The split up was one of the many possibilities I listed there. None of them are good, if these rumors are true. And once it makes news listings, it probably is

If they decide to have Luka leave County, it better be for a good reason. Throughout this season, they have focused on the fact that Chicago is now home for Luka and that's where his family is and where he wants to stay. So if they're going to relocate him I hope it's a creative storyline and believeable within the arcs they have going on now.

Ssooo....his 'family' decides to move to Boston or Philly or New York....or Croatia. I would be happy with a scenario like that. Might be nice as they have both been kidnapped, shot at, kicked around and generally abused in Chicago. Fresh start somewhere else? Ride off into the sunset together....I would LOVE it. Then move Maura to that creepy show, The Black Donnellys, so I would actually CARE about one of the Irish clan that NBC is forcing on us. Sigh. Would be interesting to see her as a controlling mob moll.....heh heh.

If he leaves and Maura doesn't, they'll either cancel for next season at the last minute before filming (like they did for Dr Quinn, when Joe Lando wanted to leave)... OR they will kill him off. The 8 years of "lets get married/i dont want to/lets break up/i love you" blah blah blah.. only to be followed by a wedding.. and then a divorce when GV wants off and Maura doesn't? If Maura Tierney signs for next year, and Goran Visnjic doesn't-- we're looking at Luka death or last-minute cancellation.. and I'm not sure which is worse. I think the first. If Luka leaves, I may not even watch anymore. I can sort of see where you're going with that. It would be pointless for them to get married and then divorced and Luka leaves. But, I'd still watch if he left as long as Maura was there. haha.

The Black Donellys...bah. I have no respect for an Irish mob family NOT from Boston. *scowls* They should simply give her a show with a decent premise - say, she's a dark-yet-intruiging off-Broadway director and Eric McCormack (given their dynamic stage work in "Some Girls") is her overly zealous star with a penchant for showing up to rehearsal in various stages of disarray. And, of course, they've got a love affair going on. Or she's a renowned psychologist working with the most criminal minds in the country while hiding a torrid romance with a sociopath. Or something...

If Luka is not around then there better be a lot of hot juicy phone sex...! That is the only thing that will keep Luby alive Abby would maybe become Chief resident and take on more responsibilty and Morris,Pratt and Neela will have to pick up the slack in the storyline dept! Ray and Gates can't do much to improve and characters like Hope and Jane/Crenshaw are fairly two dimensional so they won't change either. I'm just not sure Abby can hold the mantle for the show and I would hate ..repeat hate a stupid Carter saves the day episode to boost the ratings... unless Luka appears in it too. But lets not count our chickies yet girls...there is hope isn't there..I mean we haven't heard a word from Goran as to whether he is leaving or not

Latest update from Ausiello:
Question: Is it 100 percent confirmed that Goran Visnjic won't come back (as a regular) for the 14th season of ER (Ask Ausiello 2/28)? What about Maura Tierney? Anything new on her coming back?— Alice Ausiello: I'd say it's 99 percent certain he won't be back as a series regular. And Maura is contracted through next season, so she's definitely sticking around.
at least we'll have abby as a regular next year...

I don't know what to do with Ausiello. I hope for his sake he's wrong. Or else. *shakes fist*

I really have a good feeling about Goran(well other than the usual ),i think he just might stick around, look at it from a logical point of view. Season 13 is almost up, by now contracts are a MAJOR issue for the networks, they need to get everyone signed,I think that if Goran was SO amped to leave then we would have had it in more definate terms by now.At least thats what im telling myself.

Well 1% is a lousy statistic. I have a theory that I'm looking into about his reasons for leaving, but it must be covert until I have more proof to back it up lest the media take my theory and run with it. Don't want to start any rumors, here. For his sake, he'd better pop in now and then for a Luby hookup, and he'd better watch his back. If I see that lousy Croat lurking around L.A. anytime soon, I'm going to have a few words for him. We're having a little fight right now, me and him. I've told him it's over between us, given his actions. More time for me and Maura, anyhow. But, yeah...dweeb. I'm really mad at him right now. On another note, I believe in order for ER to survive, they're going to have to bring in the big guns. And by that, I mean...yes. Noah Wyle. He's the only old face who'd return, and a new cast member to replace Goran just won't cut it. No, I don't think he'll come back and break up Luby (Carter is an ass, not a sleaze) and I don't believe they'll break Luby up even if/when Goran leaves. But...yeah. I think we'll be seeing Noah again.

Oh, poor Goran... he just going to have to fight with all of us... and I don't think he will survive... if he does, lets gat Maura to help him... Now, yeah.... maybe we'll se Carter again, though I prefer not... his face makes me nauseous, not because that I don't like him, but because his face is so... I don't know... commom... Dani
