Here's the exact question and answer from today's press tour:
Could you possibly have pushed "Parenthood" back without outing Maura Tierney's health concerns for the world?
Bromstad responded quickly, "No. And, you know, I think that Maura — we made that announcement completely in sync with Maura and her people. I think that, you know, I want to respect Maura's privacy because being in that situation cannot be fun, and then to have to deal with the public nature of it on top of it. I will say that it was a very natural decision that we came to because, if any of you have seen 'Parenthood,' you know how amazing Maura is in that show. So it was simply this is something that happened. We have to deal with it. We have to allow her to deal with it."
And about Jeff Greenstein - I've been following him on Twitter for a while, he seems really cool. He doesn't generally tweet about anything related to the show but maybe he will once filming starts. I've always wanted to ask him a bunch of questions, but I was afraid if he realized "fans" were following him, he might set his page to private LOL

I never cared about "desperate", but I loved "will and grace". Maybe Greenstein gets Jim Burrows to direct - newsradio reunion

Just as I said he doesn't tweet about the show....Jeff posted last night that he saw some of the Parenthood sets yesterday and they are gorgeous.

Oh good! That must mean they are gearing up to get going with taping again. Wonder just how Maura is doing?

I'd love to know how she's doing, but I'm guessing the next bit of news we hear will just be that the show is finally shooting. Until then, hopefully no news is good news.
I'm excited to hear that the sets are up and NBC's moving ahead as planned for midseason.

For some reason, I have the last week of September stuck in my head. I don't know if that's because we actually read that somewhere, or if I was just adding 8 weeks to the original start date of July 27th and assuming. If it's literally an 8 week delay, though, it should start up on September 21st. Hopefully as it gets closer, we can find out for sure. And I'll feel so much better about Maura once we know she's back at work.

Some Parenthood casting news! Anyone remember Joy Bryant? She played Gallant's sister on ER. She's joining the show as a regular. Bit of a spoiler alert in the article. If you've read the pilot script, you'll be able to figure out from the article who she's playing. www.eurweb.com/story/eur55489.cfmETA: Here is Joy's official Twitter page if anyone wants to follow her or welcome her to the show: twitter.com/iam_joybryant

Sorry if this is old news-- but is the pilot script available online?
I'd love to read it.

In case anyone wants to pick it up, there's a little blurb (nothing new) about Parenthood being a midseason show in the new TV Guide Fall Preview issue with a pic of Maura and some of the other castmembers in the dinner scene that we've seen a couple of times already.
And totally off-topic, but on the same page as Maura's pic is a pic of my friend Kelli, who has her own show starting on Fox in January called Past Life! She's an awesome actress and a really sweet person, so I hope it becomes a big hit for her.

Not sure how reliable this blog is but it says Parenthood won't start shooting until November. It's a short article about Craig T. Nelson. "It is hoped she (Maura) will be feeling well enough to join the cast when it's due to start shooting in November." becksmithhollywood.com/?p=803Hmmm....there are hundreds of reasons why they may have pushed the start of shooting back to November, but it still makes me a little worried about how things are going for her. I certainly hope it has nothing to do with her treatment. When is the Broadway opening of "Bye, Bye Birdie" with Stamos? I would think she would be at the premiere to support him if she is in New York. Seeing some pics of her at the premiere would be nice.

Thanks Littlewonder
November? I hope it has nothing to do with Maura´s illness. More than one critic said the writers had things to fix.... maybe this is what they are doing. And they are still adding cast members....
Oh man, Maura is an workaholic person, this must be one of her longest hiatus ever. I´m sure this is very hard for her. Lets hope she found a hobbie (she said before she needed one...).

I hope that it's not going on with Mausa's health. And if i'll be shooting in november, the serie can be on air in January? Has time to it?

Just yesterday, I asked someone who would know if they could tell me what day this month the show would begin shooting and they said there was no start date set for September. I trust this person and their info but I didn't post about it because I was hoping they were wrong. Guess they weren't. They also told me that there have been rumors in the industry that the show might eventually be shelved altogether or that Maura might not be involved with the project if it does get made. Again, those are just rumors, but I don't think it would hurt us to get prepared for something like that to happen at some point down the line. If the show does go forward with Maura, we can celebrate. If it doesn't, at least it won't be a complete shock.
