My new fic..... a little background information.. for the first couple chapters.. It is mainly Abby. At the moment she is 6... but.. the rest of the fic.. will be about kid luby. 10 and 11 years old. I thought of this while watching 'My Girl' like.. how Vada and Thomas Jay are best friends... Luka and Abby will be best friends... here we go:
Chapter 1: A Princess, A King, And, A Witch
Somewhere down the road lives a little girl. She sits on her bed, looking out the window, listening to her mother scream... and who was she screaming at? No one else was here. Another voice starts shouting, and the little girls face perks up. "Papa." She whispers to herself. Smiling, she jumps out of bed, and out her door. She races down the hall, and then stops at the top of the steps. "Papa!" She shouts. The man stops yelling, and turns around. A huge smile across his face. "Abby!"
She hops down a few steps, and then jumps into her fathers arms. He twirls her around in a circle, kissing her over and over again. "What are you doing up?" Her mother asks sharply.
"Calm down Mags.. give the girl a break. I just got home... she hasn't seen me in two weeks."
"No, Eddie. She needs to go to bed."
Abby just looks from her mother to her father... Maggie starts yelling at him, and she tightens her arms around his neck, and rests her head on his shoulder.. just waiting for them to stop... wishing for them to stop. A loud cry comes from up the stairs, and Maggie groans. "Now look what you've done! You've woken Eric! God, I don't even know why you come home!" She doesn't leave him time to answer. She storms away, and then up the stairs... Abby lifts her heads, and looks into her fathers eyes.
"You are why I come home." He says, as he gives her Eskimo kisses. "Now, lets get you to bed before your mom starts yellin again."
Still holding Abby, Eddie goes up the stairs and into her bedroom. He switches the light on, and then drops her onto her bed, pulling the covers up. He tucks her in very tightly, so she can not even move, kisses her head, and begins to walk away. "Papa! You tucked me in too tight!"
"Too tight? looks ok to me." He says.
"I can't move!"
He laughs, and walks back over to her, untucking her a bit. He sits on the edge of her bed, and strokes her head. "What shall it be tonight my princess?"
"Both!"
"Both?"
"Yes, both! Song first. Then story... please papa?"
"Anything for you."
"Yay!" She says, clapping her hands together.
"Me, me, me, me, me, meeeee." He says warming up. Abby giggles and waits patiently for him to start singing her song. The song he wrote special for her. He would always sing it to her before he went away, and when he came home.
"Daddy's little girl paints the world with her magic wand
Daddy's little child breathes new life to the morning time for me
Though we're apart, her thoughts follow me
When I come home, Abby smiles with the dawn
Abby smiles, and she radiates the glow around her halo
When she plays, Abby smiles
On a summer day, Abby smiles
A new day, Abby smiles
Daddy's little girl ties a ribbon around my heart
Daddy's little child waves goodbye to the ocean tide that sweeps me
Though we're apart, she's a part of me
Abby smiles with the dawn
Abby smiles and she radiates the glow around her halo
When she plays, Abby smiles
On a summer day, Abby smiles
A new day, Abby smiles
When I come home, Abby smiles with the dawn
Abby smiles and she radiates the glow around her halo
When she plays, Abby smiles
On a summer day, Abby smiles
A new day, Abby smiles
When the days have gone grey,
Nothing's wrong when Abby smiles"
As he finishes out, he looks down at her.. at her big chocolate eyes.. at the glowing smile across her face. At her light freckles on her nose. And a sadness fills him. He feels a lump forming his throat, and swallows it... He won't let his little girl see him upset.
"How was that?" He asks.. putting on a smile for her.
"It was good."
"just good?" He says tickling her.
"I meant to say... wonderful!" Abby says throwing her arms into the air.
"That's what I thought."
"Story now.. pick one off the shelf."
"Actually.. I'm going to make up a little story... ready?"
"Yes."
"Ok.. Once upon a time... in a far away kingdom, there lived a beautiful princess, named Abby... and.. Abby's father was the greatest ruler in all the land. King Eddie. One day, as the king watched his little princess play , the evil witch...
"Maggie!" Abby said.
"Yes! the Evil witch Maggie, came to the king... and told him that she was going to take the princess away!"
"Oh no!"
"But! the king wouldn't let that happen! No! No one would ever take his princess from him. He told the evil witch to leave his kingdom. But she didn't listen. She told him if he didn't want his princess taken away... then he would have to leave. "No!" the king shouted. "You will never separate me and my princess!" The witch laughed at the king. "I am the all powerful Maggie! I can do anything! You must leave King Eddie. You must leave, and never return. Or.. I will take your princess away, and lock her up.... in the highest room... in the tallest tower!"
"What will the king do papa?"
"Well.. my darling, the king had no choice... He couldn't have his princess locked up in a tower.. so he had to leave... He packed his things, and put them in his carriage..."
"Pulled by white horses?!"
"Pulled by white horses... the princess ran out, and begged the king not to go. "Don't worry my little princess." the king said. "this is not forever. I will come back for you." Then the witch appeared.. "This is my kingdom now, you must leave." she said. The king hugged the princess, and kissed her. He got in his carriage, and then left his castle.. and his kingdom. and his princess... the end."
"Where is the happily ever after?" Abby asked through a yawn.
"There is no time for happily ever after tonight. You have to sleep now." He kissed her forehead, and pulled her into his arms hugging her tightly. When she snuggled back into her pillows, he pulled the blanket up back around her, and walked to the door.
"Time to blow out the lights. ready? 1.. 2...3...." She blew toward the light on her ceiling, and at the same time Eddie switched it off. The light from the hallway came in through her door, lighting her face. "Goodnight Abigail, I love you."
"Goodnight papa."
New fic. and of course.. I once again couldn't get it from the thoughts in my head, down in writing.. as perfectly as I wanted to. In my mind, if was really good... The song Eddie sang, is originally by Jesse Spencer. Its called 'Molly Smiles' and it is in the movie "Uptown Girls"
Keep Going?
