I TOTALLY freaked out my husband and my family when I booked the trip to NYC to see 'Three Changes.' He couldn't even bring himself to drive me to the airport to make it easier for me. The fact that I was meeting with two internet friends there was SO scary to them. In retrospect - it was the greatest adventure of my entire life! Be spontaneous. Scrape together the money and DO it.

Oh, thank you so much for review. Now, I really want to see this play, right now. Just a question .. Maura appears naked? I didn't understand this part. No, no, no sweetie! She's NOT naked in the play. Its just at one point the ladies walk up the stage (the stage is like a hill, not flat), and they do a quick wardrobe change. I was watching them walk up it, wondering what they were going to do next, and then they started changing clothes. That's when I thought, "Okay...that's interesting.....never seen/heard of complete wardrobe changes on stage before." (They took their blouses and bras off because they were changing into strapless dresses. Maura had her back turned, so she was not naked infront of anyone. ) I was a bit surprised by the dress change, but I turned and focused my attention on the cute actor who was talking. I knew the wardrobe situation might raise eyebrows here and I felt weird posting it, but really, how could I leave that out? Then I started thinking I probably saw the women better because I was sitting in the fourth row and my eyes were looking up, as opposed to sitting higher looking straight... Maybe the people higher up couldn't see the top of the stage? Possibly blocked by a curtain?....Then I remembered at the end, the women end up on the top for their final pose, so everyone could see up there. I also forgot to mention, they threw their bras down the stage after they took them off. They kept tossing their props down the slope after they had no use for them. I think it was too hard to run off the stage and change and get back quickly. It would have been like jumping off a mountain and climbing back on in a minutes time, all while changing clothes. Perhaps the stage will be set up differently in New York... I doubt it though. A lot of their dance moves are sliding down that thing. Maura had a scarf on her head, nothing fancy, just a regular handkerchief. I believe she even took it off once and put it back on again. And I have to say, after seeing her with those two different wigs on during the play, she's so much prettier without them. She doesn't need a wig, she's cute bald. And she does have some hair. It looks like a buzz cut one would get when going in the armed services. There's an idea...hmm...I'm only 20 minutes away... LOL. I would not have been so apprehensive about bothering her that night if I hadn't felt so out of place. I was in a room with a bunch of theatre freaks and here I am, the one person who came to see a celebrity I admire. I didn't want to draw attention to myself by snapping away with the camera and have everyone think I was nuts. If I would have carried in those flowers, they really would have stared me up and down. I was hoping someone would have asked for an autograph or picture from any of the actors, but no one did. It was like everyone in the room were friends and I was the uninvited guest... And I didn't know if Maura would want to take a picture.. I think she looks good, but I don't know if she wants pics of her taken while bald... But I should have snapped one when all the actors came out for their bow.. I wasn't thinking. But you know what? I went to see Maura perform. And I did. And she was great. And that's good enough for now. I'll meet her another time I'm sure.

Hey I created a blog for my New York adventure ;D newyorknewyork.skynetblogs.be/I just hope I'll have internet access there, otherwise this won't be very useful. Anyway, I hope you'll like it and if you have any other suggestions or questions, just let me know. Thanks! B.t.w. I like the clocks (though it's one hour later in Belgium), if I may say so myself ;D

Thank you for sharing! I bookmarked your blog so that I can read all about your experiences. Chances are, you will have wireless internet access somewhere you go, just by picking up a random signal in a Starbucks or something. Hotels usually charge $ so be sure to ask beforehand! The countdown begins!!

What a great idea! And I checked out your hotel from the link you put in and it says "Complimentary Wi–Fi High–Speed Wireless Internet Access " so I think you're in luck! I won't be going until a couple of days later so I'll be able to read all about your adventures before I go.

Great idea Martine! You must be so excited... I think I would go mad if I had the chance for such an experience! And I like the clocks too. And you're right about the Begium/Dutch/French time... It's still the summerclock instead of the winterclock.

I don't have a laptop, but I suppose there are internet cafes right? My daughter has a brandnew laptop but she's not to keen on me taking it to the States which I understand, she just got it for her Christmas. But I'm asking around to see if anyone has an old laptop that I could take with me.

Call me crazy, but I went back and saw the play again. Much older crowd second time around, which I enjoyed, despite the fact they were way older than me. They weren't the artsy types, but a lot of casual viewers. The older gentleman next to me fell asleep though. I asked him how he could do that with all the loud music and sound effects, and he said it was hard, but he managed. LOL. okay.... I was determined to take pics to share with you all, but after taking one shot of the cast, after the show had already finished, a man came up to me and told me no pics were allowed. I didn't want to get thrown out, so I saved my camera and never pulled it out again. As Maura was leaving, people kept coming up to say "hello." I was able to get her attention for a second and told her I thought she was great and I enjoyed the show. She thanked me. And I gave her this gift bag I had for her that had this big, pretty box of chocolates and a card inside. She thanked me for it and said she would share it with the other girls. (But seriously, she is so damn tiny, she could eat that 2 pound box herself and still look good.) Then I asked if she could sign this "Luka and Abby fan's ER DVD." And as she was signing, I say something like, "I'm what you called a Luby appreciation society fan." I don't know if she heard me because she didn't say anything.... or maybe she did and thought I was nuts. LOL. (I'm only a little crazy.lol) I didn't get a picture with her, but that's okay. And I didn't get much time, and that's okay too. She's a busy, popular girl and there were others there who wanted to see her, even though the place was pretty empty. No one else asked for an autograph or anything. (L.A. people... you know how we are.) I'll probably retire now from seeing this play. LOL. I think I got my Maura fill for the next year or two. But I will remember how she kept thanking me and smiling the whole time. FYI- for those who want to know, Maura didn't have anything on her head.. no scarf...no wig...nothing. Just bald and beautiful, which I loved.

Crazy ? NOOOO It's only normal that you went back to see her ;D I'm really glad you got a chance to talk to Maura now, must have been very exciting. I'm very curious to see your pic though! Did you take it in the theater? I suppose it's not allowed to take pics in there but I guess they don't mind taking pics outside, do they? Anyway I'm glad you went back. I have the impression you feel a lot better about your second visit

Chris, I'm so happy that you had the chance to go back and get to meet her! And don't worry about not getting pics - getting to talk to Maura is the main thing! Oh, and if going to see it twice makes you crazy, it makes me crazy too - I've got tickets for two nights and might even go back with some other friends to see it a third time LOL
