Re: Prime Suspect......am still thinking that Maura is not going to take on ANYTHING that puts her in a 'lead.' Like my daughter - who is a skillful goal getter but enjoys her soccer game the most when she is setting someone ELSE up for the shot - I truely believe that Maura is an 'ensemble actress' at heart. The right piece will come along for her. It ALWAYS does. I think you're right. It would have been nice if she was coming back to TV already because Laura Innes, David Lyons and Shane West have all landed roles in new pilots and we could have had a big old ER "reunion" on our screens next season.

Larue, I completely agree! She helps make not only herself better, but the rest of the cast as well. She is good in a team, and most people are not because they only care about themselves. That's what makes Maura so special!

I´m surprise Laura Innes will work as an actress again. I´m sure Maura will find something as soon as she´s ready because there are too many pros. Just to list a few things: -Maura´s a very very talented actress, she can be a lead and is willing to be part of and work with an ensemble cast. -She can do physical comedy, and heavy drama. -She´s a good looking and charismatic woman -She´s very professional and easy to work with Maura makes interesting/brave choices like drama/ER after sitcom/Newsradio; crazy stuff on theatre: the oak tree and, north atlantic. Curiosity is just killing me - I want to know what´s next. Man, it´s so good to be Maura´s fan. It´s exciting

Oops, actually I was thinking about may coz North Atlantic is playing through Apr 25. I think it´s soo weird that we have no news about Simms´s project "Beach Lane" (other than Matthew´s name). Am I dreaming? Don´t wake me up!

I would love to see Maura working with Richard Shepard again. He´s a busy director, just saw this on his page: richardshepard.com/?p=421Untitled Criminal Minds Spinoff Posted by admin in Uncategorized on 02 28th, 2010 | Richard Shepard is currently directing the pilot episode of an untitled spinoff of CBS’s hit series Criminal Minds featuring a team of profilers working outside the FBI bureaucracy. Back in 2005, Shepard directed the pilot of the original Criminal Minds, currently in its fifth season. The new series will star Forest Whitaker, Matt Ryan, Michael Kelly, and Beau Garrett. Chris Mundy and Ed Bernero, writer/producers on Minds, wrote the backdoor pilot and it will air as an episode of the original show. Shepard is also signed to direct a second, yet-to-be-determined pilot for CBS this year.

Considering that Shep won an Emmy for his direction of the 'Ugly Betty' pilot.....having him direct ANYTHING is a good deal! If you haven't seen his 'The Hunting Party', rent it NOW. Best acting job I have seen out of Richard Gere in a good long while. Seriously.

Here I am again, looking for jobs to Maura What about these? USA announces development slate for next season: ... GAY WALCH PROJECT Karyn Burke, a suburban supermom to three kids, wakes up one morning and finds her husband has left town because he was in too deep to mob boss Tommy. Now, Karen's left to clean up his mess by paying off her husband's gambling debt and becoming Tommy's new "fixer." It's just one more priority on her weekly to do list. Executive producer is Burrad Marsh (Shed Media) and Gay Walch (“Summerland”) is writer. From Universal Cable Productions. THE VELVET HAMMER Houston-native Candy Carter returns home but she's not the same Texas debutante who left - she has two kids, she's divorced and she's an FBI agent. Back home, she uses her brains and beauty to help out her fellow proud Texans while getting back in touch with her Southern roots. From writers Gail Gilchriest and Kevin Murphy, executive producers Anthony Edwards (“ER”) and Cheryl Dolins of Grand Central Entertainment with CBS Television Studios.

Are these ideas for TV-shows or movies? Both seem interesting. I'm not sure I understand what they mean by 'fixer' in the first idea though ? I wonder if it is what I think it is As for the second idea, I would love to hear Maura talk with a Southern accent for a change

Looks like a female role for Beach Lane (Matthew Broderick project) has been cast, and it's Kristen Johnston.
I think there is something brewing with regard to Maura's next project. No inside info, but it appears she turned down Prime Suspect, and I think that's because something else is out there for her. Based on recent articles it seems she is anxious to work to help put last year behind her. The Prime Suspect pilot script is getting good reviews, so for her to turn it down I would guess she is interested in something else. Here's to hoping we hear about it soon.

For some reason, not sure why, but i could really see Maura doing a guest spot in desperate housewives. The characters that moves to wisteria land with that all important big secret!! I think she'd fit in so well.
