Good ep overall, they really do keep getting better and better, but I sincerely hope they change a few things soon. Even my love for Maura may not be enough to keep me watching if they continue to insist on repeating scenes over and over! Ahhh I love Maura and I want to support the show, but it's driving me crazy. I figured it would be better to rant here, where no ABC execs are likely to see it, and save the good comments for fb and twitter. ITA, Nicole. Every episode, I keep hoping they'll drop the 'flashbacks' to stuff we just saw two minutes earlier, and each episode I'm disappointed to find that silly device still there. In his commentary for Judicial Discretion on ABC.com, Tom said he does that to pay homage to an old movie he loved, the name of which escapes me right now. I'm all for paying homage to something that's inspired you, but in this case it just wastes time and dumbs the show down. If your viewers are so stupid that they can't remember something that happened thirty seconds ago? Then you've got big problems, LOL. I do think this episode was the best of the four we've seen so far - less choppy and frantic, with a little better job of character and case development. And the kid who played Anthony was fantastic. Of course, I also loved my little Kathryn/Chad moments - clearly they need to go away on a little vacation together. And the scene at the restaurant (what is it with Kathryn *always* eating? LOL) with Jimmy was well done, but I give all the credit for that to Maura, who we know would have smoldering chemistry with a tree stump if she had to. Rob Morrow was better in this one, but I've come to the conclusion that I just simply don't like the way he plays Jimmy. It's like he's trying too hard to be 'quirky' - with the funny little voices, the purple glasses (which Tom said on Twitter actually belonged to Rob - the humanity! LOL) - it just irks me. But for Maura, I'll suffer through him for nine more episodes, LOL. I think that might be episode 8 - does anyone remember for sure?

Yes, I also think the one with Parminder was gonna be the 8th. episode. Not that it matters much coz they're switching the order again. Next week will be the 'Cougar' episode although 'Perfect Witness' was originally the 5th. episode and I was so looking forward to the shooting scene in the streets Anyway, I must say, I liked 'Judicial Discretion' better than this weeks episode. Though I agree, that young actor did a great job.

what is it with Kathryn *always* eating? Haha, I think this is the only thing she does apart from being a lawyer and I think it's pretty exaggerated... I wish she would have gone on holidays with any of them... there are such robotic people in real life too, but I think it would do Kathryn some good to have a more human side, even if she doesn't have to become another Abby...

I noticed it more in last night's episode too - the woman is always eating! A pepperoni pizza, falafel, schwarma, etc. In all of the other episodes she eats in almost every scene too. Chinese, pasta, etc. I love it. I myself eat all day long, so it's nice to see her eating and making me feel good about it LOL! I would love to have a meal with Maura. Ahh *dream*

yeah, apart from the fact that Kathryn still looks a bit plain to me as a person, I could watch Maura eating for hours... ^^ I'm crazy about food too, by the way... craving for a falafel right now ^.^

They have this music page now : abc.go.com/music-lounge/show/the-whole-truth/440622 but the songs from the last epis aren't there yet. I was wondering what that song was, that was playing in the restaurant almost at the end of the episode. It sounded familiar, could it have been used on ER?

I thought this episode was better than 1 & 2, but I liked Judicial Discretion better. Morrow was improved and the young actor who played the killer was very good, but aside from the scene with the detective there was nothing really good for Maura to play.
It seems like she's either given very simple lines or she's having to deliver her lines while eating. I know they are trying to make a point with her character, but enough already. Maura Tierney is too good of an actress to be constantly having to deliver her lines with food in her mouth. Give her something to do!!!!

If Maura wasn't playing this character, Kathryn would be pretty uninteresting and unlikable to me because the writing for her is so simplistic and one-note. It really gives Maura no room at all to do the kind of work she does best. Obviously she gives it her all and adds all the little things that make her acting so watchable and enjoyable, but there's only so much she can do with a character that's so flat.

I totally sign the 'flat' too... It's a pity for Maura, like letting a sushi master make potato mash... But I still hope to watch the series as long as they're willing to show it, it's all my (our) Mauraddiction...

I liked this weeks episode better than the last 3. And I agree with everyone else, Kathryn is always eating, what's up with that! I'm a 3 squares a day girl myself, so I can't fathom eating all the time. And again, agreeing with everyone that the writers are writing Kathryn so "flat" and one "note". If it wasn't Maura playing Kathryn, I doubt I'd be watching the show. But I'll continue to watch to the bitter end. Also waiting for Parminder's episode, it'll be nice to see Maura and Parminder together again.

I don't care if she's just sitting there not saying a word in every episode, if she's in it, I'm going to be watching. And will definitely be supportive of it, as Nicole mentioned earlier, on public sites like Twitter and FB. But I also can't help but mourn the fact that she could be working with much, much better material elsewhere.

This has become my favorite episode so far! I'm not sure if its because its on at 9 p.m. here and I'm usually so tired and I have absolutely no knowledge of the practices of law but I've really been enjoying this show. I'm not sure if it would be different if Maura wasn't on it...I don't usually watch ABC very much but I like the show. Its kept me hooked for the most part to! I was wondering if anyone else could tell me though, what's on Kathryn's necklace? I've been trying to get a good enough look at it!

I really liked this weeks episode, "hey, your boyfriends here" and that wave he gave, so funny! Love the chemistry between those two. Hope they continue focusing on that, because they are the best parts of the show, for me.
And i know that it is stating the obvious but, you can really tell this show is filmed on the WB lot, i recognize every place, they show!
