Hey guys, these are some spoilers I found on the Abby Lockhart fan club. I don't know which episode they are from though. Enjoy.
Dubenko gets a "lapdog", an offbeat surgical chief resident named Schiff, who's very smart, devious, and a "nasty". He appears in 5-7 episodes starting in ep 3.
Pratt gets a love interest, a 40ish woman named Angela who's the acting chief of staff until a permanent replacement for Weaver is found. She appears in 5-6 episodes, starting in ep 3.
Gates' father is a rough ex-military man and a drunk who's on the losing end of a barroom brawl when we first meet him in episode 5. He'll be around for 3 episodes.
AND...Abby's father... His name is Jim, he's in his early 60's, and is rugged and cowboyishly handsome. He claims to be visiting a sick friend in the hospital, but is ill himself. Abby's drawn to him and tries to help him with his illness that he's neglecting (unspecified). She gets drunk with him one night and he tells her that he's her father. It's for an unspecified number of episodes, so I'm guessing it will be the bulk of the season, like Maggie in season 7.
Very interesting. Clearly then, Kerry takes the fall over the Clemente mess. I hope she is able to be an attending back in the ER and maybe we'll see more of her and she has a personal life...

I read those before. I really want to know what happens between Abby and her father and what causes her to drink again.

But what makes me curious to know is why is she with her father? Shouldn't she be with Luka and Joe??? Weird.

Hmmm...surmising on the father bit.....typical Abby insecurity angst might leave the baby care to Luka for the most part.....especially if she is suffering from any level of postpartum depression. If she is back to work it would be added stress. I could definitley see her using the bottle as an escape....but I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN....no matter how much Maura seems to enjoy acting that kind of role. Sheesh....alcohol been a part of nearly everything I have seen her do.

i was thinking the same loopyallie, especially since she's had a hysterectomy/c-section i would guess its more likely to be at the latter end of the season.will be interesting though to find out the timescale of the second episode"graduation day" as i think it may be spread out over a few weeks.

I wish I understood the whole 'residency' thing. When a resident dr. takes of time for maternity leave, does it put them back into R-2/R-3 status longer than their 'classmates'? Is residency based on how many procedures they perform or something? I could see Abby getting back to work as soon as possible in order to procede on the residency steps....

Hmmm... Good question! I remember what happened with Deb when she got pregnant and she was disqualified from becoming chief resident, because she had taken time off. But from what I hear it sounds like Abby might be coming back to work kind of quick. Maybe she is thinking about taking more time off for when the baby gets home. I mean, obviously she will take some time off, but I think that maybe she just might return a little more quickly than others would to save the time for later.

Oh, my. I hope that her father, Jim and Abby come into the end of the season. And i don't think she would come back very soon, seeing that her baby was very sick. Anyway, i think at the end of this season Abby and Luka will get married, or at least i hope.

Anyone want to speculate who they might be signing to play Abby's father?? Cowboy handsome??? Makes me think of Sam Elliott....Robert Redford in 'The Horse Whisperer'....maybe even Tom Selleck....but they are all a tad too old....aren't they?

New minor character...
Putting the ER in 'preacher'
OOPS, maybe that should be the other way around. Pitch Black's religious man Keith David is joining the cast of NBC's long-running medical drama ER as an inner-city preacher next season. Reuters reports that David's character will work hand-in-surgical-glove with series regular Dr Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) to help members of his congregation get through the complexities of the US healthcare system.
David has a strong sci-fi resume, having appeared in John Carpenter flicks The Thing (as the only other "survivor" with Kurt Russell) and They Live (remember that huge alley fight scene with Rowdy Roddy Piper?) as well as Pitch Black followup The Chronicles of Riddick and the Robert Heinlein adaptation The Puppet Masters.
He also won an Emmy for his voiceover on the documentary Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson.
Fans may also be familiar with another piece of vocal work he did: the titular hell-born hero in the animated series Spawn.

I changed the title of this thread to 'General Spoilers' so spoilers that have yet to get titles or just do not fit into an episode thread can be posted here.
