There is a very nice article with John Stamos in People Magazine this week. He comes off as very nice and very much in awe of the show and the actors he is working with.

Ever wonder why no one wants kids with him the way he's going he won't, he better pull himself together if he wants a woman and have kids 'ER' Actor Plans To Have Kids www.buddytv.com/articles/er/er-actor-plans-to-have-kids-11918.aspx October 4, 2007
Another celebrity has come on board with the adoption wagon and he comes in the form of ER's John Stamos. Nowadays, the 44-year-old actor, who plays Dr. Tony Gates on the medical drama, has been contemplating on becoming a dad. Though he currently doesn't have partner to share the joys of fatherhood, he remains eager to have kids in the near future.
"If I don't have kids soon, I am going to adopt," the ER actor told OK! magazine in its latest issue. "Even if I do have kids, I think I will [adopt.] I always thought to myself that I would be a better father later on in life."
After his painful split from ex-wife Rebecca Romijn, whom he married on September 19, 1998 and divorced on March 1, 2005, Stamos became aloof to the idea of dating.
''It burned really bright, and I kind of knew it was going to burn out at some point. But it was a great ride and I don't regret one minute of it,'' he said of his marriage to Romijn, who recently married /> "If I don't have kids soon, I am going to adopt," ' 't have kids soon, I am going to adopt," the ER actor told OK! magazine in it in July.
Stamos, who is also popularly known for playing Jesse Katsopolis on the 1980s sitcom, Full House, is presently single and is now ready to embrace the dating scene. In fact, he doesn't find dating to be difficult as it used to be.
''Right after I got divorced or separated, I was like, 'I've got to find somebody,''' Stamos said. ''Then I went through a phase where I hated dating. Now I'm kind of embracing it.''
''I think I'm probably easier to date,'' he added. ''I'm certainly not as wild as I used to be.''
Catch John Stamos on ER, now on its 14th season, every Thursday at 10/9c on NBC. Meanwhile, fans can also grab a copy of the new issue of OK! which hits newsstands today.

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!
He's planning to reproduce? Is he out of his mind? So, now we'll have to deal with a whole generation of jetlagged people who doesn't know how to behave?
Isn't that why he got apart from Denisse Richards... because of her kids?
About the adoption, he might think raising kids would get back his success from FULL HOUSE? WRONG!!! That won't happen AGAIN!!!
I think he's good ACTING with kids but to raise a child takes more than acting like "Uncle John" all the time.

**Viviana** For me this is nothing more than a publicity stunt. Trying to get the drunk - jet lagged excuse to be forgotten.

For me this is nothing more than a publicity stunt. I guess he should join "some club" of people trying to use this kind of comments to get more publicity.
But, isn't he the one bringing it up everytime he get an interview? (E! News last Set Visit Interview - he reminded all the viewers about his mess in Australia).

I should hide after I do this, but that's just what I think. Maybe it's because I'm too young. Maybe it's because I live faaaar away from USA and we don't get to see his interviews or read articles about him. Maybe it's because I do like him. I don't know what he had done in past. And I don't care. I see him as actor, and as actor only. What he did when he was young(er) is not my concern. And I bet he has a reason of doing it. I liked him in Full House. I think he has a nice sense of humor. I think he looks great. And above all, I do think he is an excellent actor! And since I can't understand why you don't like him, can someone please explain me that. And please don't send me loads of articles. I want something I can actually understand. Oooops! If this was rude in any way, towards anyone I apologize.

I'd never seen him in anything other than a couple of not very good TV films before he joined ER so I don't have the reference points others seem to either. I don't have any problem with him as an actor, for all that I don't like Gates. Much of what I don;t like about him stems not from Stamos himself but from the brouhaha surrounding his "show saving" arrival on the show, for which I can't really hold him responsible.
If he wants a family then good luck to him, I hope he finds what he wants.

I was actually a John Stamos fan. I thought he was a cutie. I have seen almost everything he has done except for his stint on the soap opera so go figure. I was looking forward to him being on ER so I would have to agree with Mrseyre...it's the Gates character that I don't like. I think they were trying too hard to make him the good hearted bad boy. I liked him as a rough and ready, creative paramedic. The stubble was not good. The too fast/too hard attempt to make him a love interest for Neela was not good. I don't know what will redeem him in my estimation at this point. Setting him up to replace Luka's persona will definitely not do it..... As for his admission that he hopes to adopt, Listen up John. Making fun of your drunken stupidity Australian escapade and rumors of drug use ought to sit really well with a social worker doing a homestudy....not! These are all things that have happened recently and can't be chalked up to youthful inexperience and growth. Watch yourself......
