s best friend, I hope she will also be the Godmother of Baby Kovac, so it would be very considered from Abby to give her baby the name of Neela´s dead husband who died defending US believes and it will be the American part of the name of Baby Kovac.
I also think as Abby is reluctant to the baptism of her future kid, it would be meaningful if she suggest the names and Luka agrees with them

Everyone is assuming the baby name is already picked. However, they could easily change it before they film. I still need to come up with a name for a boy. For some reason, I could only come up with Anna (for a girl of course)

Hehe, I came up with a boy name. David. It's common in America and also listed on the Croatian baby name list here... www.thisiscroatia.com/croatian_baby_names.htmlAlso a correction for my girl suggestion - in Croatia Anna is actually spelled Ana.

Oh I know David is popular everywhere. I was just trying to find a name that was on the Croatian baby names list and also works for Abby's background. I'd really like for it to be a name they also use in Croatia so Luka's family isn't ignored.

Thanks for posting the Croatian baby names list Carrie! Yes I can see some westernised names... like Martin, Simon, Leo, Robert, Denis, Laura, Kate. I can see my friend name on there... well it is Jadranka she is Bosnian... well same ethnic and region Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia the former Yugoslavia... I bet you didn't know that before it was called Yugoslavia, the region was called "Austria-Hungary" in 1900 but the people in certain region were called Croats... Just interesting information of Eastern European history... for those interested in Goran's ethnic history and background... But it is hard to choose a name I like on that list... Some are a little strong... I do love Danijela but that name is already in connection with Luka... and Gabrijela, I like too and for boys... Hmmm I don't know, some are strong names... maybe these Ambrozije, Goran (!!), Antonio, Dane, Jasenko
