People were wondering why none of the ER staff was crying when Pratt died. When you work in the health care field, your other patients come first. I have worked in health care for 12 years in nursing homes, and you become pretty attached to the residents, but when they pass away, you can't cry, and go on with your job. Believe me, after the end of the day, then that is when they probably had their cry. Remember nobody cried when they got the news, that Mark passed away. Everybody was silent, and went back to work right away. Hopefully this helps explain things.

Carter and Susan were really holding it back when Carter read Mark's letter and Kerry did nearly cried when she read it on the notice board... again at the funeral only Elizabeth and Kerry were crying... It is true what Donna said... With my job at the surgery, I sometimes get a quite emotional but hold it back, one of my colleague broken down my in arms once.... but sometimes with a colleague you are close to, it is hard... At times I can be angry too but stay calm because we have to be neutral with patients as we cannot single them out because they are in the wrong too regardless what they had done...

Interesting points of view. I will have to hash this over a bit.

I have watched this episode three times in the last week. Still wishing they had allowed the main cast to be a little more emotional. Maybe I haven't made the connection with Pratt that y'all have. Luka's absence from the hospital was wierd but given the fact that the actor was not available to shoot the scene, forgiveable. They gave him to us in the passing remark that sets up Abby's leaving ( catching a plane for an inteview in Boston). I am not sure what people expected them to do?? Insert some sort of digital image Yes, my husband would have been at the hospital in a shot to chek on me but just because we didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't 'happen'.

Just watched this episode again, bawled like a baby Pretty sure the hardest part was watching Frank go and push the elevator button, Pratt about to be rolled onto the elevator and Frank touching his shoulder. Whew...I don't think cried that much from an ER episode ever sense Dr. Greene died, or Abby having baby Joe.
