This NY Post article talks a little bit more about Maura: ... This show should have debuted in September, but after the pilot was shot, Maura Tierney, cast in the Sarah role, was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to drop out. That's a real shame, because she was the best thing in the original pilot. While everyone is terrific, Tierney brought it to another level. Graham's Sarah is more frenetic than the low-key Tierney's version, but kudos to Graham for stepping in and making Sarah her own. Solid stuff all around. www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/tv/under_the_hood_fyTfjB0qlPZ4Jd2SpNmSCI

Ok .. I'll say something .. I can't stand parenthood anymore .. I won't watch and I hope this serie be canceled soon. I can't see Lauren there, becuase everytime I saw her there, makes me so sad and angry. I don't know why, but that's how i'm feeling. Because this is Maura's role, and the life was so unfair with her. I'm not vingative, i'm only sad ... I can't let it go now, i'm so angry with the life. I don't know how the series going to be, but I won't watch and I don't deserve a "long life" for it.
And i'm most angry, because the actress that I used to admire doesn't even mention Maura's name in interviews ... nothing! Seriously guy, i'm so sad ... and it had been "ok" for me until today, I wasn't care about it .. but today, when I opened my email and I received almost 20 emails about it, saying the premiere is today .. was so over to me my heart is totally broke, because it was for us to be celebrating the premiere today .. !! sorry guys, i'm so sad, really .. I now I have no reason for it, but .. sorry, really.
Sorry about that, but I needed to say it!

That's alright! Everyone was looking forward to this show from last year when we heard Maura was cast in it, but of course now things are so different. But there will always be another great script and Maura will find an even more amazing role in the future. As heartbreaking as it was for Maura to have to drop out of the show, I bet this will lead to some incredible and unknown opportunity for her.

Maura gave this script, this show and this cast her thumbs up when she accepted the role of Sarah. She obviously put her heart into it when she did the pilot. I think she would be a wee bit disappointed in us - as her fans - for being so negative about the show itself....just because she made the decision that the time was not right for her to do it. Its television, people. Pilots are reshot ALL THE TIME with different people in key roles. Granted, she was the best thing there but I think she would clap us up side the head for not supporting a team of people the worked just as hard as she did to pull the show together. If you can't bear to watch it because it's no longer HER show then just DROP IT. Flip the channel to 'The Good Wife' and watch yourselves some 'Carol Hathaway.' Frankly, I am sick of the whining and moaning and groaning that continues here. No need to say it - or flame me. I am stepping away from this thread because I no longer care.

I said that I'M not going watch it because it's make ME sad. If everyone here wants to watch the show, ok .. I think it'll be great show .. I'm saying that I can not watch it, each one has a way to react, and my way to react is negative. I'd not feel good watching it.
And I don't know why, you guys, still posting things about the show and why this section is still here. Maura is no longer in the show, and it'd have to move to off topic. Everything I said, It's my opinion.
I just opened my heart and said what I was feeling. I had an outburst.

You may no longer care, but I suspect you'll be checking back for replies to this, so here's mine. If you're sick of our "whining and moaning and groaning", I'll say that I'm sick of your rude, condescending behavior towards so many great posters here. Fe was just saying how she felt and she was doing it respectfully without lashing out at anyone here. For her or anyone else to get their hand slapped or told to "drop it" or "go watch yourselves some Carol Hathaway" just for expressing an opinion is just uncalled for. I hate when there's dissension around here because I love this place, and I apologize to everyone for saying this here on the board rather than privately via PM, but I wanted to speak up for Fe since I share her opinion that it's too painful for me to watch or read about the show. If the mods feel the need to delete my post or ban me, I understand completely.

Today is a tough day for all of us who are really serious Maura fans. The Parenthood situation is very emotional, and I think that's what is coming out in these posts, and that's o.k. regardless of how you feel about the show.
Just one thing I want to remind all of us who are native English speakers/writers: for a lot of our friends on this board English is a second language, and a very difficult language to interpret. When writing in a second language the tone and meaning can be difficult to convey, and doesn't always come out the way it was intended. Just a reminder to consider this when reading/interpreting a post from someone for whom english is a second language.

I think I will watch it, to give it a chance. Of course, I am upset that Maura is no longer in it, but I liked the idea from the beginning and I'll give it a chance. I also loved "Gilmore Girls" and Lauren Graham. So, as I told my family, after Maura left the show, they cast the one person who could make me still want to watch it. I hope it's good, although I agree it will never be what it would have been with Maura in the role. I do hope she picks a new TV show soon though! Assuming she is feeling better, which I hope she is. "North Atlantic" is a good sign.

Well, I´ll post articles mentioning Maura, like the last one that talked a little bit more about her (not all saying the same thing or just she droped the part...was replaced by LG...). I posted the whole thing at Maura´s archive and just her part here.
Anyway, Parenthood is part of her career. She may not be part of it anymore, but I can´t ignore her past.
There´s no doubt in my mind that - to me - the show would be great and I would follow it religiously if she were Sarah.
And I´m sure I´ll be saying to myself how great Maura would be every time I hear, read or watch something "Parenthood" related.
Yeah, I can´t let go, and never will. To me Paolo Rossi killed my world cup dreams and is a bad bad man till now- 28 years later folks. No, I´m certanly not someone who drops things. I understand Fe perfectly... maybe it´s a brazilian thing.
It certanly was heartbreaking to me read so many great reviews of her work in Parenthood´s pilot and not have a chance to watch it with her. But I feel that Maura´s work in Parenthood - as small as it was - may have a good impact. All those people talking about how great she was in the pilot can´t be ignored. It is - if nothing else - good publicity.

That is my thought too, when Helen Hunt was mentioned, I was ready to give up. Now that Lauren is in the show, my interest was back. I thought the producers really wanted ME to watch the show when they picked my second favorite actress to fill in for my favorite actress. It will be interesting to see how different the Sarah scenes will be. I saw the "please stay out of jail" scene on a commerical last night and it is now played as Sarah begging her daughter to stay out of jail. Instead of the more scrcastic delivery Maura had.

Glad some people understand me. Tara said what I've been wanting to say. My intention with my topic was only to share with everyone what i've been feeling about this and give opinion. And yes, Larue, I'd rather watch "The Good Wife", and it's a such good show, and I'm sick about your rudeness here too. But it doesn't matter, I love being here, and I don't want to make any type of stress here. Sorry for everyone if I said anything wrong or If I made someone angry.
Like you said Sissa, it's so heartbreaking to read all the news that has been coming in my mail .. and I really wish being celebrate her premiere in Parenthood today .. and I need to let it go and forget, but I can't now. Today, when I opened Just Jared and saw the show in the background and a clip of it in top, the same scene that Maura's made, made me cry and get angry with life .. ok, I finished it, i'll not complain anymore. Thanks who understood me and gave me a "shoulder" to cry. LOL
I love everyone here, and I love being here. And I'm sure our girl will shine more then she's already shine.

I think she would be a wee bit disappointed in us - as her fans - for being so negative about the show itself.... Humm, I don´t think so. Someone who met Maura (at that creative party), told her she would not watch ER without Abby and Maura just laughed and said "thanks". She´s easy going.

Ok, so I watched it...it was okay. Nothing to sneeze at. I kept picturing Lauren's lines the way I thought Maura would have said them. If Maura was still in the show I do think I would have liked it better. We'll see whether I watch again. I like Lauren...but she's just no Maura.
