Here's a link to a new interview with Erika Christensen, who's playing Julia on the show. I'll just copy the part where she talks about Maura's character. As to her character's relationship with her siblings, Christensen said, "There's some sibling rivalry between the girls – me and Maura Tierney's character. I'm the youngest and I'm the hot shot. But she's Daddy's little girl and she's the favorite. So you can't beat that. As much as a hot shot as I am, that's the problem. She's Daddy's little girl, no matter how successful I am – and how unsuccessful she is. The great thing about the family too is they have a good way of communicating with each other and trying to laugh through the tough bits." tv.ign.com/articles/989/989623p1.html

thanks for the info Tara, During the "in front" interview thing, they seemed to be in character, Maura talking and hugging her "father", while Christensen was also there but not with dady. She talked about 6 or 7 years, I really can see the show going as long as this ( or more) the only one I can imagine leaving is Dax, but his character isn´t supose to leave in the film too? So, it´s no that hard to write him off after a few years. One thought just crossed my mind, when will have dvds of this show? Man, am I ansious or what?

Everywhere you look...Hollywood is popping up near youBy Danielle Samaniego June 12, 12:52 PM That’s one great thing about the industry--it is always finding new projects to base in our fair area. That includes two big television shows recently picked up for NBC’s fall schedule, Trauma and Parenthood. The first centers on the trauma staff of the fictional San Francisco General. The other is based on the Ron Howard film of the same name and follows the travails of one family who calls Berkeley their home. ... The thing is TV pick-ups beget locale shoots and locale shoots can often beget actors on our local streets. Trauma is set to film in San Francisco often and Parenthood star Peter Krause lives in the area. That means it’s possible someone might run into Kruase or Maura Tierney at a farmer’s market or Peet’s. And don’t be surprised if Trauma star Derek Luke is grabbing a cookie next to you at Specialty’s. Not that there aren’t plenty of celebrities calling the Bay Area home now, but it’s cool to think that they might show up working our streets too, so to speak. www.examiner.com/x-12068-SF-Celebrity-Examiner~y2009m6d12-Everywhere-you-lookHollywood-is-popping-up-near-you Someone knows if they will make the show in San Francisco, or it was just the pilot?

One thought just crossed my mind, when will have dvds of this show? Man, am I ansious or what? It appears to be current practice to rush shows into dvd circulation as soon as a season is finished. The rights for that are insured when filming begins apparently. The problem we ran into with ER is that so many seasons had passed before dvd circulation proved to be so lucrative. They started securing rights for season one first and continue onward.

Playing around on Twitter - it appears that most reviewers didn't receive a copy of Parenthood from NBC to review, even though NBC claims to have sent it out along with two other pilots, "Community" and "Trauma." That seems a little odd to me, but hopefully it's just some weird coincidence and we'll start getting some reviews soon.

Finally found a critic who's seen the finished pilot. I asked her what she thought of it and this was her reply:
AmyTVGal@tarasproles Parenthood had potential. Has the cast to make it a potentially great show. The pilot rambled a bit but that can be fixed.
I'm really not surprised that she thought it rambled a bit, since the Bravermans are a big family and there were a lot of characters and stories to introduce us to in just an hour. But I'm really looking forward to reading more detailed reviews from other critics.

When I went on Twitter to search on Maura I got that same critic who posted her status as:
Watched Parenthood. Peter Krause, Maura Tierney, Sam Jaeger, Mae Whitman . . . great cast. Will 2nd time will be the charm for this remake?

Personally, I think the timing is more right to make this a hit. People are beginning to tire of reality and are hungry for something family oriented.

I think that scene with her son looks great, too - can't wait to see the whole thing!
And there's a place under the clip for comments, might be nice if we were all able to post something about how much we're looking forward to the show and to seeing Maura.
