Whatever she said in that interview she has also said that she's in the fence about whether to re-sign. I hope she doesn't because I don't think there's anything more they can do with the character, but I'd also say that the writers' idea of "intact" may not be ours. Remember, carbies everywhere still think Abby is only half alive without Carter.
Thinking positive won't change anything; however, the fact that Luka and Abby have been mentioned actually makes me hopeful that we might get a few decent "two hander" scenes with them.

Well, Maybe Neela's storyline with the dying mother will translate into a 'you have to fight for them' kind of rally to Abby. I think Maura was raring to get back to work though. And I am also on the fence about watching a 15th season...even with Abby without Luka. She is the ONLY reason I watch the show these days and I am afraid this sttrike has enabled me to break my Thursday night 'habit'. I am actually going to bed earlier. It might take a lot to keep me awake past 10 pm. These current spoilers?? Just ain't gonna do it. Heh.

ahem...timeline? is this supposed to be happening during the two weeks abby went to see luka? so that means it's late january- early february, right? so...it was expected that they don;t appear in this episode- yes, a boring one. Whether MT renews or not is the big if that's hanging above these two. But I'm not so sure they split them and still be in-character with Luka. If they scene with the photo isn't cut (like they did with Abby talking to Pratt about Luka in "Believe the Unseen"), then I'll have no doubts about their future...ok...I will but smaller. I got that Maura likes the show a lot and she invested a lot in this character but even her fans said that this won't be a good move for her career, to go down along with the show and I agree wholeheartedly here. Not to mention character development. Dating again? Being a single mother? Problems at work , coping with her first year as an Attending or going to AA? They've done the 'single woman with kid/s' both with Carol and Elizabeth, in two different ways. I'm not lobbying for Luka/Abby semi-happy ending as the only viable solution but my imagination doesn't run that wild to come up with plausible scenarios. I guess it remains to be seen... I think that next weeks' spoilers will include Abby and if they stick to the schedule and Goran has three more episodes they're going to be ok. I'm not sure that we'll see Abby in the season finale - if Maura leaves - because there's already news about a new character, plus the remaining ones so that the finale will have to focus on a cliffhanger with them, not the end of an era like they did when Carter left. I mean, Carol left one episode before the finale, so did Mark... I think I've just written fanfiction above...and not the good type...

And Sam.
If GV only has three episodes it wouldn't surprise me to see those devoted to resolving things with Abby. I think they'll get their happy ending - but I've been wrong before!

I have to agree ... we will get our happy ending. Also, based on history, IMO, the majority of written reports are never completely accurate. They are second hand and whether right or wrong, reporters put their own spin to the report; interject their own opinions; and actually leave complete sentences out so as to keep the outcome ambiguous. That's actually the reason I prefer to rely on what the actors say in personal interviews or their direct quotes.

oops spoiled again! i just had to know whats happening as we're waiting for too long. I wonder what the time scheme is for maura deciding, got to be soon to write a decent ending for her like she deserves- imagine if it was like susan suddenly disappearing into a black hole, that would be such a disaster! imo luby's ending totally depends on her contract- if she leaves then it would be absolutely fine to end it happy esp as he has 3 more eps but if she stays and he has already left there seems no way of having a credible storyline with them not living together and i imagine that would be the end of luby. I'm so torn- in one way i'm kinda glad they're sowing the seeds of doubt with luby as (if my theory is correct!) maura might be staying but on the other hand i also think it would be good for maura to get some career progression, can't really see how they r going to take abby from here, and to see a happy luby ending would be great. i don't know, guess we'll have to see but i reeeeally hope she gives her answer soon!

Ok, optimism is my second name.
If MT re-sign her contract: it could be a shorter one, giving her time to make movies (like Noah). In this case, it would not be necessary a lot of arcs -
possible arcs: - Conection with her dad; - Finish her residence and start as Atending - Kick Sam´s butt - she could be giving Abby a hard time, just because of her alcoholism...
In all these cases, Luka and Abby could be together. He could leave County... (maybe working in a private clinic to have more time to spend with his family)....
In this case Maura would be on the show til the end, getting her millions and able to do movies.
Of course, there´s the "dream" scenary: Wells and co., using miraculous power, convince Goran to get back for more 4 or 6 episodes in the 15. season.

sissa i totally like the way you think, thanks for infecting us with said optimism! i guess the reason they're holding back from the dad storyline is the fact they've done it with doug and pratt relatively recently. But hey, i dont mind- it intriugues me cos can see great maura acting and the actor who played her dad was great!
which stage is abby? was she R3 at the end of last season, so would be R4 now? doesnt that mean she could be chief resident? fantastic storyline that would be!

Heh...I doubt if they will give her Chief Resident. A recovering alcoholic?? They went that route with Carter. She has too many issues that they are aware of. Maybe that would be the catalyst for Luka staying away?? To give her room to let her finish her residency. I think having her do that would be just as important to him as to her. I just want to know that they are happy together somewhere. I'd rather have him in the background in Chicago rather than in Croatia somewhere.

With Abby's issues (little drinking problem, I mean) only in teevee Land she'd be allowed to be Chief Resident. And I really don't think she';s the type (you might say Morris wasn;t either but that's another story).
I agree though that the storyline with her dad is the only thing that had no resolution up to this point (ignoring the Luka factor) but again, been there, done that. Also, Luka working somewhere else is a great scenario, but he's not the private clinic type. Another hospital, yes. But if they really go there...well...I just hope they don't. Either way, I am very confident that both GV and MT will appear in the series finale.Oh, if their characters don't get smacked by a meteorite by then. I might be wrong...again..
You know what I'd really like to see? Abby saying to Luka, sheepishly and a bit sad something like..admitting that he's her IT, whatever that might mean, in a very Abby way, without being cheesy. That would shut up a various number of people *cough* carbies *cough* but I know it's never going to happen.

And I would like to hear Luka admit that as well. I still have issue with the length of time he was in Croatia without them. As much as I want them to resolve the cheating issues, I have no desire to hear her say the words to him. I just want their resolution to happen quickly. I can NOT bear the thought of another season with it dragging on. Abby can have other angst - work, daddy, whatever - just leave Luka out of it. Let them have that personal happiness.....
