Hi, that's awesome Maura will be in NYC better chances to see it than in LA.
Marco, thank you SO much for the link. I started to read the play yesterday and so far, so good. I LOVE the fact Maura chooses her projects/roles beyond the straight girl she is always typecasted on TV. I love to see her curse and play different characters. Hope she plays one of the main characters now. In relation to sex, that's OK it is the material. I just don't like the drug thing, 'cause we all know who sponsors the drug dealers and traffic.
Another topic, should we all read Martine's list of questions we all wanted Mantell to ask her? If everyone who sees the play ask her a couple of questions from the list, we may have an answer for all of them! Of course we will come up with new ones.

I should check my list again and make some changes because some questions aren't really accurate anymore. Also, there is a possibility that I'll go to New York myself. In that case, I was planning on taking the list of questions with me and who knows ...

Wow, that's a really cool looking theater! Kind of makes me glad to be seeing it in NY, though - the theater looks more intimate than the one in LA.
If we don't have any TDWD members going to LA, I'm hoping some media shows up on opening night and gets pics for us. We haven't had a new pic since she went to see Stamos in BBB in October.

Well, I just finished reading the version of North Atlantic in the link provided by Marco. It was...interesting. This is why I'm not an actor or writer, I can't imagine how that will play out on stage. But with Frances McDormand and Maura acting, I have no doubt that the performances will be very good, in whatever form they and the director interpret the play.
Has anyone figured out who will play which character? While reading I assumed Frances would play Ann, but it wasn't clear to me who Maura would play. I wonder if this version of the play will change some of the male characters to female?
Just an FYI, the LA production of North Atlantic will be in the CalArts Theatre, which is a small theatre within the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex. It won't be in the main concert hall which is portrayed in the link above. I have been by this place and it's amazing, they hold the Emmy's there now. I do have friends in LA ( I grew up there) who have been in Cal Arts and they say it's a very nice theatre. I am trying to talk my friend (he is a film editor) into going to the play and giving me a review to post here.
I'm bummed that I'll be in NYC next weekend, but there is no way I can make it back for Maura's NYC run of North Atlantic. I'm counting on everyone here for some reviews and Maura pics. Keep your eyes out for some of her ER friends, and maybe (?) Michael. I'm curious if they are still together after all she has been through recently.

Thanks for the info. I already suspected it wouldn't be in this big hall coz I couldn't find anything about the play in their calendar. And a smaller theater is indeed a lot more cosy. I haven't finished reading the whole story yet. I got to admit it's kinda hard to understand for a 'foreigner' I also wonder who Maura will play.

The Wooster Group is on Twitter. I asked them about Maura's character but no word yet. Can you all help? There is a pic they published and I wonder if it s Maura during rehearsal. The person does look like her but I am not sure. I am terrible in recognizing people; I almost missed her during 3 Changes one time, I could tell it was her in the crowd because of her voice!!! twitpic.com/wu5u4twitter.com/TheWoosterGroup

Cool Thanks Aida! It's a weird pic. It looks like a reflection in a mirror or is the stage so sloping (is that the right word?) But I think our Maura is there at the top left side

The Wooster Group posted another picture saying: "Almost ready for NA in LA." twitpic.com/z1byjI think that is Maura on the top left in the skirt, but again, like the other picture it is very hard to tell! I hope they keep them coming!!

I believe its her up there - omg, the last time we saw her was sooo long ago. Yeap Martine, they took one pic from the mirror´s reflection. Even pics of this play are kind of weird. This must be super fun for Maura. I´m so happy! Btw, Loopyallie said she would talk to adm-forums to create a section to North Atlantic. Hope they make it soon.

Both the pics kinda look like her, especially the 2nd one, but it's so hard to tell.
And yeah, this show looks like it's going to be....interesting. LOL
Thanks for letting us know they're on Twitter! I joined their page on Facebook and they have a ton of pictures posted, but they're all from old performances (except that 1st picture that was posted here). There's also a Matt Tierney who's involved with the group somehow - he shows up in a couple of the pictures.

The pics sure do look like her. If they are of her, those are the first ones I've seen of her since she and Linda saw Bye Bye Birdie.

I'm so happy to know that she's definitely back to work. And I'm happier to see her hair is normal, natural .. because I was SO afraid to see her with no hair or short .. anyone understand me?
