Doesn't really matter at this point, if no one crosses the picket lines, then there is no one to light the sets, hold the boom mics or act the scenes, so he isn't going to direct. Plus he's a WGA member so he's not going to be directing anyway.

I found more information related to the ER cast in this strike:
www.fin24.co.za/articles/default/display_article.aspx?ArticleId=1518-1783_2216391
Striking writers at the Warner Bros studio in Burbank were joined by several "ER" cast members, including John Stamos, Maura Tierney and Mekhi Pfeiffer.
.................
Fund raiser
Stamos said the cast was planning to raise money for crew members who might have trouble making car and mortgage payments if the show eventually has to stop production. "ER" executive producer and creator John Wells said, "The issues will effect everyone in the industry - the writers just happen to be first."

Even I know the strike will affect us as viewers because we would be prevent of watching new episodes of our favorite show if it continues, I'm glad the ER cast is supporting the strike, they value the work of the ones behind the cameras and who create those wonderful stories we have the pleasure to watch every Thursday.

Thanks for all the pictures! I'm glad the cast is supporting the show. So it looks like even though scripts may be completed, production can still be delayed because all the people who won't cross the picket line.
Even though it really sucks that production has to be halted like this and shows are being delayed and what not, I'm finding this strike to be very interesting and exciting. I think its so cool to see the actors out of their element of either acting or promoting the show or smiling for the camera and I can't wait to hear the latest update of what's going on. My biggest worry is that if the strike lasts awhile is that "Lost" might not be back til February of 2009. That is too long of a wait.

I have one question and one comment.
Somebody said that they ask 0.08% of every sold DVD, instead of 0.04% that they are getting now. It may not seem a big number, but that's DOUBLE. And when you put all that money together you can count millions there. So, those 0.08% 'only' turns into many many many more millions. I'm not saying they shouldn't get the money, I'm just saying that that is a big 'raise'. And I agree with larue on this. I believe she is a teacher, and she gave the students she taught knowledge. Knowledge that led them to becoming successful in live and having good pays. Should she ask them for money?!
And question. Are they asking 0.08% of every sold blank DVD or TV show DVD?

I was doing some snooping around on the web to see if I could get more information about the strike. This website has an awesome video that explains the issues - including the 8 cents for every video aspect. www.wgaeast.org/This link is to the Writer's Guild on the west coast. Not as informative but interesting. www.wga.org/This is actually going to open a whole can of worms because as their contracts run out EVERYONE is going to be after a piece of the pie.

And question. Are they asking 0.08% of every sold blank DVD or TV show DVD? Right now, they get 4% of the DVD sales, not .04. And, they get nothing from internet downloads or new media things like "The Office" webisodes. So they're asking for 8% of the profits from the DVD sales of the shows that they write on, not just like blank dvds. And I'm not sure what they're asking for for the internet/new media stuff. I am completely on the side of the writers. Yes, double what they get now is a big raise, but they WRITE all the episodes and put a LOT of work into it. Think of all the work David Zabel puts into being the showrunner on ER and that he gets no profit for when his work is later sold or downloaded. For example, when you watch a show online you are forced to watch advertisements (which the networks sell and get profits for). And the writers receive no money from those ads. I hope that makes sense.

Hey guys,
This is a message from Executive Producers of some shows, they are explaining why are they on the Strike and what they expect from it.
At the beginning you’ll see John Wells from ER and he will be in the video around minute 3’15”.

Hi, I've never posted here before, but I want to bring this link that I found. www.myspace.com/support_the_writers It lists somethings that we as viewers can do. It's worth a try right?

This is what Writers are asking for:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ55Ir2jCxk
And this is the link to contact the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to support the shows we love and ask them to put it back on business:
www.amptp.org/contactus.html
This is what the Executive Producers are asking the fans to do. And go to the previous link also, if we can help, let's do it.

THANK YOU, VIVIANA and CECE for all the information! ITA. Am really proud that the ER cast support the crew members and the writers. It will be the first and only time when I'd like to kiss STAMOS for what he said.

It will be the first and only time when I'd like to kiss STAMOS for what he said. Who knows, he might surprise you. And I'm glad they support them. As we all should. It looks amazing to me, how people ho are so different can be all together in situation like this. Go PEOPLE!

I don't have a link..but my local paper had a picture of ER's Maura and Stamos supporting the picket line and I think Meikhi was there too. I was a little creeped out at yet another picture that had both Maura and Stamos in it. I hope it is just a work relationship they share ..can't stomach the other thoughts in my head But I guess what they are doing is a worthy cause so it is nice to see them together in that respect.
