We have some information about "The High Holiday" which, at this time, appears to be 15-10. Christmas draws near, and the staff holiday tree has ornaments from Sam's history, and Haleh's, plus a momento from Frank. Surgery is hosting the annual holiday party and Frank is prepared to play Santa Claus.
Morris' cousin delivers a storage pod to the ambulance bay that contains Morris' father's left-over stuff. Morris doesn't want it and Jerry helps sell off the items while other staff members rummage through and find some things Morris must explain.
Neela is still facing the malpractice suit and Brenner tries to life her mood. Gates may have found his missing veteran, Max.
Sam is back after being away from work. While getting coffee at the Jumbo Mart, Sam yells at a man in a car whose young sons in the back seat are not using seatbelts. It seems Alex is still intubated and Sam convinces Dubenko to try to extubate him.
Renee is diagnosed with cancer while her partner, Natalie, (and a baby) is there. The couple is determined to be positive. Banfield notices their composure at the bad news and later comforts Natalie. Anspaugh doesn't want to operate on Renee and Banfield decides to try and change his mind.
Gloria is an undocumented worker who delivers a baby by c-section. The baby has a tumor on his neck and face, and will stay in the NICU for at least three weeks. Gloria will be turned over to immigration officials who will help with her post-operative recovery as they prepare her for deportation. Roberto, the husband, seems not to be of interest to the immigration people and take care of the baby after the tumor is removed.
Roxanne brought some "brownies" to the ER. Ryan and some of the other new residents ate a few. Banfield send them home.
