That was the perfect example of why this is show so much. It was heartbreaking and brilliant all at the same time. I was actually crying by the end. One of the best episodes this season. All the cast acted brilliantly. Branner especially. He did a brilliant job with the whole TB/Cancer storyline. Am really starting to like him. And the old guy, whos' name escapes me (sorry!!) am just amazed how can one person who we've never met before can have this effect? How he interacted with Dr Mogernstern and the rest of the cast without hardly any words was outstanding.
I loved the whole ER back in the 70's, for me it was quite emotional. Seeing the ER back then and then realizing this is the final season was quite sad!!
The only thing that nearly stopped my tears was the shot of Morris right at the end, with his 70's hair cut!! it was so funny. why did they put that there??

There hasn't been anything about Maura coming back, but at the same time, I haven't really heard anything about any of the other cast members who are coming back so it's possible that everything is just being kept secret to surprise us. I´m crossing my fingers to see Luka and Abby again or the actors in a very special show about ER. I´ve heard about Carter coming back even before he left.

I don't think they could have cast Sam's sister any better than they did. It was wierd...the vocal inflections, the mannerisms, the way she held herself when she was just standing. Sheesh. They were so TOTALLY alike! As for Mommy Dearest....severe emphysema and a stroke?? Has anyone had just a plain healthy, normal parent on ER? Maybe Doug's mom and Carol's mom???

That was a great episode- TPTB are so inconsistent with their writing and episodes...but in a good way in that sometimes u are well suprsied! - The flashbacks were so moving- they were great to see how far ER has progressed. A read nod to how they wanted to protray ER as a journey - I like Neela and Bremmer-he's really fitted in well and i think they make a great couple..there were hints of Luby-esque in the bit where they rub noses in the corridor! - Gates..eugh..i have never warmed to him. I think the wind changed and he was left with that permanent pout, can he do another look?! - Sam, I don't really care about watching more members of her crazy family. Since when was she thrown out the house and where did this sister come from?! (although i agree she was very well cast) All in all a great episode. Thanks, Christabelle!
ETA thanks for posting the promo too. I'm sensing we're watching history in motion here, it's good!

Sorry, but it's quite funny to see all the different spellings of his name. Can you guess which one is correct? Anyway: This was a great episode!
