Well, damn. Then I would have to watch ANOTHER show that I am not a fan of....and get hooked.....just to keep up with our girl. Geez. There´s a law. We have to follow her

I love Desperate Housewives, however, every time they bring a new character on for a season, they always die or kill someone or disappear by the end of the season. I don't think I could watch that happen to Maura...

There´s a law. We have to follow her LOL! Exactly right, Sissa - and it's strictly enforced!

Hey guys -- new here, but not to loving Maura Tierney (or Goran Visnjic. Or ER.)
When news was circulating around that Maura was in talks to replace Joely Richardson in "The Whole Truth," (which has now been confirmed), it was also rumored that Julia Stiles would be joining the cast of "Dexter".
I would love to see Maura in "Dexter" -- a really well-written show, with a great cast, and absolutely captivating storylines. It would certainly be something different for her. And it's definitely one of my favourite TV shows, at the moment.
I'd never really given much thought as to what I'd like to see her do next, but I agree with everyone who has said that she deserves better than to be someone's obliging sister/wife/friend/or whatever it may be. Really, I'd settle for any show on a cable network. That's where the quality television is.
Hopefully, "The Whole Truth" is received well. I'm really looking forward to seeing her portray a lawyer. I've mentioned to other Maura fans, however, that I don't really think it's the right climate for a new legal drama, but fingers-crossed it all works out.

Since things aren't looking too good for the future of TWT I thought I would revive this thread.
Did anyone see the play "August, Osage County" when they were in New York? It's going to be made into a big movie and Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are now in negotiations for the lead roles. What I didn't know but read yesterday is that the director is someone who has worked with Maura for many years, highly respects her, and really seemed to love working with her. Apparently JOHN WELLS, ER's executive producer and sometimes director, is going to direct this movie.
When I saw the play I thought the role of "Ivy" would be perfect for Maura. Probably unlikely to happen, but since the director has some say in casting I wonder if he would consider Maura for the role. I definitely think she has the talent and beauty to play Meryl Streep's daughter and Julia Roberts' sister. How cool would that be?

It's funny, because just the other day a friend and I were discussing how we'd love to see Maura work with John Wells again. Or at least in one of his projects, because they are always good. He has a knack for incredibly well-made entertainment.
I haven't seen or heard of this play, but if Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are contenders, and John Well's is directing, I'd say it's going to be a pretty great project. I would love to see Maura take part in more films (and I don't mean "Semi-Pro"absolutegarbagecrap-type films). It surprises me actually, that she hasn't been snatched up and appeared in anything that's received critical acclaim -- not that that's important.
I actually just mentioned to Tara how incredible it would be to see her win an Oscar. It does only take one role...
Anyway, I would still love to see her on a show like "Dexter" or "Breaking Bad," but really I just want to see her in something that's appreciative of her talents.
Good idea, littlewonder, reviving this thread.

I'm greedy - I want it all, for her and for us. A brilliant cable show that racks up Emmys and accolades like there's no tomorrow; a movie that wins her an Oscar; and a play where we can all go and see her perform live.
But in the meantime, I'd just settle for a really quality project that gives her a chance to do what she does best.

Maura on "Mad Men" in the '60's style clothes would be awesome. No idea what she would play, I just think she would look good on that show.
A guest apperance on "30 Rock" would be great too, please read this Tina Fey.

Ooh, I like the "Mad Men" idea. I've only watched about half of the pilot, but there's something about her in the 60's clothing that is very appealing.
Not to mention the fact that the show is very well-written, among other things.
"30 Rock," would be fun, too.

"30 Rock," would be fun, too. Yes, please. Tina Fey said she loved Maura on 'Baby Mama' and OMG 30 Rock is amazing! The live episode was EPIC!

Wasn't that live ep awesome, I was shocked to see Julia Louis Dreyfus as another version of Liz Lemon. I would think Maura would be interested and if Tina wants to work with her again, Tina would write it up and get Maura on the show. I could see her as Liz's sister or a TGS cast member or just some crazy character who's on a totally different planet. With 30 Rock it will be something insanely great.
Since Jack is involved with Avery, there is not much of a chance for her to play a love interest for Jack, but that would be fun too.

You girls made me remember Kristin Chenoweth´s speech when she won the Emmy (and pushing daisies was cancelled): “I’m unemployed now so I’d like to be on ‘Mad Men, I also like ‘The Office’ and ‘24.’” LOL
I still wonder if "prime suspect" project is alive.

I watched both versions (the east and west) and they were both awesome I'd love to see her as Liz's sister, but she doesn't have one :/

Since we now know that TWT is 13 and out, what does everyone think of Maura filling in for Steve Carell when he leaves "The Office" at the end of this season. I think she's got the comedic chops to do the dry comedy & the broad physical comedy seen on the show.
