Hey everybody! I hesitated to put it but finally... I hope you'll like it...
Luka and Abby aren't together anymore, they had twins. who are 5.
Chapter 1: Ask why.
Abby was sitting on window ledge. She was looking through the window which was softly misted. Abby stuck her forehead against the window and sighed. Suddenly, she felt a little hand grabbed her sweet shirt and shook it.
“Mommy?”
Abby turned her head and looked at the little girl. She smiled. Gabrijela was 6 years old; she had long dark hair and beautiful grey eyes. She looked like Luka.
“Yes, baby?”
“I can’t sleep.” Abby couldn’t stop smiling. She took Gabi in her arms and went to her bedroom.
“Do you want a story?”
“Yes mommy, the story of the rose” She put her into the bed and covered her. Abby took the book on the nightstand and began to read.
In the middle of a garden grew a rosebush quite full of roses and in one of these roses, the most beautiful of all, lived in an elf.”
Abby closed the book when she saw Gabrijela was sleeping. Abby smiled and stood up. She opened a little a door and threw a glance into. Zoran was stretched out on his bed. Abby smiled and closed the door. She returned at her place on the window ledge. She put her forehead on the icy window and closed her eyes.
Abby held Luka’s hand. Susan was in front of her.
“C’mon Abby. Push!”
Abby pushed. She felt this horrible pain in her belly. She felt sweat on her face. Then she heard baby’s cries. Susan looked at Abby.
“It’s a boy. He’s very beautiful.” Abby smiled to Luka who was kissing her on the forehead.
They kissed. Susan was smiling, depositing the baby boy on Abby’s chest.
Abby opened her eyes when she heard someone knocked at the front door. She saw she was lying down on the couch. She crossed her fingers into her hair, sighing and walking to the door. The person insisted on the door. Abby said.
“I’m coming!”
She opened the door and saw Luka, standing in front of her, ready to know again.
“What do you want?”
“It’s 7.30 am, Abby. I’m taking the twins to drive them at school.”
Abby looked up.
“I forgot. They’re not ready.”
She sighed, letting Luka come in. Abby knocked at Gabi’s door.
“Baby, it’s time. You’re late.” Zoran went out of his bedroom, already get dressed.
“Mum, I’m hungry.”
“Yes, come.” Luka was sitting at the counter of the kitchen, when he saw Zoran; he took him in his arms and kissed him.
“Hey, how are you, buddy?”
“I’m hungry.”
Abby put a bowl of cereals on the table.
“Eat while I take care of Gab.” Zoran jumped on the floor and began to eat. Luka followed Abby in the corridor.
“They’re ready, when you come at home to take them.”
“Luka, I’m exhausted. I fell asleep on the couch at 3am.”
“Did you take meds?”
She glared at him.
“I’ll drive them at school. Go out of my house.”
“Abby…”
“Go away!” She shouted. Luka shook the head.
“I’m sorry…”
Abby entered in Gabi’s bedroom closing the door in his face. Luka sighed and returned in the kitchen. Zoran was eating. The little boy said.
“It’s not Mummy’s fault… She was tired yesterday and Gabrijela and I were very bad…”
Luka caressed Zoran’s head.
“I know…”
Abby arrived. Gabrijela was ready; she was on tip-toe to take an apple on the counter. Luka helped her.
“Thank you, daddy.”
“Welcome, lady.”
Abby gave a glass of milk to Gabi. Luka declared.
“Okay, here we go.”
Zoran took his bag and kissed Abby before went out of the place. Gabrijela stayed in front of Abby, with a sad face.
“What’s wrong, baby?”
“I don’t want to sleep at Daddy’s.”
“Why? You love to be there.”
“No, I don’t love when she is there.”
“She?” Abby didn’t understand. She threw a glance to Luka. He was with someone… she looked at her daughter.
“If tonight, she’s there and you don’t want to stay, you call me, okay?”
“Okay.” Abby kissed her daughter and ran to take Luka’s hand. Luka said before to close the door.
“See you at work.”
“Yeah.”
Abby opened her eyes. She was lying down on the bed. Luka was sitting next to her, with their son in his arms. He smiled seeing Abby waking her up and showed with a sign of the head the cradle next to her.
“It’s our daughter.”
Abby smiled at him.
“She’s beautiful, like her mother.” He continued.
“Thank you” He blew.
Abby took a deep breathe and closed her eyes again, exhausted. Luka bent over her and kissed her forehead.
“Thank you for everything.”
Susan was sitting on the bench next to Abby. They were drinking their coffee.
“He said it…” Abby repeated.
“Abby… You are hurting for nothing.”
“Why did he say it?”
Susan rolled her eyes.
“Personally, I don’t understand why you broke up… again. You fight and you split up.”
Abby shrugged.
“It was one year ago.”
“One and an half year ago.”
Abby sighed.
“He has a girlfriend.”
Susan looked at Abby, surprised.
“Really? He said it to you?”
“No… it’s Gabrijela who said it to me.”
“He’s not able to say it to you, himself…”
“I don’t understand. My children know her and he never talked about her to me.”
“Maybe he didn’t know how tell it…”
“I don’t care!” Abby stood up violently. “I have the impression to fall in a big dark hole.”
Susan looked at her friend with a glance full of compassion. Abby sat again. Susan said.
“Everything will be good… soon.”
Luka grabbed Abby by the waist. He carried her until the bedroom and let her go of on the bed. Abby laughed.
“Luka! Stop it!” He rode her and kissed her neck and unbuttoning her shirt he continued along her chest.
“Luka…”
“Sssh”
“Don’t ssh me.”
Abby surrounded his neck with her hands and obliged to kiss her. Suddenly, they heard a baby was crying.
“I’ll go.” Luka said, kissing Abby’s belly. Abby stayed lying down on the bed and sighed. Abby decided to stand up, she walked to the babies’ bedroom. She saw Luka who was lulling Gabrijela.
“Shut my little princess, daddy is here… shut…” Abby smiled, walking to him and putting her hand on his back. Luka smiled and with his right hand he surrounded Abby’s waist.
“I love you, Abby.”
Abby closed her eyes, to take advantage of this moment.
Gabrijela and Zoran came into Luka’s place.
“You can watch the TV for a while, if you want while daddy’s making the dinner.”
Gabrijela ran on the couch and Zoran joined her.
“What do you want?”
“Age Ice.”
“Okay, here we go.” Luka turned on the TV and walked to the kitchen. Suddenly, someone knocked at the door. Luka walked to the door and opened it.
“Hey…” He said smiling.
“Good evening.” Gabrijela looked at them. She sighed when she was it was Luka’s girlfriend. Luka kissed her and let her come in. Kathryn looked at Zoran and Gabrijela.
“Hello, kids.”
“Hello.” Zoran said, too busy to watch the TV. Gabrijela didn’t say anything. She stood up and walked to the phone.
“Can I call mommy, Daddy?”
Luka threw a glance to Kathryn.
“Yeah of course.” He dialled the phone to Gabi and led Kathryn to the kitchen.
Kathryn sat on the chair.
“You’re too nice with her.”
“She’s my daughter.”
“But… she’s at your home, not at her mother’s home. She should understand she is with you…”
Luka was looking at Gabi, listening Kathryn. Gabrijela was standing, waddling.
Abby put her glass when the phone rang. She picked up.
“Yes?”
“Mommy…”
“Hey, baby. Are you okay?”
“You said to me if she was here to call you.”
Abby rolled her eyes.
“Baby… we’ll see tomorrow… you can wait for tomorrow.”
“I don’t want to stay.” She was whispering. Abby understood she did it to not Luka heard.
“Can you pass the phone to daddy, baby please?”
“Yes.” Abby heard Gabi called Luka.
“Abby?”
“Luka, what is this story about “She”?”
“She?”
“Your girlfriend. Gabi wants to go home.”
Abby imagined Luka rolled his eyes and sighed.
“Abby…”
“No. I’ll pick her up in ten minutes.”
“Abby, it’s my day.”
“I don’t care.” Abby picked down. She sighed and took her coat.
Abby knocked at the door. Luka opened it. Abby came into the place. Kathryn stood up and she saw her. She stretched her hand to Abby.
“I’m Kathryn. Nice to meet you.”
Abby glared at her and turned to Luka.
“Where is she?”
“In her bedroom.”
Abby went to the stairs and called.
“Gabi, here we go.”
She ran in the stairs with her bag. Abby took her bag. Abby looked at Zoran.
“Zo, you stay here?”
“If I have the right.”
Abby bent over him and kissed his forehead.
“You have the right.”
Gabi put her coat on and went to go out when Luka said.
“Hey… princess… I haven’t the right to a kiss…”
“Are you angry?”
He knelt.
“No, my angel, I’m not angry.”
He kissed her and zipped her coat. She kissed him and ran to the door. Abby stopped in front of Luka.
“You’re not together anymore, you do what you want, and I do what I want. I ask you just one thing: if you have someone in your life. Think about your children. Try to understand why your daughter doesn’t want to be with you when your… (She paused and looked at Kathryn.) when your girlfriend is here.” Abby joined Gabi and they left.
