I guess it's even more difficult since her Rescue Me episodes aired around August, and by then the Emmy nominations were already in for September. It could go through for the next year though. I guess we shall see. She could be nominated in the 2011 Emmys for her 2010 guest starring. You never know. Same with the 2012 Emmys for what she is about to do this summer.

FX has confirmed that the final season of Rescue Me will begin on July 12th at 10pm.
With the finale airing on September 6th, that means we'll get all 9 episodes in a row without any breaks. Can't wait to hear for sure how many of those 9 will be Maura's and when they'll air. The last thing we heard was possibly 4 episodes, right?

I love that we have "Rescue Me" to look forward to -- I keep forgetting it's coming up in July. I'm surprised that not much in the way of spoilers has appeared. I suppose that's a good thing, though, considering I have virtually no self-restraint.

Very excited to finally see this storyline. It feels like years and years ago that she filmed it.

I bet I´ll cry like Joe kovac. I´m praying we get 4 episodes with Maura (that would be almost half the season). I have to buy this season´s DVD.
On a side note: I can´t believe we can buy "the cape" - a DVD with just 10 episodes. Considering TWT has 13 episodes, I wish we could have it too. Damn you ABC

I can not wait for Rescue me to air...although I only watch the episodes with Maura. Don't really care that much for the show itself, ehehe.
Not sure I'll be able to watch it though, if the rumour's right I will be bawling like a baby knowing she actually went through that in real life. I'm such a cry-baby when watching emotional scenes on TV or film.

Interesting to know! I wish we also knew in which episodes Maura will appear. Please don't let it be in the last 2 weeks of July!

Wednesdays works better for me, now I don't have to choose between the MLB All-Star game and the "rescue me" premere.

More Rescue Me news: insidetv.ew.com/2011/06/10/true-blood-weeds-rescue-me-spoiles/‘RESCUE ME’ CREATOR PETER TOLAN ON MAURA TIERNEY’S ‘BRAVE’ ARC Peter Tolan is more than ready to bring his A-game to the final season of Rescue Me, which wraps up later this summer, tied to the 10th anniversary of 9/11. And while a number of surprises await fans this season (a major death and a wedding, to name a couple), Tolan was especially excited about the deeply personal plot line that brings ER vet Maura Tierney back to the show as Kelly McPhee, who returns having survived breast cancer.
“Talk about brave,” he says. “When we found out she was having this health issue, we called her and said we wanted her back in the spring. But more than anything we wanted to say, ‘You have work waiting for you.’”
After pitching an initial concept to the actress, which found Kelly struggling with identity issues and “not feeling like a woman,” Tolan said a conversation with Tierney changed their entire outlook.
"She started talking to us about the entire process, what she went through, where her mind was, where she was when she was cured, and what her reaction was to it — it was pretty amazing. It changed everything and we changed everything based on what she said. She has balls of steel to do this.”
But while Tierney’s character’s story is one of survival, Tolan says, the season will also ask the question that’s been burning in fans’ minds since the series’ beginning. “Everybody’s been wondering for all these years: Tommy Gavin survived 9/11, but would he, ultimately, survive it?” he says.

On July 12th, Denis Leary will be a guest on The View. I guess he'll talk about the Rescue Me final season. I wish Maura Tierney could join! I hope he will at least mention her

from Twitter: Bruce Fretts: I'm three episodes into the final season of Rescue Me, and it's as good as ever. And Maura Tierney is sen-freaking-sational.
@brucefretts Could you please tell me if she appears in all 3 first episodes? Thanks !
@maurasnr1fan She's not in the first episode, but she's in 2 and 3
@brucefretts Thank you so much! Bad timing for me though. I'm just away for the holidays when her episodes air I could have known
