The show??? Premise is a character driven comedy about a radio station in New York. Dave Foley plays a farmboy transplant from Wisconsin as news director, Maura Tierney plays a sucess driven radio reporter/asst. news director, Stephen Root is the eccentric billionare owner of the station, Andy Dick is a very innocent... spaz, Vicki Lewis is a free spirited secretary, Khandi Alexander a sensuous on radio personality and Joe Rogan a very macho electrician. Phil Hartman was brilliant as the main radio personality and did 4 seasons of the show. In reality he was killed and they replaced him with Jon Lovitz for the 5th - and last - season. Episodes revolve around the happenings in the station. Funny stuff given the personalities that were there.

Oh my! I am so gonna DL this show! I would buy the DVDs but I have no money.. And I have to have ER DVDs first. (and that is gonna take a long time) I just found a clip, "Newsradio gag reel s1&2" And watched it.. Hee hee! I know the ones who have Newsradio on DVD have probably seen this.. But anyways. www.megaupload.com/fi/?d=QCMX3KCY(just insert the three letter code given there to the 'white box' and wait about 30 seconds, then start downloading. The clip lasts for about.. 12 mins) Love the bit Maura kissing Andy, and him being "Like that's gonna help!" I totally agree. "Well this is a gay scene!" "No, Joe, THIS is a gay scene!"

Season Five DVD SetYAY It seems there are commentary tracks on the season five discs, I thought they might not have them seeing Phill Hartman wasn't on it...but it sounds great! I hope Maura did some more. I am going to have to order this tonite!

I don't remember where I read it, but only Stephen Root and Andy Dick participated in them this time. I'll find the article. eta - here : hm... I'm sort of surprised theres no commentary on 'Bill Moves On'

Aww that is sad Maura wasn't commenting.
But that link I posted above said that there was commentary for Bill Moves On;
Commentary Tracks There are a bevy of commentary tracks on this three disc set. I chose to listen to the one for "Bill Moves On" simply because these things came as such a shock to me (based on the packaging I had no idea they were on here), I just chose the first one they offered. This features creator Paul Simms, Stephen Root, writer Josh Lieb and script supervisor Robert Spina. As there are so many people on here this track couldn't help but feel a little awkward at first as they talked about the episode, who was and wasn't an extra on the show, how bad their hair looked back then, and Maura Tierney's bra. The funniest part in my opinion came when Simms talked about leaving the show, and the new pilot he created scored a 4 out of a 100 with a test audience. Ouch!
