The fan fic you are referring to is 'The Parent Trap' I think. Abby was on her way to Croatia with one twin and Luka shows up at the airport with the other. Heh....wonder if TPTB are reading this stuff? ?

Anyone wanna bet that he has to go back to Croatia and we get to see Abby make an agonizing decision and send Joe with him so she can battle her demons and finish her residencty without the single mother bit??? I admit that it is a definite possibility, but I'm not too keen on it... Why does Luka have to go back to Croatia again? If his brother does show up, then surely there must be someone else available to look after the dad - or at least there must be *someone* who actually lives in Croatia and could help. Plus if Luka is acting as caregiver would he want to look after Joe full-time as well? And Luka has probably missed out on a lot of Joe's development while he's been away, I don't know if Abby would want to be so far away from her son. Also I could see half a season of Abby battling her demons losing its appeal after a while...

No she's trying to get a flight to Croatia. She's panicking and wants to get to Luka. It seems now he gets to her! really? OMG OMGOMG THATS GREAT its just like a fanfic here but i dont remember the name.. wooow thats really really goood Some spoilers say he has his brother with him, so this should be really interesting. Luka and brother finding histerical Abby and Joe at the airport?!! Someone mentioned Luka going back to Croatia? I don't think we'll have this. Storyline doesn't seem to be going that way. And GV is up for a bunch of episodes according to some places. So if that's true I don't think we'll get Luka returning to Croatia, but I think he won't be working in ER just as well. maybe he wants a new job in a private hospital?? Maybe he'll claimb he wants to spend time with Joe, because he missed so much while he was away. I do think the main storyline is Abby and drink. It's something we all know Maura has been wanting and I think it's perfect for a last season since they can explain, past and present with it. Luby, Carby ... ...

Why not take him back to Croatia?? We have had nothing to say that his father isn't living at home with a caregiver. Luka has alluded to a rash of relatives and would have more support as to caregiving than Abby has in Chicago. They are still married. And Luka is Joe's father after all. And if Abby needs to focus on her recovery that means meetings....and babysitters. Besides, it would give us an awesome reunion to look forward to at the end of the season....serries...whatever.

He could be working in Croatia. He started out in Chicago as a moon lighter....or temporary doctor. Could be doing the same there, taking a shift now and then. There is a lot that we still don't know.

We have just a small bit of information for this episode, “Coming Home.” In it, Luka is back, but there is no sign of him in what we have at the moment. It is a troubling phone call for Moretti that is more the focus, plus a patient story or two.
In what we have so far, Pratt tells Abby he's heard Luka is home. He seems puzzled because the news contradicts whatever Abby told him at some other point about Luka’s plans. Abby says yeah, that it was a surprise.
There seems to be a chill between Abby and Neela. Abby approaches her “timidly” and thanks her for doing a chest tube earlier. Neela credits Harold and moves off, telling Abby to say hello to Luka for her.
Moretti has left a bunch of orders for Abby to oversee. She wonders where Moretti is, and Frank says he is occupied with a telephone call about his son. He teases about “you people and your dysfunctional families.”
Moretti has gotten an upsetting phone call. It seems like it is from his son’s school as he is talking to the Dean. He says he will be there as soon as he can and that he will tell his wife. Later we hear Frank making airline reservations for him to Providence.
In the ambulance bay, Haleh tells Abby that Moretti is flying out that evening and that it is serious. Abby says it must be and that she didn’t know about it. As Haleh heads back inside, Moretti is exiting out to the bay where Abby remains. We do not have any more.
Lionel, a British man in his 40s arrives carrying a wheel of cheese. He is with his much younger girlfriend, Kate. He is supposedly the winner of a cheese-rolling competition, and he carries with him the prize—a wheel of cheese. Morris is happy to take the case as he seems to know about the competition. Even Harold has heard of it.
Later five drunk and angry men show up at the ER. They claim that one of them, Gareth, really crossed the finish line first. Later still, Morris and all the participants watch the tape of the cheese-rolling race to see if Gareth really won. Morris declares it a tie and that the men should share . . . yes, they should cut the cheese. Gareth declines and lets Lionel be the winner rather than slicing the wheel. But Morris awards Gareth the cheese since he showed the spirit of the true winner in refusing to allow the prize to be destroyed. However, the prize is soured (no pun intended!) when they realize that Frank has cut a slice out of it for a sandwich.
Morris directs Harold to a rack of suits. He tells Harold he should pick one for the evening. Harold dresses and looks sharp. He walks down the hall to the sound of the Bee Gees’ “Staying Alive” and stops to see a patient with his new confident demeanor.
A patient “Marcus” is in surgery (it seems that Sam is in the O.R.). Harold, Neela and someone named Ronny are on the observation deck. Harold wants to make sure that Marcus is okay before he leaves, but Ronny tells him to go. He tells Neela that Harold is a nice kid but a little wierd.
In the last moments of what we have, Neela steps up to Abby as she works at the nurses’ station. We have nothing more.

Hi! I'm new on this board and I have been lurking around for while... I've finally found the courage to post... I've been speculating on Lukas return as well, is it possible that he returns in the end of blackout? Consider that there is a power outtake and Abby has a lot of missing calls on her cellphone. It's probably far stretched but I'm thinking about the compass in season 12 and how "they always find each other"...

Someone today told me by PM : Great minds think alike! I do think this has something to do with the whole compas thing, and I'm sorry larues, I do know that all of us are waiting for that Croatian episode but I hardly think it'll happen! I think Luka is coming to stay, they will find him an excuse to leave him off screen when needed but I don't think it'll be anything related to him going to Croatia. i could be siriouly wrong though. But things seem to be taking a different way I think this will be more related to "I love you aniway" and "we'll get through this together" and I think will have a lot of questions answered from Luby I and carby.

What questions remained to be answered about carby?
They don't have to have a Croatia based episode for either or both of them to return there. I don't think that will necessarily be the resolution but there would be no need at all to show them there.

Personally I don't want him to appear at the end of blackout because that would offically be an episode appearance and if he is limited to four...or six....ow whatever, it's just not...ahem .... meaty..enough for me. If he is restricted, I want the god...um....guy....in the entire episode not just a sneak peek.

The calls were from her babysitter.
I don't want any cheesy airport scenes either. If (and it's a big 'IF') Luka turns up at O'Hare, tptb will likely show us his face reacting to seeing Abby - in a split second we will get a range of emotions - then the screen will go black. We won't see a meeting there.
