GRADUATION
Luka and Abby are awaken from the sound of the alarm going off. Abby rolls over, and hits the pause button on the alarm. She then rolls over into Luka's arms. "Good morning father of the gradute." Abby tells him. Luka rolls over and gives Abby a kiss. "Umm, good morning to you to." Luka tells Abby. "Do you think we should start getting up? We do have a long day ahead of us today." Abby tells Luka. They get out of bed, and head for the shower. Just as they are ready to get in the shower the phone rings. "I'll get it." Abby tells Luka. She answers the phone. "Hello, may I ask who is calling?" Abby asks the caller on the other line. "Uh Abby, this is Eric. How are you?" Eric asks her. "Eric I am doing good, how about you?" she asks him. "I am doing ok. Uh I was wondering if I could be there for my nephews graduation today." Eric asks. "Well sure you can, if you promise you won't try anything stupid." Abby tells him. "I won't, I have been taking my medication, and I go to my counseling sessions every week." Eric tells his sister. "Well you can either meet us at the high school, or at the house." Abby tells him.
Eric has agreed to meet them at the high school.
Abby goes in and gets in the shower with Luka. She tells him that Eric was on the phone, wanting to know if he could attend graduation. Luka is happy that Abby is trying to get along with her brother.
After their shower, they head downstairs. Jeneri is in the kitchen. "Umm something smells so good in here." Abby tells Luka. Jeneri turns around and smiles at them. "I am making Joseph a special graduation breakfast." Jeneri tells her parents. "He will enjoy this." Luka tells her. Just as Jeneri is finishing up with the breakfast, Joseph comes down from upstairs. "Good morning everybody. Umm something smells good." Joseph tells everybody. "Your sister made you a special graduation breakfast." Abby tells him. "Oh thanks sis, you are so great, and when I go away in August to school, I want you to have my room. It is bigger." Joseph tells her. Jeneri goes up to her brother and tells him thanks. Everybody finishes a delicious breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Joseph heads upstairs to get ready for graduation.
Before they head to the high school for graduation Kerry, Susan, and Chuck come over. They are getting pictures of the graduates in their caps and gowns. After pictures are done, Joseph, Henry, and Cosmo head to the high school. They have to be there an hour early for pictures. Just as they are walking out of the door. Susan turns to everybody. "Well, everybody the next time we see them, the Three Muskateers, will be high school graduates." She tells them. "I know this has been such a long road for everybody." Kerry tells them. Everybody gets in the cars and they are off to graduation.
After Pomp and Cirmcustances is played, the Father from the local church says the opening prayer. After that everybody has a seat. There is guest speakers, special music, and the Valedictorian and Saluatorian making their speeches. After the Saluatorian is done making his long, dried out speech. The principal of the school gets ready to hand out the diploma's to the soon to be graduates. He starts reading off the names. He finally gets to the K's. Joseph Kovac." The principal reads off. Everybody in the stands starts to whistle and cheer. Joseph goes up, gets his diploma, turns his tassle, and goes back to sit with his graduating class. "Cosmo Martin." the prinicipal announces. Again cheers go up from the stands. Finally the principal gets to the W's. "Finally our last graduate. Henry Weaver." the principal announces. For the last time everybody starts to clap and cheer.
The principal announces for final time. "Now introducing the class of 2007." The graduates throw their hats in the air. The end of a long road has finally come to an end.
There is no future good enough
For what we hope to be,
Nor world with windows wide enough
For what we hope to see.
Yet when we turn to compromise
The dreams with which we wake,
We'll glimpse behind a memory
Which we cannot forsake.
How beautiful this time of youth
That is so quickly gone!
We came to learn together, and
In moments we are done.
How long we will remember this
Brief time when life would wait
Upon the true perception that
Comes always far too late.
THE END.
