Hi there... I have no connexion for God knows what reason, so I couldn't come for a little while. But something happened the other day and it became and idea which turned into a chapter which grew into a story. So here's the beginning of it, some other parts are ready but are in need of some adjustments.
Please let me know what you think about it, I know it's a little.... too nice maybe but troubles are on their way... I guess.
Oh and there's a warning for a chapter in this part sooo careful kids, be aware or go to bed... NOW
They had been in Boston for three months now. Luka has been working almost ever since. His hospital was pretty near their new home which was bigger than their previous appartment, with a big backyard. Luka insisted on it, he wanted that for Joe, to teach him play soccer he said.
He would spend three shifts a week in the ER and three more in either geriatrics or pediatrics, depending on the schedule. He seemed to like this new arrangment and enjoy the time he could spend home with his family. Abby had a job back for three weeks and a half at another hospital, still in a ER department, as an attending. Not working together had been a little disturbing at first but in the end it was nice. Nice to have different cases to talk about, different people, different gossips. And if they ever had a fight, it won't come at work, and they won't have to make fools of themselves in front of an entire hospital.
It was saturday night and the girls of her department were having their usual evening together. Abby just wanted to stay home with her guys, but she was the new one and she really needed to go.
- So Abby! what about you? We all noticed the gorgeous ring...
The girls were great. They have been talking about all king of stuff, especially men. Men at work, men at home, men in dreams...
- Well, yes, I'm married. And we've got a two years and a half little boy.
- Are you married since a long time?
- A year and a half.
- And have you known your husband long?
- Almost nine years
- Wow. Tell us about him.
- Hum... well... you know... he's great.
- Great? Oh come on Honey! Mine spend hours and hours watching TV, sports chanels, but never ever do anything about sport. He's home before me but never cooks or makes laundry. At least he takes care of the kids pretty well.
- Gaby, you should be thankful. I'm not even sure Harry knows he has a daughter... He cooks, but only for himself given the fact that he's here only in the middle of the night.
- I know Sweetie, I was just giving leads to our new friend.
- I know... So, Abby. Tell us!
- Well, there's not much to say... Luka's major interest is his son. He's a great dad, not too much you know... just perfect. And he cooks.. he'd better because I don't, and it's delicious... most of the time"
She smiled at the memories of overcooked meals of him. That's usually what happened when they were caught in love rounds before dinner.
-" For housekeeping... well it depend on who's working, but he's on it as much as I am. I think his only addiction is to his old Playstation 2. But he tries hard to play when I'm not here and only if our son is sleeping. I thought it was boring at first but he bought games for us to play together and I have to admit that I kinda like that. And I really prefer knowing him playing cars safe at home than in the streets.
- What is he doing for living?
- He's a doctor too. The other side of town.
- Damn!! Does this guy has any defaults?!!
- Oh yes! He's stubborn like hell, and overprotective, and when he makes his puppy eyes, you just can't say NO to him, and he knows it. And... Speacking of him, it's getting late. I'm going to call him so he can pick me up.
- He's coming here?
- Yeah! I think he doesn't want me to be wandering in the streets after nightfall! As I said... over protective.
All the girls looked at each others. They were definatly going to wait for him to show up. The man was either ugly or inexistent.
They then started speacking about everything, work, kids, fashion... But she didn't pay any attention. All she could do was thinking about this wonderful man she had in her life. Listening to the other wives earlier made her realise how lucky she was to have found such a man. And nonetheless, he loved her. She knew it. He was a talented doctor, a perfect father, an overwhelming husband, a amazing friend. He made her "feels". He brought her to life. He made her a mother and if it wasn't for him, she was pretty sure that she wouldn't have keep the baby. He reassured her by beeing here, even if she didn't know it at the time... She could remember the day she went to see Janet at her practice. She was sure of herself. She couldn't have a baby. What if it didn't work between them, she knew she couldn't raise a baby all by herself, she wasn't strong enough. And what if it was bipolar? She couldn't have had handle it... again. As she was sitting in the waiting room with ecxtating parents, kids playing around, doubtful pregnant women, she thought about him.
From the second she laid her eyes on him she liked him. Then she learned to know him and his kindness, his soul, his heart. They got her. All of her. Still, she wasn't ready for this the first time they dated, and maybe he wasn't either. But now, they were older, more stable in a way, demons had been fought back for both of them. Of course they had stories with other people but they always came back to each other. And even when they weren't connecting a lot, as he once said, she knew that they could always count on each other. Like when Brian assaulted her. He proposed her to live with him as long as she needed. And when so, he was the most perfect friend. He never tried anything and even tried to make it as easy for her as possible.
The night where she came to see him in his appartment after Sydney, a kidnapped, abused and then shot little girl died, she was mad at him. NOt only at him. At every one and averything. How can someone do something like that to a child? "Play married game", hurt an innocent soul that much. How can an human beeing do that? She'll remember the sobs of the little girl talking to her mom for the first time in a month after everything she's been through... Luka and Clemente had been fighting over her, both wanting to save her but both wanted to be right about their theory. And during the process, she died. A ten years old little girl died. Yes she was mad at him and she was upset, and broken. She showed up and she saw how ravished he was too, but on his own. That was Luka, staying alone when things turned wrong. He kissed her out of nowhere, taking her face in both his hands and then letting his lips barely touching hers. He tasted like bourbon, telling her that she was right, he was as upset as her. And she needed him. She was the one who took things to next steps and they both ended in his bed, making love, looking for comfort in each other's embrace, the only place where they knew they would find peace.
Did she love him? At first she wasn't quiet sure. It was a tough question. Another of their chats came back to her mind. It was just after Sam left him. Hard time. She had found him at Ike's, drinking biers. She took him back to his appartment, driving his car for him. He was drunk enough to let things slipped out of his mouth. Words he would usually have kept for himself. And she was there to receive them. All of them. And he asked. He asked if anyone would know who he was if he was injured as much as the guy walking in the ambulance bay earlier that day. And she replied without even thinking about it because it was how she truely felt. Of course she would. She would know who he was, she would recognise him no matter what. No matter where, no matter when. She tried to take this back as soon as she said it. Thank god he was already drifting away into sleep... But she had admit it. Yes of course she loved him.
When she exited Coburn's office that day, she needed to walk, to think about that one decision that would change her life forever. And not only hers. She almost jumped as she heard his voice from behind her. He knew her damn well. Her heart missed a few beats when he told her that despite the abortion, he wanted to be with her, not to lose everything that they had. He wanted her, even without the baby. She knew at that moment that keeping the baby was the best decision of her whole life.
Her revery faded as Angela's voice came up, almost screaming.
- Girls!! Target at noon! My Gosh... It's the hottest guy I've seen in quiet a while!
Angela. A single resident. She was looking toward the doors of the cafe to a tall handsome man. He wore blue jeans and a white shirt. He was scruting the whole room taking small steps inside. Angela's voice came again.
- Sorry girls, this is my call, I've got to try!
Abby stood up and chuckled.
- I don't think so Angie.
As everyone turned to look at her, Annie started
- Don't tell me it's...
Abby didn't bother answering
- Luka!
She yelled, waving at him.
He quickly turned his head toward the sound of his name and a huge smile spread across his face as he saw her, his eyes litteraly lightening in a fraction of sec.
He walked in her direction and step in front of her, benting and putting a light kiss on her lips.
- Was it fun?
- Yes, very.
She turned her back to him to face her co workers.
- Girls, this is my husband: Luka; Luka this is my new friends: Annie, Teï, Angela, Gaby, Allison and Kate.
He raised his left hand in the air, waving hello to the group, as his right hand came to rest on Abby's hip.
- So, Luka, do you want to join us for a last drink?
Teï asked.
- Hum no, no, sorry. We should go home, the babysitter's waiting. But it will be with great pleasure another time!
- How's Joe? Abby's asked, taking her purse and coat
- He's ok. Ate well and fell asleep pretty fast with only one story.
As she was all settled up, she turned back to the girls.
- Thanks you for the night girls, I'll see you on monday morning.
- Bye everyone, Luka added
They both turned around and Luka took her hand in his, driving her to the door.
- They seem nice.
- They are, even if I know that you'll replace Tom Cruise in their fantasms from now on...
He looked at her puzzled. She laughed at his face.
- I love you and I'm so lucky to have you
He smiled at her.
- I love you too... but... Is Tom Cruise in your fantasms too?
She grinned
- Tom Who? I dunno any Tom... My fantasms are about a handsome, tall, dark croatian guy. And You'll have a hard time trying to replace him... He's been around for ten years!
He laughed
- Well, I can live with that.
They arrive home twenty minutes later. Christin, the babysitter was reading a book on the couch. Joe as been asleep ever since Luka put him in his bed. They paid her and she left, leaving the two of them all by themselves. Abby went to check on Joe, her beautiful little boy she had missed all day and evening. She looked at him for a while, somehow relieved each time he took a breath. She smiled even more when she felt strong arms sneacking around her wraist and lips kissing the side of her neck.
- Not here Tom! My husband is next door...
she felt his lips curved in a smile against her skin, her hand stroking his hair, holding him close in the process.
- Shut up!
She turned in his arms and kissed him.
- Don't you sush me, big handsome croatian fantasm of mine, and take me to bed.
And so did he.
It was a liitle after 1AM. They were both lying naked in their bed, legs intertwined. She was spooned at his side, her head on his chest, his cheek resting on her hair, his right hand holding her close, stroking her back, hers tracing soft patterns on his chest and belly.
- Luka...
- Hum...
- I never thanked you.
He frowned
- For what?
- For... For beeing you I guess...
He smiled
- What are you talking about?
- Luka I could never have imagined having such a wonderful life. A real nice house of our own, a beautiful son, a job I love in a city I already like, and... and nonetheless, I'm having mindblowing sex with my breathtaking husband.
- Mindblowing huh?
- Yep...
She answered smiling.
- Abby... You'll never need to thank me for anything. You gave me the exact same things you describe earlier. And more. Like Hope.
She raised her head to look at him.
- No thank Yous?
- No thank yous. Just love. That's all I need.
He kissed her, leaving his hands drag her a little more on him. They were starting to lose control again when a loud noise, something like some glass breaking came from downstairs. They stopped and looked at eachothers, puzzled.
- Did you hear that?
She nodded.
- Think it could be Joe?
- No, we would have hear him passed our room.
- I'll go checking.
He got up and she moaned at the loss of his heat.
- Be quick!
He smiled naughly while stepping inside his boxers. She watched him, detailling every muscle as he did. Oh yeah... Breathtaking. He was about to get out of their room and the same noise came again, louder this time.
- There's something wrong Luka...
He could see she was getting scared, and honestly, so was he... a little.
- I locked front door when I came back, did you lock back door before getting up?
- Yes Luka, I did.
- Ok, stay here, I'll be back.
He took the softball bate against the closet and went out, closing the door on his way.
He first checked Joe's room. The child was there, sleeping soundly. He closed the door back and turn around, making his way passed their room and toward the stairs. All the lights were off. He walked through the steps, carefully, holding the bate in the air, just in case.
Nothing moved inside the living room. He heard something in the kitchen and started going there. He waited a second before stepping quickly in the room while switching the light on, holding his weapon strongly. The intruder stopped, looking at him.
- Oh my God... what the hell are you doing here!
Back upstairs, Abby was getting more scared by the second. She couldn't hear anything, and maybe that was the worst part. She was sitting on the bed, her knees up, just like a little girl affraid of the monster in her closet. except she wasn't a little girl and the monster was downstairs with her husband.
- Luka...
He should have been back by now. Something must have been really wrong. Maybe he needed help... She couldn't stand staying here when he was maybe in danger. She threw the covers away and was about to get up when the door started to open. Slowly... Then wider... and wider.
She froze.
- Oh my God...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
DO YOU TRUELY BELIEVED I WAS GOING TO LEAVE YOU LIKE THIS?
WONDERING WHO THE HELL THE INTRUDER COULD BE?
WELL NO... THE STORY IS WELL ADVANCED BY NOW SO I WON'T LET YOU WAIT.
I HOPE YOU'LL ENJOYED THE REST OF THIS STORY
---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Well, I think I should thank you after all. For that dear little furry thingy you let be a part of this family and who so wanting to get out hunting that he found nothing else that put a vase and two wine's bottles on the floor.
- Luka!! You scared the hell out of me!
- Hey! Your cat scared me first!
- He's not MY cat!
Luka put the pet he was carefully holding in his arms on the bed where it quickly went to Abby, putting his little head in her hand.
- No, Of course not... He's obviously NOT your cat!
He laughed and sat next to her.
- ... And there's no need for me to remember you that YOU feed him in the first place right, Mrs Kovac?
- Oh, maybe, Mister-we-can't-let-him-like-that-it-must-hurt-like-hell. But should I remember you that YOU were the one who brough him to the vet and agreed to keep him home during his recovery?
- Oh come on Abby! He was leaving in the street and his finger was open fractured! The vet said he needed a clean place to stay after the surgery. It was us or the pound! What was I supposed to do?
- I never said you did wrong! I'm just saying, it's more your cat than mine...
- It's not! And you agreed to say that it was good for a child to grow up with a pet. And You were the one saying that now that he was used to us we couldn't just turn our back on him. I believe those were your exact words.
- Luka... Joe had found a name for him, how could we explain him that we weren't keeping him now? By the way... he's so cute when he calls the cat over and over.
- Yeah well, he says it more ofter that Mommy and Daddy... It's Finger here, Finger there. Finger this, Finger that.
- I think we just agreed it's Joe's cat right?
- Yes I think we did.
- I'm thinking about blaming him on the morning because his cat interrupted us doing something very important....
- Absolutly Ma'am... And right now we should go back to it.
He came above her, kissing her forehead and then her lips.
- So... Where were we?
- Well, to begin with, I believe you had nothing on, so lose this.
she said as she slipped her fingers under the wraistband of his boxers and tugged at them. He helped her and quickly removed his shirt she had passed on while waiting for him. He focused his attention on her breasts and she was soon, moaning and clutching at him, everywhere she could reach. He settled himself closer to her.
On Luka's pillow next to her head, a little abandonned red and white cat, with yellow eyes and a missing finger, was looking at them very carefully, probably thinking that despite their weird behaviour when his two new friends were in that thing they called bed, they were cool humans the rest of the time, and that he could get used to them. And surely, judging by what they were doing right now, they had a lot of love to share. And so did he. He put his head between his paws and closed his eyes, the soft noises beside him driving him to sleep.
A while later, Luka was desperatly trying to catch his breath, drops of sweat covering his forehead. He felt her hands lovingly stroking his neck and back, slowly bringing him back to earth. After another few minutes, he inhaled deeply in the crook of her neck and moved carefully off of her, both rolling on their side. He spooned behind her, as close as he could. His left arm was around her, stroking her side, then her belly and her breast. He kissed her head and moved his hand to the furry animal just inches from them. Finger opened his eyes at the soft contact, and opened his mouth as a sound escaped from it, something Luka interpreted half as a "welcome back" and half as a "Let me sleep". Abby's hand came to join his, petting the animal's head.
As sleep claimed them, they both though
"Joe's cat... my ass! It's MINE!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------
- FINNNNNNGERRRRR!!!!
A little storm entered their room and jumped on the bed where Abby and Luka were both fast asleep... until now. Joe. He was a morning kid. Like his dad. BUt sometimes, Luka wished he was more like his mum, sleeping a little more through morning hours...
The three inoccupants of the bed stirred, the cat yawning widely while arounding his back and welcoming the little boy's hand on his fur. Luka rubbed his face and unwillingly untangled himself from his wife.
- Hello there! You slept well Joe?
- yess. Daddy finger and I hungry.
- I know, I know... I'm coming. Go kiss you mum while I'm getting dressed ok?
Joe crawled toward the bump under the covers that was his mother and started sneacking under too.
By the time they were both laughing, Luka was up and dressed into boxers and T-shirt. He turned around the bed, took his son in his arms and kissed Abby.
- Time to get up beautiful. We have a hard day ahead of us, beginning by feeding the monsters and go shopping.
- Ten more minutes... PLease...
- I give you five and then, if you're not up, I'll bring this little terror into the bed again.
- PLease no... I'll be up.
- Okay. Love You.
- Luv you too.
Later that day, they had dropped Joe for his first afternoon of pre school. And Abby hated to admit that tears had gathered in her eyes when they had left him. But he wasn't even paying attention to them, too occupied playing with all the new toys he could see everywhere around him. Paradise. It wasn't such a big deal for him to see his parents leave. Since he was born he had a few nannys, babysitters, stayed at friend's or neighbour's places while his parents were working so he was used to it. And he knew they will be back, they always did.
It was mid december and they had decided to make profit of this week-end they both had off. Joe's presents. they didn't have agreed on what to get him so they figured they should go and see. But Abby didn't know in what a journey she got herself into... As soon as they entered the first shop, Luka losed it.
- Abby!! Look at that! an electro_magnetic train! With fumes and all!
- Luka... Joe's not even three yet...
- Yeah... right... Oh! This is it then! a pirat Boat! Oh no, no! A garage set!
And it went on and on, in every shop, eevry stair... A few hours later, she just HAD to do something...
- Luka... We're here for joe's presents, if you want some of those for yourself, then make a list for Santa and I'll see what I can do.
She said chuckling.
- Very funny... it's just..
- I know Luka... But you won't miss all of this this time... We have plenty of time. I was thinking about a farm. Look at this one. With all the animals. He loves animals.
- You're right, it's exactly what we should get him. And what about this cat over there, with all the colors and item, he could bring it to school since he wanted to bring Finger there.
- It's a good idea. Really.
- Also, you'll have to tell me about what YOU would want for Christmas.
- Hum... Surprise me. You always did, and I like that.
- I'll try.
- so... I think we're all set.
- Yep.
- We still have a little while before we have to pick Joe up. Have anything in mind?
- Well, why don't we enjoy the afternoon, just the two of us, walking by? The park's close. I'll get you ice cream.
- I can't resist to ice cream...
They just walk together for almost two hours, holdings hands, looking at children in the playground, thankful for that warm afternoon off. As he promised her, he bought ice creams for the two of them and she loved watching him licked it and trying to steel a bite of hers. Life was easy. Simple. She loved him and he loved her and they loved their child. They were living one day at a time without beeing afraid of tomorrow. Actually, she wasn't afraid of anything now. The only thing that could scrare her out of her skull was something she wouldn't allow herself to think about. She WASN'T gonna lose them. Not for the world. They suffered enough for two lifetimes. Now was time for happyness.
They were sitting on a bench. His arms were around her. He was relaxed. So was she. She looked at him closely and she remembered whenhe received a friend from Croatia. She asked his help about a little boy who needed a complex surgery. He was willing to moved mountains for it. And he succeded. She remembered what that women said about Luka, years earlier. How funny and happy he was. At the time, she had almost never hear him laugh for real. He smiled. He giggled. He chuckled. But laughed? No. But now he did. Actually, he was laughing a lot and she wondered how she could have lost so many years without hearing that sound. When he was in another room than her playing with Joe and she heard his laugh, she couldn't help but shiver and smile. It was so good, so enjoyable.
- Penny for your thoughts
- What?
- it means " What are you thinking about?"
She laughed at the memory.
- Oh really? I wonder where you learned that, and from whom.
- Oh... I can't remember...
She kicked him in the ribs and he laughed. God that sound. She took his hand in hers and played with his fingers.
- I was just thinking about... you
- Me?
- Yes. And how much I love you...
- Good.
- Good?
- Yeah, because after thinking you're usually acting. And I want you to...
He came close to her ear and whispered.
- ... love me.
Damned shivers again... And with that she was blushing. she knew it was stupid. They were married for God sakes... But it just amazed her how much he wanted her, how much he still loved her, in every way.
- I love it when you blush
He said with an innocent air.
- Evil! You did it on purpose!
They both laughed. Life. Easy. Simple. All about blushing in a park.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Next monday at work, Abby was busy with a heart attack patient. Despite all the medecines, his heart won't beat on his own again. She was doing CPR and a nurse baged him every three seconds. She wanted to keep him alive a few more minutes, for his wife to come in end see him one last time. She arrived about ten minutes later, with their child, a thirteen years old boy. They both entered the room. The woman screamed and ran to her husband's side, holding his hand hard and pleading him to fight and to come back. Abby tried to explain her that they had try every possible treatment and that her husband didn't response to any of them, that as soon as she will stop massaging his heart he will die. That he was already dead somehow. She was only keeping him alive for them to say goodbye. The woman cried even harder, half whispering love words on her husband's ear. When she stopped murmuring things. Abby stopped the compressions she was infliging to the man's heart. The erratic line on the monitor next to her change to a flat one coupled with a continued sound.
- Time of death: 3.56 PM
She swithched the monitor off and the nurse, took off the bag from the tube in his throat. The only sounds filling the room were now sobs.
- You... can stay with him... as long... as you need.
She was on her way to get out and give them some privacy when she noticed the boy. they all seem to have forget him. But he was here, looking silently at his dad's face. His eyes were full of tears but he didn't allow them to flow, holding them back the best he could. He turn around the gurney, slowly making his way toward his father, the other side from where his mom was crying, her head bent into his chest. He put his small hand on his dad's forehead and stroke his hair back, carefully, as if not to hurt him. This gesture. The same Luka did everynight he was home to kiss Joe on his forehead. The gesture Joe had learn and was happy to do back when his father was taking a nap after a night shift. It was a little unsteady, but it was the exact same gesture. And for a second, the man in the gurney was not mr Hendrick. His hair wasn't blond. It was as dark as his eyebrows and he got a scar on his middle abdomen and the golden ring on his finger matched hers perfectly. A wave of fear crushed inside of her and she
bursted out of the room. She reached a storage room and dialled his number on her cell. HIs voice on the answering machine was like music to her ear. She looked at her watch. 4.21PM , he was still sleeping from his night shift. She'll be home in one hour. She hang up, took a deep breath and got back into the busy hospital.
When an hour later she found herself in front a the house's door, she held her breathe. went inside and almost ran upstairs. Joe's room was empty so she figured father and son were in her room. She opened the door and froze. Empty. The room was empty. She called her husband's name but no answer came. She tried his phone but it was a dead end... dead end... again.
As she regained composture, she saw that the strawler was gone. Luka should have take Joe for a walk or buy groceries. Nothing to worry about. She took a shower and as the streaming water poured on her skin, she realised that these two guys meant the world for her. She'll give her life for each of them without even thinking about it. BUt right now, she needed to see Luka. To see by herself that he was fine. that he wasn't on a gurney in a trauma room somewhere with nasty tubes in his body.
Luka saw that the lights were on walking by the window. Damn. He wasn't supposed to be gone that long. He hurried a little more.
- Abby!?
No answer. He heard the water running and relaxed. Joe was asleep in the strawler from their busy afternoon. He carefully took him in his arms and climbed up the stairs, headed to his bedroom and lowered him in his bed, taking his shoes off in the process. He kissed his forehead, smiling lovingly. He went back down, and quickly settled a table for two. He was making a fire started when she showed up at the top of the stairs. She saw him and stopped. She started running toward him and the noise from her heavy footsteps on the wooden stairs made him turn in her direction. He smiled as soon as he laid eyes on her, with wet hair, only beautiful in her bathrobe, but the smile faded when he took a closer look at her face. She jumped over the last steps and throw herself into his arms. He catched her and held her, knowing she needed it. Her arms were closed so hard around him that he could feel the futur buises on his ribs. But it didn't matter. She owned his body as much as he did and she could claim it anytime she needed or wanted.
When she seemed to ease a little, he tried to ask
- What happened?
- Would you just hold me...
- Of course I would... Just... what's wrong?
- I need you...
- I'm here.
It was true, he was here, against her and yet it seemed like he wasn't close enough. She tugged at his shirt, getting rid of it along with his t-shirt. Her hands roamed over his chest, up and down his torso, behind his shoulders... She buried her face in it, inhaling deeply. There was no smell like his. Her hands travelled down to the small of his back, trying to pull him as close as she could. He didn't move, leaving her take possession of him. He knew she needed this more than talking right now. They'd talk about it later. It didn't mattter when because he knew that they WILL talk about it. So he stayed still, allowing her anything she needed. He felt her hands slide along his sides and join on his belt buckle, working on it fast. The button of his jeans flew open quickly followed by the zipper. The pants fell on his ankles and she took two steps backward, making him stepped out of them. His boxers were next and she couldn't help but press herself againt him. Her touch had long work its magic on him and he's as ready as ever, but SHE had the leads here and he still didn't make any move, naked in front of her, waiting for her to guide him to the next step of her needs. She waited a few secs before taking both his hands and guide them to the knot of her belt. He slowly tugged on one of its end and her bathrobe flew open, revealing her upper legs, belly and valley between her breasts. He touched her with fingertips only, starting to her C-section scar and getting up her body at an incredible low pace, skin barely meeting skin. He took a deep breath as he brushed against her navel, knowing how sensitive she was and that she would have close her eyes by now. He went on his journey, one of his fingers brushing oh so softly against the curve on her left breast on his way up. At collar bone level, his hands met the fabric of the robe hiding the rest of her body. He applied just a little more pressure on her skin and pushed the robe along her shoulders. It slided down, leaving her as naked as he was. His breathe stucked in he throat, he stopped. She was beautiful. More than beautiful. Her eyes fluttered open, making contact with his for the first time tonight. He was concerned about what he saw in it, but that wasn't the moment for questions. Later. When she'll be ready. She pushed him backward, her hands opened on his chest, not hard but nor gently either. She was clearly in control, and that was fine with him. Always has been. He complied until he was flat against the kitchen's wall. None of them were smiling. That was different from usual. Not that they were the goofy style... But lovemaking was always tender, passionnate. Luka was always very concentrated on her. On how to please her, how to make it last, how not to hurt her. He wasn't small on any aspect... and was still pretty amazed that she could fit him in every way. He waited again, his back against the cold wall, her eyes once against avoiding his. He felt her body leaned against his, the contact full between their skin this time. She kissed his chest a couple of times and her hair tickled him, still wet from her shower. He was having more and more hard time to
control himself and he closed his eyes and hand hard, sharp pain slowing him down as his fingernails digged into his chair. She noticed it and took his face in her hands, raising her own head up.
The world around them exploded as soon as their lips met, her tongue asking for the entrance he granted willingly, letting her ravish his mouth. She tugged at his neck and he got the hint, his hand grabbing her and he rolled them so she was the one against the cold wall. He then slid them lightly to the left for her to lie on the spot he was seconds before, a little warmer from his own body heat. The gesture was instinctive, he didn't even have truely think about it, but it brough tears to her eyes. She got on her tiptoes, trying to gain a few inches up to him. He lifted her from the ground and she wraped her legs around him, their bodies crushed to each others as if only one. She shifted a little, untrapping him from between their bodies and next thing she knew, he was slowly sliding inside of her and their lips were still sealed when he swallowed her firsts moans. He moved carefully, pulling back as many times as necessary to finally beeing fully settled in her. Her hands kept opening and closing on his hair and shoulder. He gave her time, all the time she needed, not moving, barely breathing, until she had relaxed and adjust. When she broke the kiss and her head fell back, giving him full access to her neck, with her eyes still closed, he started moving again, supporting her.
She gasped at the feeling, heat finally coming back to her, warming her to her very soul. He lost his lips in the curve of her neck, nipping, kissing and licking at the soft skin. His pace increased, control slipping away as she tightened her grip around every part of his body. He groaned and let his head fell on her shoulder, his hands leaving her body to land on the wall, on each side of her head. A picture frame started trembling as each thrust became more and more powerful. He felt she was getting close to breack point when something vaguely resembling his name escaped her lips and he realised. This wasn't about him, or even them. This time was about her, about something she needed. He slowed, and stopped. She frowned in frustration and search his eyes for some kind of an explanation. He eased the pressure he was applying on her and wrapped his arms behind her back, lifting her from the wall. He took a few steps towards the couch and their eyes closed at the feelings it created. When he reached it, he sat down on it and leaned back, leaving her on top of him. She smiled and let her hand trace his jaw line, his skin slighly scratching. She straighten a bit, settling a little more on him feeling his entire body tensing, his jaw clenching under her fingers. Her hand slide on his chest, stroking his smooth skin until she could feel the scar. That was really him. Her man. Her husband. Her wonderful husband. And there was no nasty tube under any one of his collar bones, no IV's in his arms and the only thing trying to get down his throat was her tongue. He wasn't lying dying on a gurney, he was in the safety of their house, helpless under her, waiting for her, very much alive. She could feel the blood rushing into his veins, his heart beating fast and strong. Suddenly, everything was OK. But fear needed to get out of her body. Tears formed and gathered in her eyes before falling out. He raised and took her in his arms, fear leaving under his soft touch. It didn't mattered that they were intimatly joined, his strokes and touch were loving, caring, easying, comforting but never teasing. After a few minutes, she broke the embrace and look at him. For the first time till the beginning of that encounter, he took the lead, grabbed her face and kissed her. His voice sent shivers down her spine
- I'm here...
He kissed her again, his tongue dancing around hers, not gently. He was here, and now he was going to prove it. He leaned back down, bringing her along with him and rolled them over.
- Right here...
He started moving again, knowing exactly how to bring her right over the edge. Soon, she was panting and repeating his name over and over. He enjoyed watching her for a few seconds before letting go, biting his lower lip as climax hit him too. He collapsed on her, trembling and she welcomed his weight, closing her arms around him.
- How do you do that?
Without raising his head from her neck, he answered, a little out of breathe:
- Do what?
- Making me so happy.
She felt him chuckled.
- Well...
He raised himself on his elbows, gave her a soft kiss on the lips and turn them both on their side, facing each other. He softly push a brunch of hair back behind her ear, his thumb lingering on her face.
- I guess it's because I love you
- Thank you Luka
- For what?
- For letting me use you
- Use me? Well, you can use me anytime you want Mrs Kovac... Anytime and anyplace.
God she loved that naughty smile of his. She stroked his chest, running her fingers through the light hair there.
Later that night, as they were on their bed, she told him everything, the man, his wife, the kid, the kiss, the pain, the fear and now relief and... as exhaustion claimed her
- And... I love you too...
He smiled and kiss her forehead before allowing sleep to take him over too.
Tell me...
Tell me...
