Thanks guys!! Here's another chapter!! Chapter 4 Lexy sat up and nodded. Her thick brown curls were messy around her face and made their way all the way down her back. She had pale skin and dark lips. She would be the perfect Snow White. Although she had absolutely no desire to be Snow White. She loved Tinkerbell. Everything in her room was green, and at this very moment she was wearing Tinkerbell pajamas. She loved Tinkerbell so much, that she had gotten the nickname ‘Tink.’ “Can we have some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast?” Lexy asked, now clearly over her bad dream. “Of course,” Abby told her daughter. “Luke should be up soon, so we’ll get started, and by the time we’re done, he’ll be up.” Luka winked at Abby and then headed back to his room to get on some clothes. Abby and Lexy usually had mother daughter time in the kitchen. Lexy loved everything about the kitchen, and her dream was to one day own a wedding cake shop. Lexy was usually their late sleeper, but when she was up, she wanted everyone to be up. She would sleep until ten or eleven on weekends if you let her. But when she was up, she was up. She never had that odd awkward moment when she was groggy. She was either asleep or up, she had no middle ground. Luke, on the other hand, was an early riser. He always woke up before seven. But, he never would wake up his parents. He would just play in his room until they were up, because even at a young age, he respected that they needed their sleep. Lexy and Luke were like day and night in so many ways, but they got along extremely well for a brother and sister. Abby wondered if it was because Luke was so patient with Lexy’s enthusiasm. But Luke could be hyper as well. They were both pretty animated, Lexy just seemed to be more so. “So,” Lexy continued on her description of the shop she one day wanted to own. She had every detail about the cake shop down to the “t”. Abby was extremely impressed with her five year old’s attention to detail. “It will be green, of course, because I love green…” “Yes, you do,” Abby said as she stirred the batter in the large glass bowl. “And the tables will be pink; all colours of pink, because pink and green go good together. It won’t be white, even though it is a wedding cake store. And it’ll be called “Tink’s Wedding Cakes,” because I’m Tink. Then, I’ll have picture of all my cakes all over the walls. But the whole front will be windows, to let the light in. What do you think, mommy?” Lexy pulled on a curl as she smiled widely. She had definitely gotten her mother’s talkative way. “That sounds perfect, Lexy,” Abby told her as she began pouring pancake batter on the hot frying pan. “Mommy?” Lexy questioned as she took a big gulp of milk. “Yes, Lex?” “Do you know what was really weird about my dream?” She wiped off her milk moustache before taking another large sip. “What honey?” “It was Uncle Jake who was taking Luke. He was saying that he was his. Isn’t that funny?” Lexy asked with a giggle. Abby looked up from the pancakes, shock apparent in her eyes. And before she knew it the glass bowl slipped out of her hands and broke into a million pieces as it smashed into the ground.

Chapter 5 “Dammit!” Abby screamed after the crashing of the glass bowl. She immediately bent down and began picking up the batter covered shards of glass. Lexy sat frozen in the stool at the island. She rarely ever heard her mother curse, and when she did, Lexy knew that it was not time to talk. Abby stacked the shards in a dish towel. She picked up a large one and the shakiness of her hands caused it to slip. It cut her hand, leaving a large jagged slash from one corner to another corner of her hand. “Dammit!” She yelled again. “Abby?” Luka questioned from upstairs. Abby could hear his footsteps as he ran down the hallway. “Mommy, are you okay? Do you want me to look at it?” Lexy asked quietly, as she began to inch her way down from her stool. “No,” Abby told her, “stay right there. Don’t get off of that stool, until all of this glass is up.” She reached up for anything to put on her cut. “Ab,” Luka stated as he saw the sight before him. “Hey are you okay?” He rushed to Abby’s side and took a look at her hand. Then he got a dish towel, wet it, and placed it over her cut. As he placed it onto her hand, he noticed that her hands were shaking wildly. “You’re shaking,” he whispered. Abby glanced up at Lexy who was observing everything and gave her a weak smile. “I’m fine,” she assured Luka, as she began to stand up. “Just a little spill is all.” “Well, we need to clean that cut up, it looks pretty nasty,” Luka told her as he attempted to look at her hand again, but she pulled away. She didn’t want him to know that they were still shaking. “Mommy?” Luke’s voice came from the top of the stairs. He wasn’t used to everyone being up before him on a day off, so he wasn’t sure where everyone was. “We’re down here, Luke,” Abby told him. Luke walked down the stairs. “Wow,” he said, seeing the spill all over the floor. “What a mess.” His dark eyes widened, he began to step into the kitchen but Abby stopped him. “Luke, don’t. You don’t have any shoes on and there might be glass,” she told her little boy. He nodded, his brown locks shaking. Luke had hair like his sister, but it was like his mother’s. His nose was extremely similar to Luka’s and Abby found that interesting and wonderful. He did have a way about his cheeks and eyes that subtly mirrored Jake, but if you didn’t know to look for it, you wouldn’t notice it. He was also extremely tall for his age, unlike Lexy who looked very small for her age. They did look alike, however, they both made the same expressions when they laughed and when they had some sort of news to tell. “Luka, get him,” Abby ordered as she threw the glass into the garbage can.

Thanks guys. Here's more!! Chapter 6 Luka walked over to Luke and picked him up. The little boy held on tight to his father, as he walked him over to the stool next to Lexy and sat him down. “There you go, Buddy,” Luka told his son. Luke smiled. “Thank you, daddy,” Luke then assessed the situation. He was a critical thinker and also knew how to sell any point. Abby and Luka assumed he would either be a lawyer one day or a sales person. He would be great at both. “So,” he said after deep thought. “Since mommy spilled breakfast, are we going to go to ‘Dilly’s Breakfast Hut’ for breakfast?” Abby glanced at Luka, who shrugged letting her know that it was up to her. Abby wasn’t big on the Dilly Hut, but her kids loved it. It was a breakfast buffet where the kids could put ice cream on their pancakes and fill their cups with milk shakes. It was a place that they only went to on rare occasions, like birthdays or after one had a play or did well on something. It was not an everyday occurrence. “I don’t know,” Abby sighed. “But then what will we have?” Luke asked rationally. He didn’t whine, because he knew that his mother would not respond to whining, he knew that he had to get her thinking. “And,” Lexy added, working her way into the conversation, “I did have a bad dream last night.” She pouted out her bottom lip and batted her long lashes. “Please, mommy?” “Yeah, please?” Luke added. They both clasped their hands together and gave Abby sweet smiles. Abby looked over at Luka and then rolled her eyes as she chuckled lightly under her breath. “Okay.” “Yes!” “But, you have to go upstairs and get dressed and brush your teeth and hair,” Abby told them. They nodded eagerly. Luka picked them both up, Lexy on his right and Luke on his left, and placed them out of the kitchen. After he was sure that they were out of earshot, he approached Abby. Abby was still working diligently to clean the kitchen. He pulled a dishtowel out of her hand to get her attention. Abby looked up, and he noticed slight fear in her eyes. “What was that all about?” He asked her. She shook her head and ran her undamaged hand through her hair. “Just Lexy’s dream,” she told him. “She told me that….” Abby’s voice shook and she took a moment to control her self. “Luka, she said that in her dream it was Jake trying to take Luke, and that he said that Luke was his.” Luka took her by the shoulders and gave her a sweet smile. “Ab,” he began. “It was probably just a coincidence. In the movie we watched, it was the friend that stole the boy, remember? And your best friend is Jake. I seriously doubt that our daughter is psychic. Dramatic, sure. Psychic, I don’t think so.” “Probably not,” Abby agreed. “It’s just—I don’t know. Something feels off,” she admitted. “How so?” “It just feels off,” Abby told him. “I just feel like something is about to happen, but I don’t know what.”

Here's a new chapter guys, thanks for the comments!! Chapter 7 The Next DayAbby walked through the Memorial Clinic overseeing a few of the new interns whom Weaver had sent in to work for the day. One was complaining that this was not surgery work and worse than working in triage. Abby had to hide a laugh, and put on a stern face, letting them know not to cross her. However, she understood how they felt. It wasn’t too long ago that she herself was an intern. Abby had struggled for quite sometime trying to figure out which type of surgeon she wanted to be. At first, she wanted to go into paediatrics, then she chose cardiovascular, but then she wanted to go into brain surgery. But, Luka had intervened and told her that she should go into general medicine so that she could do a little of it all. She had agreed. Luka, even after all of his talk about plastic surgery, had gone into paediatrics. He was a natural, and many were impressed with his skills. Neela had become a heart surgeon. Susan, surprising them all, had become a plastic surgeon. She had realized that she could really change lives and help people in ways that she had never imagined. And Jake had also gone into general medicine. He also liked to do a little of each. “I’m sorry I’m late,” Weaver expressed sincerely as she walked into the clinic and up to Abby. “I know you’re kids will be here soon.” Abby gave her a sweet smile. “That’s okay,” Abby told her. “It’ll be another thirty minutes.” “Well, you go get ready for your snack time, and I’ll see you back here in an hour.” “Okay.” Abby walked toward the hospital and stopped slightly when she felt a presence beside her. It was a presence she felt very rarely, but when it hit her it hit her hard. She could swear that it was Tommy. Or whatever it was reminded her of Tommy. And when the presence hit her, it felt like what she and Tommy had, had lasted years instead of a few mere months. At these times she missed him. It wasn’t often that she missed him; because it had been many years ago and she had moved on. However, at times she did miss him terribly. It was mainly when she would feel this strong force, and she would swear at those moments that Tommy’s soul was still stuck inside County’s walls.

Chapter 8 Abby walked away slowly from the force and walked toward the nurses’ station to pick up a small packet of paper work that she needed to work through before Luka, Luke, and Lexy got there. On Mondays and Wednesdays, Luka got off early to pick up the kids from school. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Abby got off early. On those days when they didn’t have anything major lined up for that afternoon, who ever picked up the kids would bring them back to the hospital to have their afternoon snack in the cafeteria. They had a schedule pretty much down packed. It was hectic and sometimes during the week Abby and Luka hardly got to see each other. But they had plotted it so that one of them was always with the children when they were not at school. They didn’t want to be the types to get so wrapped up in their jobs that their personal lives suffered. They both realized that they would never be in the running for chief, but that was okay with them, because they were a family. But, Abby could not believe that Luka wanted to add another child to the mix. Just the two children that they had now and their jobs kept them so busy, that they hardly had time for anything. How would they do all of that with a newborn? “You’re Dr. Abigail Lockhart,” a person said, pulling Abby out of her thoughts. She looked up at them and smiled and nodded, affirming that she in fact was Abigail Lockhart. “Well, Dr. Abigail Kovac,” she corrected with a smile. “Of course,” the lady said. She was standing with a man and they both looked lost. “I think I knew that you had married.” Abby was confused, but allowed them to continue. “Um, our daughter has leukaemia and she needs a bone marrow transplant,” the lady informed Abby. “Oh, well then you are looking for haematology,” she said realizing that they needed directions. She began explaining which way they needed to go, but the lady began to cry. As the lady’s husband pulled her into a hug, Abby felt sympathy for this poor couple and nodded. “I’m so sorry about your daughter,” she informed them. “It’s not that,” the man said, “It’s just that…well…you look so much like our daughter.” Abby felt as if her heart sank all the way down her chest. “We’re Dustin and Caroline Kline, we’re Hannah’s parents. Well, we’re her,” he paused as if it wasn’t coming out correctly. “We’re your daughter’s parents.”
