Guys, you have to check out NBC's newly re-designed Parenthood site - it looks fantastic! Makes me feel happy to see how much they're still behind the show - feels like a nice show of support for Maura, as well. www.nbc.com/parenthood

REVIEWSThe Top Ten Hot New Shows of Fall 2009-2010 8. Parenthood We liked the 80s movie this show is based upon and we like the cast of this new series. The funny thing is this show happened right after the movie came out. Let’s hope that this modernized, updated version executive produced by Ron Howard (yes, THE Opie himself) lasts longer. Seriously, it’s Ron Howard. This is one of those shows you have to watch, with timeless family struggles that seem to translate well into this world 20 years past the original movie’s setting. Add in a standout cast which includes Maura Tierney, Craig T. Nelson, Bonnie Bedelia, Dax Shepard, Peter Krause, Monica Potter, Mae Whitman, and Marguerite Moreau and you have a recipe for success in this series. www.li-reviews.com/2009/07/31/the-top-ten-hot-new-shows-of-fall-2009-2010/

Erika Christensen on Parenthood's Future As far as Parenthood actress Erika Christensen knows, the cast is scheduled to reconvene at the end of September to begin shooting the new NBC series’ second episode after co-star Maura Tierney’s health scare postponed production and the premiere It is looking like the second script came in, we will go back to work about two months from now, Christensen has not talked to Tierney but said she texted her when she heard “to send her positive vibes and to let her know she could call if she needed anything.” Tierney was one of the many reasons Christensen wanted to be a part of Parenthood in the first place. “I read a lot of pilots this year because I’d decided I was going to be open to TV, and Parenthood really stood out as something up my alley. I’m a big fan of [executive producer] Jason Katims and [his show] Friday Night Lights. They hired this amazing cast starting with Peter Krause, Craig T. Nelson and Maura, whose work on other shows I had always admired. Then Tommy Schlamme directed the pilot in the Bay Area. It just kept getting better.” Maura should not have to simultaneously worry about her health and her job. She should be able to concentrate on getting better. Whenever she’s ready and feels up to it, we’re ready.” www.tvguidemagazine.com/news/erika-christensen-on-parenthoods-future-1924.html

Thanks for posting that, Maya! Glad to hear they're still scheduled to go back at the end of September and I loved what she said about whenever Maura's ready, they're ready.

Thanks Maya.
Some critics said the show needed some work, maybe they used this period to fix the stories.
The pilot will probably feel like an introdution to too many characters. I´m sure, as the show goes on we´ll be able to know these people and care for them.
I already care for Sarah.

Quite a few of the TV writers on Twitter are live blogging/tweeting from NBC's day at the Critic's Press Tour in Pasadena and here are a few of their tweets about Maura/Parenthood from NBC Entertainment President Angela Bromstad:
HitFixDaniel"No." Angela on whether or not they could have pushed "Parenthood" back without throwing Maura Tierney under the bus.
televisionary"We made that announcement completely in sync with Maura and her people." - Angela re: Parenthood announcement NBC put out.
NBC is run by morons. If the network's statement was made "in sync with Maura and her people" why did Maura then have to issue her own statement, cleaning up the mess they made?

Well, as Maura said, there was a "wording" problem... Maybe Maura and her people should have made the first statement themselves. Man, NBC seems to be a mess. Silverman lost his job, I just wonder how it´s going to be with the new guy. 5 primetime nights of Leno sounds crazy to me. Right now I´m just here wishing good luck to Parenthood. Edit to add: good news "Jeff Greenstein, a producer on "Desperate Housewives" and "Will & Grace," has joined the "Parenthood" team.." luby.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=aiarchive&action=display&thread=4110&page=6#159585
