Does anyone think in the 300th episode spoiler 14.10 thats when abby's rock bottom is going to hit? i don't know why but thats, what i think is gong to happen and then we are stuck with a cliffhanger trying to figure whats going to happen. i think it's going to be something big they are planning i hope it won't be a teribble accident and she gets badly hurt. if it is her rock bottom in this episode i hope this will be the end of her drinking. I think we'll get the scene Maura so much wanted - Her lying on the floor knocked out and Baby Joe crying his lungs out. Luka returns home to the mess, ro finally figure out something was out of place all along

I'm of the mind that sitting down with that much vodka can only lead to Abby unable to get home, and Luka realizing she's missing and either Neela or Luka finding her and finally someone realizes what's going on. That would make the next episode or the 300th an ER to remember. I think that the Christmas ep will follow that with something uplifting. Resolution to something like this will take some time, but the audience - I think will have to know by Christmas that things will get better, or I don't think anyone's going to be turning in to watch a continuous train wreck. Having her continue to drink with Luka home was important because I'm sure neither the actors nor tptb want to make the point that her drinking is about whether Luka is home or not - it's about being an alcoholic. However, no one can go on drinking as much as she obviously is and not have a consequence. It seems to me it might be the consequence is to herself, it's really not safe to be chugging vodka like it's water, alone. I would think tptb would want to make that point.

In s12, the Christmas episode was 12.10, last season it was 13.11. I haven't seen a completely depressing Xmas episode yet, and given the relative un-reality of this whole shebang, I wouldn't be surprised if we have some cheesey scene of Abby realizing what she has to lose by drinking and realizing how much Luka loves her, blah blah blah. We're not exactly working with dramatic geniuses anymore. I'll always be a loyal ER fan and a loyal Luby, but the writers aren't exactly making this the most believable stuff. Sure, they have to work around a disappearing cast, but I'm still all for that little coup Larue and I have been dreaming of. I don't think we could be any worse that the idiots in charge currently.
I don't see Abby leaving mid-season because it's been said multiple times now that MT is contracted through the end of the season. I'm actually thinking we'll see more of GV now that he's pretty much driven his public image into the ground. As for a happy ending...this isn't HBO. If the series ends, and I'm pretty sure it will (unless we have a miracle return of Clooney), I'd wager it'll be a happy sign-off. Though it would be a hoot if they just killed everyone off in the last episode.

I just thought of something. is this following season 12's steps? as in...the thing with abby and luka started on the 7th episode and the Christmas episode was somehow the highlight, followed by the resolution in 12x11.
although now I think it's gonna take more than 2 episodes to put a stop to this.
and...unfortunatelly I share maggie's opinion.

I can see all things considered if Zabel pitched this to Goran - why he'd change his mind. I'm really not as down on the writing or the show running over-all as you are. I think there have been definite mistakes, but I also think Zabel has got a lot of things right as well. I think he misjudged Gates/Neela and I think some things got shifted with contracts for sure. But, I think he's telling a very complicated Luby story and that's good, I also think he's brought a group feeling to the cast which has been good.

I just think "ER" has lost its spunk. The show used to be about medicine, and personal issues sort of intermingled. Now we get one patient, maybe two, per episode and the rest is personal time. I miss seeing stories unfold as we move from patient to patient, the fast-paced traumas, the chaos of the ER. It's too controlled and too contrived now. And it's really lost its edge. I don't disagree that it's an interesting storyline and one MT and GV will shine in. But I think they've strayed too far from the characters they spent seven years building.

I'm guessing TPTB will be aware 14.10 is the 300th episode so it's likely that the climax of this story will be reached then, but as that will be around Christmas if not the Christmas episode, and like others I'm struggling to see how it will all be brought to a close given that Abby's still hiding her drinking late in episode 14.9. I agree with Maggie that it may all end slightly, erm, unrealistically. I don't think I'd be particularly annoyed if that were the case, but other people might be.

Oh it's definitely time to retire the show. I hope this is the last season. Where do we go from here? As someone who always liked the character arcs, I'm not bothered by the diminished medicine, but I do understand people are. I guess I don't think they have strayed from who they are just brought them to their edges. As Zabel has said they are damaged and there's been no magic fix, but I think in the end they will find a way to go on together and that's going to be the payoff. That and the acting.

I do agree with that ... Luka/Abby's relationship is real - they are the couple to root for! I have no doubt in my mind that both of these actors will blow us away. I hope this time around, they receive the credit due. Even Maura said in her interviews. This is a real couple, baggage and all, who come out OK.

Gads...where are you guys reading all of these interviews and comments??? Are they recent? I got the Zabel/Goran/ Maura stuff from the live blog but have never read these other quotes.

There was actually an interview with Maura and Goran and some with Zabel in TV Guide about the wedding and upcoming season with Goran's limited appearances.

Oh Geez...
Yesterday at night I was just reading the spoilers and seems there have been quite a battle in here because of them.
Anyway, even the story have TOO MUCH DRAMA IMVHO, I don't think TPTB and Zabel himself have waste quite-a-time building this relationship according to some TV-critics (please don't ask me which one because I've read a BUNCH of articles and I don't know how to reach them again - I catch them surfing on the net) this couple is one of the most solid, real and enduring on TV. This couple have made many of us stick on this show, personally it's the main reason I keep being such a freaky fan of the show.
I also agree with one member who said the twists in this plot could be the main reason GV might have signed for more than 4-6 eppys, because for an actor these kind of plot enrich its acting. Same for MT, she's been longing for this for quite-a-time and I bet she'll blow our minds and souls with these scenes, I'm also hoping they'll get the recognition they deserve.
I say... let's get prepared to see the highest level of acting from these two extraordinary actors and keep reading spoilers without thinking they are the whole show, because from experience (I'm a freaky spoiler reader) the show have always been way better than what spoilers were saying (Even 14.02 which I criticized a lot). I read them just for reference because they don't have the whole episode and when all the pieces are together it gets way better.
For Carito: Honey... I think many posters in here have said you to stay away if you don't feel comfortable of what's been talked in here... so... please if you're here to bash the MAIN TOPIC of this board even if opinions should be respected you honestly have no reason to come in here at all. There are other sites on which you might be put in a pedestal, but not in here.

I don't think one can count on a happy ending so much because of interviews, things can change. But the fact remains they've spent 7 years on this storyline, it's probably the last season, they are the only couple on the show, it's almost Christmas, they have a baby together that I assume the audience finds adorable - I just cannot see a dismal end.
