That is FANTASTIC. I was hoping to do that at the Wooster Group event, considering it was open bar! So happy for you.

Hi! Its been soo many years since I've been a Maura fan and I finally got to meet her on Monday night! I had front row seats at the play which was brilliant very funny and it was almost surreal to see Maura in person. Afterwards I was the only person hanging round to speak to Maura. She came out of a door smiled at me and then shook my hand said it was nice to meet me and than we had a long conversation. Afterwards I went to the bar with her (there was only a few people in the bar) and we had a drink. Such an amazing experience, the only thing is that I didnt get a picture of ask her to sign anything....just didnt feel right but anyway the conversation was amazing, yey! I second what Rike said -- what did you talk about? *jealousy takes over*

Dave Foley said on Joe Rogan's podcast that Maura is a fun person to get drunk with, so for those of you who are going to the play- Go for it!

Sounds like a play, relax stephen and you ladies a bit before the performance, and before you meet Maura.
If anyone remembers, if you get a chance to speek with Maura, could you ask her about her policy on signing autographs throught the mail. I'm really curious as to her answer.

That would be great if anyone could. I know she doesn't sign TTM, I'm just curious as to why she doesn't sign. It would be interesting to hear her perspective about it.

Re: Maura appearing at Gate Theatre Dublin - Feb 11 by ny_fan 1 day ago (Sun Mar 13 2011 10:38:29) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great to see Maura in action in God of Carnage - well worth a visit!! It was very entertaining and the whole cast were very good. It was also possible to meet them all in the bar afterwards, although I didn't actually disturb Maura who was deep in conversation with the rest of the cast. I did notice that Maura seems to have picked up some slightly Irish speech characteristics - noticed it a few times during the play. Guess it doesn't take long for an actor to pick up on accents etc... From IMDB www.imdb.com/name/nm0005491/board/flat/177530644

Those of you going to Dublin might enjoy this particular recap that was posted on the Gate's FB page today, especially the last paragraph: Saw God of Carnage on Tuesday & Wednesday and loved it. It's a great show and the cast are all brilliant. I recommend you go see it if you haven't already, it's really funny. It was my first time there and it's a beautiful theatre. You can see and hear everything clearly and even get the chance to talk with the cast afterwards in the ...bar. The staff are so friendly and helpful too, especially Vincent. I'll come back to the Gate next time I'm in Dublin!
For Maura followers, she gave an awesome performance and after the show was so kind & friendly with her fans. She took the time to make sure everyone got photos, signitures and the chance to speak with her. Thanks, I'll never forget it Hey I wrote that! I was persuaded to join this forum by Tara & Henrike. Thanks for pointing me this way guys, the Maura forums I used to lurk on have gone down again. So yeah it was an amazing two nights and well worth flying to Dublin for. What makes this especially great is that she's not as famous in Ireland, and it's a small theatre, so there are few people if any people waiting by the stage door. On the night I waited, there were only 3 others I think. Nobody had to push or wave things to be signed. Everyone was really respectful of each other and let everyone have alone time with Maura without interuption. She was so kind, and it was like she understood the need that fans have to speak to her and tell her how much she means to us. I've never met a celeb who is like that. She really listened to everything I was saying. I'm so happy and so grateful. I wish I had been able to start a conversation, as I'll probably never get the chance to again. But I said what I wanted and got a signiture and photos, so I'm still a happy chappy. Random stuff: *When I dropped my pen, she picked it up for me. *My first photo had mega flash on both of our glasses, but I didn't realise until I checked later. After she finished signing someone else's things, I asked her for another photo. She was happy to do so and took off her glasses to avoid the flash from happening again. *She is so absolutely amazingly beautiful. (Less wrinkles than a newborn! ) * She was wearing blue jeans, a brown belt, a black turtle neck sweater (or in UK English, a black polo neck jumper lol) and her black glasses that I love! *Someone else got four things signed and photos, and she was cool about it. My favorite thing of the night was getting talking with some other Maura fans there, and hanging out in the theatre bar after. Our aim was to mingle with her, but she was really engrossed in conversation and we didn't want to be annoying so we let it be. We just talked amongst ourselves and enjoyed being in the same room as her for about an hour. We got to talk with the other cast members though. * Her hair got more and more puffy and all over the place as she kept running her hand through it and the gel and headband from the play had been removed. *Later on a guy came in and started talking with Maura, but I was facing the other way and didn't see him. No idea who he is. Later on though I saw her pat him on the ass a few times! She had a good feel! My favourite favourite thing was that at one point, she came over to my side of the bar to talk to someone or get something. As it was really crowded and someone was walking through, she took a step back to let them pass. Not looking behind her, she didn't see I was right there and backed right into me! She even stood on my foot! I have never been so delighted to have someone stand on me! ;D (I have to give myself credit here, as I pretended nothing had happened and carried on talking with the other fans I was with like we weren't just dying of happiness inside that Maura walked into me! ) I also found out how they did *that* scene. If you're sitting on the front 4 rows in the centre, you will probably get sprayed! If you have any questions I'm happy to answer. I know how it feels when you want to find out all the info and want to see the play but can't. Henrike, I know you want the photo, it's on the way! x

Since we're starting to have some personal recaps come in, and since we'll have some great recaps from Martine and the gang in a couple of weeks, I thought we could do a recap/meeting Maura thread like we did for North Atlantic.
