Q. Any last details on how ER will end? - Mike, Geneva, NY A. Let me just flip through the script here....Ah, yes. The April 2 two-hour goodbye will see Dr. Greene back at County General - but it's not for another Mark Green (Anthony Edwards) flashback. Rather it is Mark's daughter, Rachel Greene, now a med-student who picks up where her late dad left off. Watching Rachel begin her journey as a doctor will be stepmom Dr. Elizabeth Corday. Alex Kingston (Elizabeth Corday) can't wait to reunite with 21-year old Hallee Hirsh, who last appeared as Rachel in 2004. "I know Carter (Noah Wyle) has a very big storyline in the final episode, but it makes sense for Rachel to bring closure to the show," says Alex. "Anthony was the focal point of ER, so for Rachel to become an intern (Navy's note: Med Student) and study in the hospital where her father worked brings everything full circle. source: print mag Marilu Henner is the latest name actor to join ER's all-star finale on April 2. The Taxi alum will play the mother-of-the-groom from hell whose antics land her and her future daughter-in-law in the hospital on their big day. "There were none," Julianna Margulies told Us. "We shot everything in two days. We had no time. He was on a film schedule. I was coming from New York, and I had a baby to get back to, so there was no time for pranks." Even without the jokes, Margulies, who played Clooney's love interest from 1994 to 2000, said she was happy to be back. "It was a lovely experience — just going back," Margulies said. "The crew — some of them had been there since the beginning. And being on the set again and working with John Wells who directed and wrote the episode we did... it was like coming home. It felt really good." Nurse Carol and Dr. Ross — as well as their twins Tess and Kate, now in the fourth grade —will return to County General on March 12. "You pick up a slice of their life now," Margulies said. "It's very satisfying." ER draws its 15th and final season to a close on April 2.

Funny enough I didnt know where to put this! Not so much spoiler but says when the show finishes and the womans pick of the fave characters... Guess who's the top two! NINA'S PICKS: Saying goodbye to Chicago County General
I'll admit it, I was way late to the ER party. But thanks to DVDs and TNT reruns, I've realized the genius behind this 15-year-old TV drama.
With the last episode scheduled for April 2, I'll share some of my favorite ER characters of all time. (Dr. Carter isn't on the list because he's so obviously everyone's favorite.)
1. Abby Lockhart: Carol Hathaway was always too severe for me. With all her flaws and issues, though, Abby always felt more like a friend.
2. Luka Kovac: People love Dr. Ross, and what's not to love. But Luka not only had a devastating war-torn history, he almost seemed oblivious about being tall, dark and handsome.
3. Kerry Weaver : At first, I hated her as much as the next person. Then she became an outspoken supporter of gay rights and her personality softened.
4. Mark Greene: His quest to fight and eventually die from cancer was among the best television I've ever seen.
5. Greg Pratt : He's another character I didn't like at first, but warmed up to him after Dr. Kovac sent him to help Doctors Without Borders in Darfur.
6. Archie Morris: Annoying as he was as a medical student, he kept the show from being too serious thanks to his antics, like meeting the collection of red-headed kids he fathered through a sperm bank.
NOT SO MUCH: And here are some characters I never warmed up to:
1. Ray Barnett : His whole rock star doctor thing just got on my nerves.
2. Dave Malucci : Yuck.
3. Jing-Mei Chen: She was always a total one-upper.
Night&Day writer Nina Garin, is experiencing ER separation anxiety. Please send Kovac.

Thanks for posting. While I totally agree with the picks of Abby and Luka, as well as the comments about Mark and Morris, I disagree that Carter was "everyone's favorite". He was good in the early years, but for me he turned into a self centered, unlikable guy around season 9.
I have liked Noah Wylie in other things but he has never been good at romance and sexual passion (I guess it's hard to be compared to Goran). Maura can create chemistry with a rock (see Ray Romano) but even she had trouble selling passion for Carter. He and Kem were just bad. And I've been disappointed with Noah's acting in his return episodes this season. Last week was better when we was interacting with Benton, but the prior 3 episodes I got the feeling he was going through the motions and was fulfilling an obligation rather than really caring about the character and the show. He just didnt' "act" well with the new cast (Morris, Sam, Gates, etc). In the "What we do" episode, Scott Grimes and David Lyons clearly 'out-acted" Noah.
This isn't meant to be a bashing of Carter/Noah (I just saw "W" and he was good in that despite the small role). I just get tired of the "Carter is the best character ER has ever had" stuff. Otherwise I agree with the article.
