hey I have been reading spoilers for the next season and NBC are airing season 13 on 21st Sept 2006 (can't wait) but only showing 13 episodes this will take it to January 2007 then it will stop with a cliffhanger returning April 2007

I know. Waiting those few months inbetween will really truly suck.

I have been watching the TNT reruns of the past few seasons and there have been several...and I mean SEVERAL.....incidences where Luka has displayed disapproval of attempts to sustain life in premature infants. It is going to be a very interesting dynamic to watch him deal with the premature birth of his own child in the fall. I wonder just how far they will have to actually go with the Lubylet??

I hadn't thought of that, but you're right - there have been a number of occasions when Luka has felt it wasn't right to try and sustain the life of a premature baby.
This could add another very interesting dimension to the storyline, although knowing TPTB they could well just forget all that has gone before....only time will tell I suppose.

It's always different with your own kid though.

i dont think it s the prematurity thats an issue here as Abby was around 8 mths anyway,it's the lack of oxygen when the abruption occured.as a mum o3(yes i really am that old)all 3 of mine were born at 8mths and had no problems.

I think there is a difference between the other incidents and this in that the previous occasions on which we've seen Luka deal with this issue concerned extremely premature babies who are borderline viable. This baby isn't an extreme preemie.

A lot of people think it will be Steve, Sam's ex. He does seem like the most likely to go.

I'm pretty sure it will be Steve because of this:
Elliot is telling Sam that all she needs to do is fill out a rape report and say she shot him in self defense and she'll be OK. I hope it is Steve they are discussing. Sam is worried the police won't believe her but Eliot reassures her that it is the truth and so he knows the cops will believe it.
That's from 13.02 spoilers thread...
So I definitely think it IS Steve...

Yep, makes sense. I never put two + two together before. I can be seriously dense sometimes.

I was looking around coffeeandpie and TeeX and I saw under the Season 13 Spoilers that some new info was posted.
Both boards said that we will be introduced to Abby's father next season. It doesn't say how many episodes, but he does show up. The boards say that Abby and her father, if that's what you want to call him, meet up in the ER. He says that he's there visiting a sick friend. But it turns out that he's the one that's sick. Abby tries to help him with his illness (what we don't know). They go out drinking one night, and in a drunken stupor he tell's Abby that he is her father.
I wonder what caused Abby to fall off the wagon? I hope it doesn't have to do with the baby!!! I guess we'll have to wait for more spoilers to find out.

I'm so, so disappointed that they seem to be going down this route. Enough of Abby's family, another drunk already, another family member with an illness and Abby apparently off the wagon. Blech.

Ugh! Maura said she wanted to do a scenes where she fell off the wagon...but I don't want to see that! Yeah...her family is messed up...I mean..I guess that explains the complexity of her character...but enough is enough! I'm sure they will go with the post-pardom depression route with Abby...because they never make anything easy for her...but if they make the baby die...that is messed up...didn't Luka and Abby already lose enough?!
