When my aunt had cancer, she always loved to wear head scarves - she liked to accessorize them with whatever outfit she was wearing LOL Yep. Nothing can take away from that face and that pout. I don't think anybody was shocked by the *idea* of her losing her hair, but I think actually seeing it for the first time was a little difficult only because it's tough to see somebody you care about dealing with tough stuff. It doesn't change a single thing about how much we love her - if anything, I think it shows just how much we care and how sorry we are that she had to go through this. But what I love most about this board is that we can all come here and have different opinions and different reactions to things, but at the end of the day, the one thing we can all agree on is supporting Maura 100% no matter what. She kicked cancer's ass and if that doesn't deserve a big bouquet of flowers, I don't know what does!

All I have to say is: Maura could have no hair, a lot of hair, blue hair, short hair, long hair, etc. And we would STILL love her. It's not her looks we love (well her looks are good looks) but we love HER as a person and as an amazing actress. Maura is Maura, always and forever. Our girl is going to rock in this show, and I can't wait for it!!

(This may be why we've had no sightings, people may not be recognizing her in a wig or hat or without hair)
And knowing her....she is probably LOVING that part of this whole thing. LOL

Wow, there are a ton of pics there! Thanks for the link! There are shots of Maura with her wig, without it, with a hat, with a wig *and* hat - and one of some guy wearing her wig LOL. This show looks insane! When I click on some of the links more than once, different shots will pop up - not sure why that is. Edited to add: I like this one - with the pout in full effect.

Finally they released more info and pictures. At first I was shocked to see her now. No hair, wig and no eyebrows?
NOW I understand why she wanted to be part of this play. Like you all mentioned later about the History and how/why the Wooster Group presentations are so unique, strange and really on the indie side, it all makes sense. That's why I LOVE Maura SO MUCH!!!! and now I will try everything I can to see the play. She did her treatment and it is not trying to hide or stay away from her work and exposing herself.

I'm just so proud of her, and I have to say, she looks like she is happy and having a good time (from the little we have been shown). I cannot wait to see this.

Man, what a shock! Now excitement! Only MT to spark all kinds of emotions. If this is not a spoiler, and if it is please erase this post, I think Maura plays different roles. That's why her clothes change and the wigs too. If you read the play it will make more sense.

I didn't know whether to post this or not put I decided to just do. I'm really glad to hear she's doing better now. I can understand that some of you find it hard to see that Maura lost her hair, probably just because you care a lot about her and it's not always easy to see people have something that's painful/hard/etc that you care about. But deep inside you're probably all glad she's doing fine, that's the most important. Losing your hair is very hard, I had cancer for a few years ago and losing my hair was one of the hardest most painful things. But it can grow really fast. My hair is very long now already (think about how much your hair grows in a month). You can also see it a little from the bright sight, how horrible it is to lose your hair, when it grows back you've got really 'new' hair, it's very soft and beautiful. It's still a horrible thing, don't get my wrong but it was 'one' nice thing for me about it. Maura's a very strong woman, already working when you just had treatment, I'm really proud of her! I hope she'll feel only better and better from now on and I wish her all the best.

Thanks for posting this Suus.
I was also very shocked yesterday when I saw these pics. Not because she would look bad or anything but because we now know for sure that she actually needed chemotherapy. I guess until now I always kinda blocked that possibility out of my mind. A friend of mine also had breastcancer but she didn't need chemo so I always kept hoping Maura wouldn't have needed it either.
Knowing this, and seeing these new pics of the rehearsal, I only admire Maura even more than I already did. God, she is so devoted to her work, doing all this so soon after treatment.
You can count me in for the flowers Tara, she deserves them more than ever !!!

I have posted all of the pictures of Maura from the North Atlantic rehearsals on facebook in my group if anyone is interested: www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2262128328There are a lotttt, I spent some time looking through them on The Wooster Group's wedbsite. And it is a very confusing website, because when you click the same link again, another picture comes up.
