They'd better not kill her off, though - I will hunt Leary down and hurt him LOL I would HUNT them down if they ever did that!! And I do agree, if Leary is talking so highly about this performance, then it is sure to stun us all! I really wish we didn't have to wait an entire year! Although I LOVE having Maura things to look forward to!!!

Did anyone read the article (in 2010 article board) that said that "Maura asked" to have her cancer story written into the storyline? Does everyone think this could be true? I mean obviously she is ok with doing it, and comfortable showing it, but I wonder if she approached them, or if they approached her about it. It is interesting to think about.

I think Maura has always used her acting as her forum and 'voice.' She cares deeply about her ability to translate and share characterizations. Her tenacity in the whole bi-polar story line on ER was evident of that. I am not surprised at all that she would be willing to include her experience...in this show especially. She hasn't come out with her experience on a personal level....yet....but Kelly offers her the opportunity to share it in a non-personal PERSONAL way. Oh geez...did that make sense?

Yes, it does, Larue. I believe it was her idea and she talked to them about it, the other way around would be more difficult - I can´t see Tolen/Leary telling her they would like to talk about cancer on the show. I mean, who would have the nerve to say such a thing? Oh man, I can´t wait to see it

We're about 14 hours away from finding out if Maura is a two time Emmy nominee. Woohoooo I think she didn't run to them with something like "plz plz can I play this?!"
I think they asked her to play another season and she said something like yes, it's okay, but then I wanna play this coz I don't wanna hide it. every advantage has its disadvantage, so I am able to use my 'looks' to make it more real. For people who are going through this too"something like that I'm going to pray as for a birthday present she gets nominated and wins the emmy!!!!!

I have to say though: one of the nominations in that category is wrong:
Mary Kay Place as Adaleen Grant in Big Love. She is on the show every single season, and is a regular character. It isn't fair to consider her as a "guest." That should be Maura's spot.

I was very surprised...but maybe not...that 'Rescue Me' didn't get any nominations. But it REALLY surprised me that 'Brothers and Sisters' has apparently run its course. No nominatiosn there. And Parenthood missed the plate as well. I absolutely HATE the entire realm of reality show categories. I know their popularity deems nominations necessary but they are so stupid. Its no challenge and takes no talent to play yourself......
