Honestly, we don't know that he hasn't signed a contract similar to Noah's...yet. I think maybe he has. It will be up to TPTB to deal with him then...and I don't trust THEM totally. They aren't likely to favor lack of loyalty to THEIR work...and ER is their work. As for Maura...the play was worked in to her summer hiatus and the movies she has done are basically small potatos. ...albeit GREAT acting potatos. I think it comes down to where an actor sets their goals. Maura is apparently content with small roles in small films. MY consensus is that she is WORKING. Goran's loftier goals are aaparently for bigger pictures. It will be interesting to see what happens for him. I have stated before that I think his accent and his brooding looks will limit him somewhat in American film.

I agree with these posts 100% - I've stated it numerous times. While I love Goran, and I believe he is a wonderful actor, I too also believe he is not star material in the motion picture industry. He is limited to the parts he can play. Looks and acting ability do not a star make - he is typecast as playing a foreigner and would play such a part in the new Bond movie. He was hand picked for Luka's role based on his looks and accent, and the character appeal was being the foreigner learning and living a new lifestyle in a different country. ER actually taught him to speak English making it possible for him to pursue other projects. I'm hoping that he remembers this and remains loyal to the show and it's cast. It does seem he is quite close to a number of his co-stars, especially Maura and Scott. Also, other cast members may be leaving. Luka and Abby are the heart and soul of this show and I'm praying that season 14, which in my opinion, should be the last, goes out on a high note with our happy Luby family ending!!!

I don't think that is the case of him don't be loyal to the show and his friends... i think he will... in every interview that he made about a possible exit, he says that we will see Luka again... so, I think he will be loyal to them, yes...
Another thing is that, he wants to keep Luka with Abby, as the writers want... so why change it ?

I personally think that Goran should stay On ER (I'll admit he is a better TV Actor then Movie star) and see it out because i cannot see it lastly that much longer. As much as i love the show, i can possibly see one more season and therefore i see no reason for him to leave, he then could stick it out to the end, therefore keeping Luby intacted... I don't want to lose Luby!!! but am worried how they are going to write of his character?! they spent all this time getting them together, so to split them up would be stupid and unrealistic...

TPTB can be pretty fickle people. Get on their wrong side for what ever reason and they can seriously maim and/or crush your character. We have no idea what happened with Paul McCrane. THAT was a totally unexpected loss of a character that still had a lot of miles to go. Goran is basically walking out when his character is on a high in terms of screen time and story lines. What happens to him affects other characters...not the least of whom is Maura Tierney's Abby. I have no doubt that this is putting the entire writing and production staff in a serious tizzy. I wonder how long it will be before TPTB decide they can't write 'around him' any more??? Or want to give Maura more to do than be the long suffering wifey twiddling her thumbs as she pines to be near him??? As a fan fiction writer I can see LOTS of possibilities for a seperation scenario but we ALL know that television writers do not have the imagination of us 'little people'.

Hee hee.....he directed 'Blame It On The Rain'.....and that awesome scene with Abby and Dubenko when he propositioned her!!! I still don't know how they made it through that dialog without laughing their heads off.....hee. Thanks for the info on him. Maybe leaving the show was HIS idea after all?

It isn't a question of loyalty. Goran has given 8 years of his life to the show and is ready to move on - why should he stay if he feels he's done all he can with the character? He doesn't owe them anything, it's a job, and the people running the show know that.
I don't believe his departure comes as any surprise to TPTB. I think he's known about the possibility of the Bond role since testing for Casino Royale and from and so have they, what I've seen of spoilers they aren't scrambling to make something up for Luka's exit. The 5 or 6 episodes for next season will be more than enough to round things off and it's my firm belief that this will include a positive outcome for Luka and Abby.
As for what Goran makes of his career afterwards that's his business. There's more to life thatn America and in Europe his accent wouldn't be an impediment.

It's recently been posted that Goran has signed to do Saw IV, which should come out in October 2007.
I hope this is not the big project that has been referred to ... this is so beneath him as an actor. I thought the Elektra film was bad, but the Saw movies are B-rated horror films. All he probably has to do in this movie is get cut up and die!!! At least he'll have time to do ER as well.
If this is where Goran's movie career is heading, I hope he's thinking twice about these offers and in the future will be much more selective with his choices. There would be nothing wrong with being a television actor until the right part comes along for him.

IMDB is the most reliable as far as movies are concerned, and there's no mention on either his profile or the Saw IV profile.

It was posted on a couple of other sites by one of your regular posters. I'm hoping it is completely wrong, and I just checked myself and you are correct ... GV is not in the credits, thank goodness.
