FYI: I'm starting this new post because I am now putting all spoiler info on the very first post of every episode specific spoiler. I cannot do this with the existing post or I would. Please feel free to continue to post there as well as here. If you have a spoiler to add for this episode, please post it in this thread and I will add it to the very first post giving you full credit, of course.

Thanks to DeeDee at ER Forums:
Director: Steve Shill
Dates: 02/24-03/09
An officer and an Army chaplain come into the ER with some "very bad news for one of the doctors". There are also several roles for wounded and medics in Iraq.
The other major plot is about a father and two boys who are brought in to the ER, having all been beaten.

The following spoilers courtesy of AEB: I did not write them so the opinions expressed throughout are that of the original poster, Daisy.
Helloooooo, kids.
Remember Jane? Sparkless Lane? Lifeless Jane? Plain boring Jane? She is back and she is trying to convince Abby that women like Andrea Yates were acting on some primitive impulse, like the lions.
Abby finds the talk weird. Me too!!
Things are ugly in Iraq, sweethearts.
I don't like to quote, darlings, but in this case.... "the truck is blown to hell".
SO SAD, KIDS, SO SAD.
Pratt is back from Africa.
He finds that life is ugly this side of the pond too.
Pratt, Jane, Sam, Luka and Abby they are all involved in the same case.
Daddy and his two kids were found beaten.
At first our docs think they were attacked by some gang, but things are never like it seems in ER.
It's so sad kids, the father is an abusive father, always beat his children. Older son tried to stop mean daddy when d a baseball bat and killed his own father.
SO SAD.
Someone hand me the tissues, please, my darlings!
Clemente is in Psych.
Everybody is worried about Neela.
Ray tells her he knows things have been a little strange between them, but if she needs anything or want him to do anything for her he is there.
Neela is sort of out and says she was probably ordering some latte or watching Celebrity Poker when Gallant died.
Last time they talked was four days ago.
SNIIIIIIF.
A chapelain and a captain arrives to tell Neela the bad news, sniff. She is in deep denial, don't want to talk about it, don't want to hear about it and goes back to work.
Morris and Sam cry.
Abby asks the captain about Galant's parents and he tells her that they will be notified, if Neela wants. They also give her (Abby) an envelope with informnations and say that it will take 7 to 10 days for Gallant's remains to get here.
What else kids?
Jane is thinking about getting a tatoo.
The father and sons plot is too sad for words.
Gallant's last words are about Neela.
Abby tells Luka she is going to check on Neela at her apartment. He asks her to call him later, she says she will.

NBC description:
THE GALLANT HERO AND THE TRAGIC VICTOR -- Freshly back from Africa's Darfur region, Dr. Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) struggles to get the real story when two abused boys come into the E.R. with their injured father. Neela (Parminder Nagra) is nervous when she is urgently called up to Dr. Dubenko's (Leland Orser) office, but is quickly relieved when she gets the good news. Meanwhile, the arrival of two U.S. Army officers has the staff worried that it might mean bad news. After Dr. Clemente's (John Leguizamo) strange behavior puts some of his patients in jeopardy, Dr. Kovac (Goran Visnjic) forces him to take a break. After bickering for months, Morris (Scott Grimes) and Albright (Dahlia Salem) can't seem to fight the sexual tension between them. Maura Tierney, Linda Cardellini, Shane West and Sharif Atkins also star.
