Here's an update! I'm sorry it took so long to update. I've been really busy with finals and stuff. I hope you like the new update!
Liza was a sleep in Chuck’s arms. “Good to see you again, Chuck.” Abby said giving him a hug.
“You too.”
Abby stroked Liza’s cheek with the side of her hand.
Anna came running down the stairs. “Mommy, Avery wet my bed.” She was on the verge of tears.
Abby looked over at her. “I better take care of that.” Abby said looking up at Susan.
“Bye.” Susan said giving her a smile.
“Bye.” Abby started up the stairs. “I’ll call you.” Abby said as she took Anna’s hand and continued up the stairs.
“Sounds good.”
Luka watched as Susan and Chuck walked down the walk to their car. He closed the door over and walked over to Joe who was sleeping in his bouncer. He smiled as he carried him down the hall to his bedroom.
When Abby got upstairs Avery was sitting on Anna’s bed crying. “Mommy.” Avery held out her arms towards Abby.
“It’s okay sweetie.” Abby said picking her up. She rubbed her back as she held her.
“Mommy, my bed.”
“Okay, go downstairs and get daddy, while I get your sister cleaned up.” Abby carried Avery into the bathroom and sat her down on the counter. She pulled off her dress and tossed it into the hamper.
“I’m sowwy mommy.” Avery said rubbing her eyes.
“It’s okay, sweetie. It’s not your fault.”
Abby carried Avery back into the bedroom. Luka was standing in the doorway.
“What can I help you with?”
“Can you get her and Gracie ready for bed?” Abby said handing Avery over to him.
“Sure.”
“Looks like your sleeping with me and daddy tonight.” Abby said looking over at Anna.
Abby unlocked the door and let herself in. She had Joe strapped into the Snugli. Luka followed behind her holding Gracie. Abby tossed the mail onto the table. “Could you give me a hand?” Abby said starting to unbuckle the Snugli. Luka hit the button on the answering machine before walking over to help Abby.
“Hi, Luka. It’s Kerry. I need you to come in. Morris can’t make the graveyard shift. Call me when you get the message. Bye.” There was a beep and the next message came on. “Hi this is Ocean Wonder….” Luka hit the button to erase the message.
“Hi, Abby…” Abby was sitting on the couch with Joe. When she heard the familiar voice she looked up at Luka. “I was hoping I could see the girls. It’s been a while. Call me my numbers…”
“Erase it.”
“Who was that?”
“I’m gonna go put him down for a nap.” Abby said getting up from the couch.
“Abby?” Luka placed Gracie down on the couch before following Abby down the hall.
“Was that Richard?”
Abby dismissed the question and sat down in the rocker. “I don’t know why he’s calling.”
“When was the last time the Anna and Julie saw him?”
“Four years ago.” She paused a moment. “Julie doesn’t even know who he is.”
“Why is he calling now?”
“I don’t know.” Abby turned her attention back to Joe.
“Are you going to call him?”
“No.”
“He didn’t want anything to do with me or the girls.” Abby shifted Joe in her arms. “Do you think I should call him?” Abby said after a long moment.
“I think you should.”
“You don’t know what he was like.”
“Maybe he’s changed.”
“Richard will never change.”
“I think you should ask Anna if she wants to see him.”
