Aida - your picture with Maura was gorgeous! And I loved some of the shots of NY that you put on Facebook - you take really beautiful, professional looking photos! And I'm so happy for Lore and Kathy, that you guys were able to go back and see her again! I think this play has not only been a big help to Maura, but to us as well. We were all so freaked out with worry when we heard the news back in July and now we've been able to see for ourselves that she's strong and healthy and doing great. It's definitely a bummer that the play is over, but as Dianne so beautifully put it...looking forward to the next book. Thank you to everybody who went and took pictures and did recaps for us, and thanks to Maura for graciously letting us all share a little of this experience with her!

Thank you all. Glad you liked, I didn't have anyone else to take the pic. Maura was about to ask someone to take it for us but since everyone else was chatting and busy, I asked her if we could go up the stairs a little bit so I could set the timer right and the camera would be steady, I said I used to do that when I travel alone. She said OK. Then the BAC people turned off the lights! Thank God the flash is a good and poweful one. Kudos for Sony. I had an awesome experience. I almost didn't make it due to hubby's work schedule and son's school schedule. But then I realized I would regret this for my entire life if I didn't come. Hubby is a musician, sings, plays the guitar and drums, [ he says engineering is his hobby ]. So music is pretty much part of our lives on a daily basis. Since the Wooster Group involves music and Maura is a music fan, I really had to go. It was really nice to see her again in action, healthy and HAPPY. Like we talked here, every perfomance is a different vibe and produces a different result in the audience. People react and laugh at the jokes differently every night. I was having fun every time and in every performance I got more comfortable to laugh. Sometimes I noticed people were affraid or embarressed to react to the dirty jokes or dialogue. I noticed the men in audience were more loose to react to everything, the women were more timid. The actors change their tone of voice and the way they say the lines, of course they have to stay in character but their work is different every night. On Wed, April 21st, of all performances I saw, was by far the BEST one. I really had the impression they were playing around and enjoying themselves. All actors were very loose and playful, feeling natural with their characters, which made the result even funnier and more enjoyable to watch. I had never been to NYC during Spring time, all I can say if you want to enjoy a good and glamorous vibe in the city, go during Spring. Not too hot or too cold. Cool and pleasant, and Nature helps, flowers everywhere, which I loved.

Ok. took a nap, played with a toddler who couldn't stop asking for his toys. Thomas and friends was far the fav. one from the list of gifts. So, here is the picture. The ONE and ONLY. I'd like to ask everyone who saves it, please be respectful and DO NOT post it anywhere else. This pic belongs to this forum, me and Maura Tierney of course. Also, you have to cut some slack here. We were in the dark, the BAC people had turned off the house lights, and I had to ask her for a 2nd round since in the 1st I couldn't set the flash right, and I didn't want to fall on her or step on her toe!!! She looks fantastic and thank YOU Maura for being so patient & lovely. yfrog.com/4jtheoneandonlytjThank you for sharing your GREAT experience and the picture! It's sounds so unreal... really meeting her, but I think you'd think the same the moment you met her. I think it's like a day or what later that you think: Ok, I really met her... Or how does that go? I think I'd think I'm dreaming when she's standing right in front of me!

Seems like I remember somebody posting a while back that Andy Dick had gone to see Maura in the show when it was in LA...I follow him on Twitter and found this tweet from him from last month. I can't find the original question since it was so long ago, but I assume he's talking about Maura:
@cheesehead1976 i will tell her hi when i talk to her. i saw her in the play she was in here in los angeles a month ago...she was fantastic! 11:58 PM Mar 17th via web in reply to cheesehead1976

thanks Tara!
some more news about the Wooster Group and DVDS,
Thank you for your interest in The Wooster Group and for coming so far to see NORTH ATLANTIC. We do have plans -- albeit rather distant -- to create a DVD of NORTH ATLANTIC featuring all three of its incarnations (1984, 1998, and 2010). I'm sorry to say that it won't be happening anytime soon, but I'll definitely keep you posted once the archival footage of this production is available even for one of our web showings.
Best,
Jamie Poskin
I wrote Jamie thanks, to Martine's message earlier, and he sent the reply above.

I love Jamie - he's so great about responding to our questions! That is fantastic news, Aida! Even if it won't be happening soon, it's still great to know they do have plans to eventually release a version of *our* North Atlantic! And it would be cool to see the other versions, too. I emailed Jamie a couple of weeks ago to see if they had any kind of merchandise to purchase and he said no, but that they had a few small posters (like the ones hanging up outside the theater, I assume) available for a donation of $50 to the Group. I was hoping they might have some signed by the cast, but he said they didn't.

I said I'd like you to look at the other one too please, this is the picture that inspired me to lose 50 pounds. She looked at it and told me how great that was and that I don't even look like the same person. She signed the picture "Congrats, Maura Tierney" Oh man, that's so sweat of her, giving compliments. I'm really happy you got to meet her again Kathy. B.t.w. You've made me really curious about the pic you showed her

I didn't realize I looked quite this bad. I've lost 50 pounds since then.
