thanks for info Azizal www.gogoranvisnjicatbleuprofond2.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?p=4123#4123 www.tvsquad.com/2007/03/16/is-stanley-tucci-going-to-replace-goran-visnjic/ Is Stanley Tucci going to replace Goran Visnjic? Posted Mar 16th 2007 3:28PM by Bob Sassone Casting news from ER: Stanley Tucci, star of the very short-lived CBS drama 3 Lbs last year, will join the show later this year for a multi-episode stint. He's going to play "a brilliant ICU turned ER chief," in just one of many big changes that are coming to the show. TV Guide wonders if this means that Goran Visnjic will be replaced, since it has been reported that Visnjic might not return next season (though producers are trying to get him to agree to star in a few episodes here and there). This is interesting casting, going for an older guy instead of a resident hunk (sorry, nothing against Tucci's hunkiness). This guy deserves a weekly show. I remember a TV movie from years ago, a pilot for a series produced by Tom Selleck, that had Tucci as a detective. The show never made it, so I hope this works out.

Oh MY! I do NOT want Goran to leave. I would MISS him tremendously. I WANT my Luby to remain intact.....but adding Stanley Tucci to the cast??? Stroke of genius!

Well the fact that he will be ER chief is pretty much a mood killer for my "Goran will stay" optimism

March 14,2007 Question: ER fans are dying with this long break. Is there anything at all you can divulge about what to expect after the hiatus is finally over?— SaraAusiello: Lots of awkwardness for Reela, a new love interest for Sam in the form of med student Larry Weston (played by relative newcomer Marc Jablon), and a likely trip to Croatia for Luka and Abby to visit his father and possibly tie the knot. My theory? He'll find some reason to stay and that'll explain Goran Visnjic's disappearance next season. i found this in www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Columnists/Ask-Ausiello/default.aspx?columndate=14-Mar-2007yaay croatia!

Okay we all jumped on Ausiello when he "suggested" Goran was leaving ER in another article ..and now he says they are to film episodes in Croatia..... I hope that's true >: (but I hope Goran is not leaving)

Goran confirmed it himself (the Croatia thing).

Question: Any new Abby-Luka scoop on ER?— George Ausiello: You can disregard my theory about them tying the knot in Croatia. (Spoiler alert) The nuptials actually take place somewhere in Chicago, and to say the ceremony gets off to a rocky start is a bit of an understatement. Wait people ... Croatia is comming ! I'm sure that !

Yeah, it is because Goran did mention them going to Croatia...but that was before all this "Goran is leaving" stuff happened....but I still say they're going to Croatia and both are coming back....I hope so. I really do!

^ I go with that. But also, if Goran does leave, that they will go to Croatia and he stays behind, it would suit Goran in that way to stick with Luka I think...cause they just can't kill him. Would be fair enough for Luka to stay behind in Croatia and then next Season for Abby to follow him....that would be good..and I could be happy with that.

First off, if Ausiello can be wrong about the whereabouts of the wedding then he can be wrong about other things i.e. GV leaving.
But...
In the event that the above does indeed turn out to be true then my theory is that Luka is promoted to Chief of Staff taking Kerry's old position. That way GV gets less air time without him being sent off somewhere leaving Abby and Joe behind. The 5 or 6 episodes would not seem so far fetched since Luka is working upstairs.
Enter Stanley Tucci who takes over as ER Chief when Luka becomes managment.

That's actually a pretty good theory. But still...Stanley Tucci? I can't see it.

I can't see Luka as "Management" he loves being ER Chief. I suppose if Luka had to go away or on holidays ...someone has to replace him and that could be someone from a different department they would have to introduce us to the character first I would hope as the only other person I remember filling in for him in the ER was Dubenko and that was only supposed to be for a short one time stint.

fans.warnerchannel.net/foro/viewforum.php?f=8Source: TV Guide ER has staged some memorable exits over the years. Romano and the Helicopter... but nothing compares to what's about to happen to one County General Doctor in the May 17 season finale. Ray?
