okay so im just going to ask, does anyone watch this? And if so do you think i should? I was put off when Maura wasnt in it any more tbh :/ The pilot was hard to watch for obvious reasons!! But on a whole am really enjoying this show. There are some really good characters/storylines and once you get past the pilot your see this. Its obvious they have adpated the character of Sarah to fit LG acting and i really hate to this but LG is starting to grow on me!! I hated her to being with, her acting, the fact she wasn't Maura! But now she's OK, not my favourite character on the show but she's watchable!!

I started watching it and I am really starting to love a lot of the characters. The story lines are very good and believable. It happens to be a very good show, so I would recommend it to anyone!

Interesting thing, I had seen the promo with Maura in it but didn't remember the show until my mom watched the pilot with LG and told me about it because of the character Max. I, myself, have Asperger's Syndrome but wasn't diagnosed 'til I was 23 (the diagnosis wasn't introduced in the US until I was 7). So I know what Max is going through, and it's interesting to watch their approach to dealing with it.
And with AS, a strong attachment to things or people is very common. Max's "special interest," as they are called, is bugs. At the moment, my special interest is Maura Tierney which is why I found myself coming here. She's actually a recurring special interest of mine.
I watch the show because of Max, and I wish I had gotten the chance to see Maura interact with him. I do like the show very much despite that. I'm hoping to see the original pilot someday.

The promo dvd of the unaired pilot sold on ebay for $253.46 tonight. I wasn't able to watch it happen as I had two kids going in two directions at 5:45. I can NOT believe how much they are being sold for. Geez.

I just have to say, I have been watching Parenthood, and Mae Whitman is shining so bright in this show! Her performance has been nothing short of incredible. I actually have to say that she could be the next Maura Tierney. She cries and makes the viewer feel for her when she acts and I seriously love her already! She can do the really tough dramatic scenes as well as the hilarious witty scenes! She is really going places!!

My sister has been raving about Mae in this for a while. She has always done an incredible job - even when she was a little, little girl (When A Man Loves a Woman, Independence Day, One Fine Day and Hope Floats - ripped my heart out with that performance!). I was so, so stoked at the thought of seeing her work with Maura. They are definitely two peas in a pod when it comes to their work. Sigh. Maybe some day........

I've been watching Parenthood when it repeats on Saturday nights and I'm really starting to like it! The storylines are easy to follow and keep my interest. Its sometimes hard to watch LG because I wish it was Maura but...I do keep watching it. It is such a great cast!

Okay so i did it! I watched it! Im now caught up! And i love it!
The pilot was pretty hard to watch because Maura wasnt in it :/ but heres the thing:
I just spend 22 days of my life (before watching Parenthood) watching all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls, and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) was my favourite character, so i guess i was kinda happy to see her play Sarah.
I have to say though, i would have loved to see Maura more, just becasue, but i think, if anyone else was to play the part, Lauren Graham was an awesome choice! Every so often though, i think what it would be like to see Maura do a particular scene you know?
All in all, i really am enjoying the show, its really good, the character of Sarah however cries in like every episode, i find that a tad annoying but everything else is pretty awesome!
Okay im done lol

The noms are not out yet, that is just Ausiello's dream Emmy ballot. But it would be cool to see Mae honored.

It so could be true - but honestly there is no way of knowing until the Emmy people themselves actually release "the noms"

I e-mailed NBC a few months ago about whether or not the original pilot would be included on the season 1 DVDs but I never heard back... But the season 1 set is being released on August 31st. In the special features from the press release on tvshowsondvd.com: No mention of Maura's name in the press release itself, but maybe she'll show up in one of the deleted scenes? I really hope so. Maybe we'd have a better chance if they had written "alternate" instead of "deleted."
