Maura Tierney to 'The Good Wife'By Verne Gay Monday June 25, 2012 11:29 AM Maura Tierney is coming to "The Good Wife." CBS just announced, adding that "Hustle's" Marc Warren is joining up too. Both are called "recurring," which of course means Tierney will be in only a handful of episodes — network did not say what a handful exactly was — but she'll play a "self-made millionaire who has become the doyenne of Chicago Democratic politics." Aha. Hmmm. So that would mean . . . In any event, this is a significant get for "Wife" — part of a very active off-season in terms of actor musical chairs, with Jennifer Hudson also landing an arc role on next season's "Smash," and Ray Romano on "Parenthood." Tierney has battled breast cancer, which prevented her from joining "Parenthood's" first season. After recuperation, she joined "Rescue Me" in another particularly memorable arc that helped close out that worthie's run. www.newsday.com/entertainment/tv/tv-zone-1.811968/maura-tierney-to-the-good-wife-1.3803518

Maura Tierney To Recur On ‘The Good Wife’By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Monday June 25, 2012 Maura Tierney is reuniting with fellow ER alumna Julianna Margulies, joining the cast of Margulies’ praised CBS drama The Good Wife in a recurring role. On the legal drama set in the Windy City, Tierney will play a self-made millionaire who has become the doyenne of Chicago Democratic politics. Tierney joined NBC’s long-running medical drama ER one-third of the way into Season 6, with her character Nurse Abby Lockhart introduced to fill the void of the pending departure of Margulies’ Nurse Carol Hathaway. Margulies, ER‘s original female lead, left the series at the end of that season, while Tierney’s character quickly became a central one during the second half of ER‘s run and earned Tierney an Emmy nomination. Following her nine-year stint on ER, Tierney recurred on FX’s Rescue Me and guest starred on the NBC comedy The Office. She just signed with UTA and is managed by Untitled. www.deadline.com/2012/06/maura-tierney-to-recur-on-the-good-wife/Somebody can tell me how is this UTA? Is this as big as CAA?

I'm really excited to hear she's signed with a new agency. UTA is one of the major ones. If you look them up, they have clients like Johnny Depp, Jennifer Lopez, etc. So I think our girl is in good company.

Hi Aida! Great to see you! I fully admit that I was not excited about Maura being on this particular show (I am not a Julianna Marguiles fan, to put it mildly LOL), but the more I hear about her storyline and the actors she's working with, the more I'm looking forward to it. September 30th just needs to get here faster.

I also love the fact that she is more in the Peter storyline, the political stuff could get really interesting this season. And Alan Cumming is so great as Eli, I think Maddie will stand toe-to-toe with Eli and not back down and hopefully fluster Eli a bit.
But I really do want her to have a scene or two with Alicia and Kalinda.

I'm hoping her character gets to make out with Chris Noth's at some point during her arc. There's something kind of sexy about him to me. And lord knows it's been years since she has been able to make out with a sexy actor (Goran!) onscreen. I do not count Rob Morrow or Denis (or that guy from the Parenthood pilot!), LOL.

Hey Tara,
I was captivated by the story, never watched JM before not even in ER. She´s a great actor but I keep watching to see what happens with all characters, not because I am a JM fan.
I don´t think there will be romance for MT´s character but What do I know, on TGW anything can happen. anything.

I was never a JM fan, but I am a Good Wife fan. It's one of only 2 shows on tv that is for me not to be missed tv. It's a great show and I'm extremely happy that Maura is going to be on it. And I really wouldn't be expecting that Maura is going to be making out with Chris Noth, unless they change his character a whole lot, that's just not Peter Florrick. (At least not these days).

Even better for a love interest- Maddie can date a hot young Cubs or White Sox player played by Zac Efron or Taylor Lautner.

I fully support them bringing on some hot guy for her. Or maybe her character is already married to a hot guy who we'll meet later on. I just want some hotness involved in her storyline, LOL.
