Wo...Zelda....totally agree with you. I EXPECTED this kind of a performance from Maura. Her face was even more expressive than usual because her body was so encumbered and unavailable for her usual acting style. She never misses a beat but I was totally blown away by Goran. The range of his emotions...from being mildly perturbed that Abby would insist that he stay with Jerry to be devestated that she would send him away with the baby to being totally exhausted and worried in NICU with Kerry to his joy and eventual sadness/anger with showing off their baby to his mother and her hysterectomy news. WOW. HAve never seen that much from him on ER. I am really looking forward to seeing more from him. I was so wrapped up in the LUBY aspects, I am still dealling and reeling with Sam's sitruation. Some of those scenes were ruined for me because of the kid playing Alex. I am not sure who is coaching his acting but it's not good. LC on the other hand was everything she has always been....fiesty....combative....and a survivor. Tonight she was the ultimate survivor. Still....I watch ER for Luby so mayeb someone has caught on and will exploit that some more. : )

After endless hours of downloading, i finally watched it and all i can say is that it was brilliant, words can not describe how am feeling. Don't think that i have ever cried that much, not since Dr Greene died. The ending when Luka showed Abby the baby, sob..........I felt as though i was watching someone go though all that for real, then realising they just two fictional characters on a Tv show. The acting between Maura and Goran was wonderful, especially Maura. Her facial expressions just showed it all, priceless! and Luka in the Bathroom, i'll say know more......
Welcome back ER!

Well, finally I saw the episode and....OMG!!!What an episode!!I didn't cry as much as I thought I would..I was a little too spoiled.. But, anyway.... I used to consider 21 gund as the best episode of ER, but now I think this one is!That episode just was...can't describe it! And the actors, really deserve an Emmy!Maura, Goran(OMG when he cries at the bathroom)and Sam..when she shot Steve-WAY TO GO GIRL!Well, I know I sholuldn't be saying that, but hey!it's only a TV show! But I cried fot that TV show! All the Luby scenes were just so moving! They really love each other, and they can show it. I didn't think they were gonna be so expressive, but they were! WELCOME BABY JOE!!

Okay folks, I just had an epiphany. Luka had to choose between his bleeding to death partner or their dying child. Hmmmmm.....duh! Though the situation was in a controlled enviornment, Abby is not his wife and it was a boy this time--can you just imagine the gut retching angst that Luka felt. No wonder he freaked out in the bathroom!!!!! I was watching the eppy again cause I have nothing better to do, I came to this realization that it was just like when he chose to try and save Jasna as Danjiela bled to death. I think that is why he wanted to stay with Abby. But her mothering kicked in ( and she was afraid she wouldn't know how to be a good mom!!) and she sent him with the baby. This time, he can't save Joe any more than he could Jasna. God, how horrifying! I think part of the release in the bathroom scene was relief that at least this time his partner made it. Granted, she is scarred for life from the experience ( I mean by the hysterectomy moreso than the C section), but she is alive and that is half the battle. More kudos than ever to the writing staff for making me think and feel the way I have. I cannot wait until 9/28!!!!!!

I am not sure who is coaching his acting but it's not good. i totally agree with you. I have no idea why they changed the kid who plays Alex (anyone know?). I actually enjoyed the first Alex a lot, yes he was a pain in the ass, but the actor was really good, funny, cute when needed. This one imo is just a little robot, i dont see any real emotion coming from him in those scenes, plus hes not cute and ruined the character, would be better if he just disappeared... i know im being rude, hes just a kid but he needs lots of improvment! The scenes were brilliant though in spite of that, but i also watch ER for Luby and Sam most of the time annoys me but that doesnt make her acting any less brilliant.

Granted, she is scarred for life from the experience ( I mean by the hysterectomy moreso than the C section), but she is alive and that is half the battle. That is what I thought about the whole I watched this episode. Obviously that is what the writers were trying to do. They were trying to get the audience realise that it was like a "flashback" of his previous horrors in his life. It was some good writing but the best parts of the episode were just body language and of course the emotional scenes. I was in awe in at them! I made a few caps of some scenes I like: One + Two + Three, I loved how the camera panned down to that moment and then back to their faces Smiles + Smiles 2 + Just plain funny I love how he's stroking her face + Her face....so touching. + This just made me so emotional Goran is such a hunk when he's sad + So sweet + The simple hand touch + ParentsEdit: Ok I have just discovered that none of those will load...that's strange. I'll try and fix them. Edit Again: Ahh, now they load!

this is a few days late but that episode was the bes premiere i have ever seen! abby and luka made me cry and the baby was so tiny and looked so helpless and hopeless. i loved the scene where luka showed abby the baby in the video and the story behind the name joe is so heartening....i cant wait for next week, that episode seems as awesome as this one!

OH MY GOD!!! I've just been able to watch the entire episode and I'm in absolute awe! That was one of the best ER episodes I have ever, ever seen! It really felt like it was back to its best...completely! Maura and Goran were just fantastic, a true testament to their talents. Goran in that bathroom scene just tore me up...he was just stupendous! And Maura was as always, a star throughout! And that scene where he showed her joe through the mobile was just adorable. Here's hoping Joe will be perfectly OK!! Mungo?! How hilarious was that?! hee hee! The storyline with Sam was pretty suprising for me because I actually thought it was good. I'm not usually a fan of LC or of the character of Sam but I thought that this episode was good. The scene where she gets raped was just heartbreaking. A truly classic ER episode and I hope that those who were saying that ER was on its way out actually saw this episode!!

alrighty then....had another thought provoking comparison for Luka. In Canon City, he related to Sam the time he "lost" Marko at the beach. When he returned home, his wife had the kids in the bath and everyone was okay. He went to the kitchen sink and turned the water on so he could cry with no one knowing. I don't think I have to point out the coincidence there. He is an emotional man who has never really let anyone see him (except dying Cathlolic priests) in a state where he is not in control of his emotions. That is also what pissed off Sam in their doomed relationship. I don't think this is a bad thing, really. He must have been raised to be "manly". However, I think both he and Abby have gotten to a point where they can be honest, loving and supportive to each other in good and bad time. I am thinking he should-and will-cry with Abby next time. Anyways, just a thought that popped in my head today.

I have a kinda irrelevant question...when Coburn was doing the C-Section and said Abby had a huge abruption clot she pulled out a red thing, was that the placenta? I know it isn't really important but I was just curious becase it was kinda gross.

I wondered what that was too, and thought it was the placenta, but then I thought that it was a clot of blood...not sure though.

I think it was the clot of blood. But it sure made a loud noise when dropped into the bowl. I doubt the placenta would be that hard and Coburn was I think saying what it was while pulling it out.
I have a question: on AEB someone asked: "And did anybody point out that he said, "I love you"? " I didn't hear this at all, but then again I also didn't hear that he said Mommy when watching the video. Does anyone know if he did say that, and if he did where? Cuz that would make this episode even greater. Thanks.
