Sorry to make threads about simple things... maybe I should wrote it on the spoilers section of the episode, but since it aired in the US, it wasn't possible...
Is Luka the chief of staff from the ER ? Because something just didn't make sence to me...
Im episode 2, it appear that Kerry save his job by putting him as chief of staff, but in episode six, he appeard like he is the ER chief ( wich probably is the same... ) as he was before the Clement incident...
Can you guys tell me ?

luka has been the chief of the ER since last season. kerry became chief of staff after romano's death, but she was fired from that position after she took the blame (rightfully) for the clemente situation. she is currently an attending. i don't know exactly who the new chief of staff is. luka is still chief of the ER, and thus kerry's boss.

But what about Pratt ? He isn't the new boss ? i thnk that in episode 2 when Morris asked for Weaver for his job, she said she wasn't the chief of staff anymore and Pratt asked Luka about Morris job...
Another thing is, last year ( 12 th season ), Luka didn't have an office... or why in episode 4 he had ?

We met the interim Chief of Staff when Angela appeared on the scene during Luka's court case. She is the current Chief of Staff and will hold that position as they search for someone new. I actually hope that they keep her. I think she had a nice rapport with the ER. It was her daughter, Danielle, that was treated for hurting herself in a later episode.

Actually, Angela is not the Interim Chief of Staff -- she's from Staff Services, which acts as a liaison between Medical Staff, Hospital Administration, and the Departments. They handle stuff like credentialing and clinical privileges. In her first ep where she was talking to Luka in the lounge, Timmy the clerk came in and gave her some message from a doc in another department and she said something about the credential rules apply to him as well. I suppose she was involved in the Ames' case because the outcome could have affected Luka's credentials and privileges.
We haven't seen anything about a Chief of Staff replacement for Weaver, though I'm sure this will be come up at some point.

wow that is impressive knowledge! I have a question...does anyone know what getting tenure is? Remember when they had all that business about carter getting tenure- I never knew what they meant!

teure is essentially a guaruntee of a job permanently. they cannot be laid off, and firing them is a complicated process and will only occur if they seriously violate a code of ethics, malpractice, etc. it's very common with teachers and professors, especially at universities.

no, i don't believe luka has tenure. up until s12, there wasn't an icicle's chance in hell of him getting it, given his antics. i don't think anyone has tenure right now, even kerry and haleh, who are the longest at their jobs.
