I don't think her focus is money. She's always shown a drive to diversify her resume and work with a wide array of actors - a drama would give her that chance and display her dramatic prowess to both critics and film lovers. Comedies may be moneymakers, but it's dramas that stick in people's minds - Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, Dances With Wolves, the English Patient - it's rare for a comedy to take Best Picture.

Dang....just finished another book by Karen Rose - You Can't Hide. The lead character in the book , Tess, has Maura written all over it....maybe even more than Kristen in I'm Watching You. Sheesh. Must be the way the woman writes hot sex or something....and strong, independent females. This one is a psychiatrist whose patients are offing themselves with fingers pointing in her direction. Just read a bit where this tiny little woman totally takes down a big hulking ex-con who has been stalking her.....broken nose and grinding knee to a groin. Hee. Maura all right! Good book. Great characters, great mystery and great, hot....well you know. Heh.

Jurassic Park IV would be great. The film is already "in production", but it doesn´t have the cast yet. Maura should scream: "I´m freeeee!"
There´s just one name: Laura Dern ... Dr. Ellie Sattler (rumored)
Maura could be an eager scientist - who believes the new park is safe and can make a lot of money.... Kind of "bad guy", who will fight, run, scream and in the process she´ll redeem herself saving somebody at the end.
Well, that´s something really bothering me on IMDB - it´s NOT the first time I see a name in the cast "rumored". They insert rumored things and not real ones. Gee. I understand that maybe, Maura´s people don´t update her page there - as should - because she doesn´t want it (God knows why); but who´s responsible for update "finding amanda"´s page?

Ugh...PLEASE no JP IV. Sequels are just an insult to otherwise good movies.

Well, if the character is something new for her - not another calm wife/girlfriend - I don´t think it matters if it´s a sequel or not.
The good news is the fact that people know she´s capable of both: comedy and drama - which may make her life/career easier.
BTW, I just read an article about people who did both and mentions her:
17 comedic actors who moved into dramatic television roles Posted May 1st 2008 12:20PM by Richard Keller ... Maura Tierney -- Holy Frik! I just looked up Maura Tierney's history on IMDb and saw that she has been in nearly 200 episodes of ER. Wow, no wonder she wants her character to die. Well, Ms. Tierney is on the list because of her five-year stint on the NBC comedy NewsRadio. She played Lisa Miller -- a character who had much more luck in one day than Abby Lockhart has had in nearly a decade.
The whole thing is here:http://www.tvsquad.com/2008/05/01/17-comedic-actors-who-moved-into-dramatic-television-roles/
I was watching the "space" episode and she was soooo funny with that huge space weapon looking for the alien with Dave. I really like her with guns.
What about her as a robber this time, and not the cop? Directed by Richard Shepherd? She could be the one of the producers...
Wonder what happened with their (Maura/Billy/Richard) company Veto Ship.

A sequel, if it's really good, is one thing. JP3 was terrible. A fourth wouldn't make it to theaters and would likley air as a TV mvoie

Heh...I guess I am spoiled after so long. I want to see her on the small screen....and more often than an occasional movie.

Nooo. I want see her in the big screen. And I´d love to see her working with Viggo Mortensen. Lord of the Rings IV: The return of the Hobbit. I'd would like to see her in a leading role (obviously) BUT no dramas or extremely senseless comedies...something fresh, new, different of all what she has done...probably adventure movies...something like "The mummy"...

I guess it all depends on what SHE wants to do. It would be interesting to see her in and adventure type thing....as long as it's not too far from a Starbucks...she might agree to do it.

lol at all of us having a different taste in movies. I hope she stays away from horror and sequels, and focuses on drama and a little bit of comedy. Whatever she does though, I'll be watching.
