New update!! Chapter 27
“What have we got here?” Kerry asked as she walked toward the ambulance.
“A seventeen year old male, his ID said Adam Quincy. And a young girl about fourteen or fifteen there was no ID on her.” The paramedic stated as he pulled the young girl to the door, and Kerry stepped forward, after sending an intern in after Adam.
“Oh,” Kerry drew out as she looked at the bruised girl in front of her, “that’s Lexy Kovac.” She stood shocked momentarily, before reminding herself that she needed to get into action.
As they got into Trauma room one, Kerry turned to one of the new interns that had been driving her crazy all night and got her attention.
“I need you to go call Dr. Abby and Luka Kovac, and tell them to get here right now,” Kerry told her strongly.
“But, this is surgery potential, can’t a nurse do it?” The intern complained. Kerry shot her a look and she threw up her hands in sarcastic apology.
“Fine, fine, I’ll call them,” the girl said.
“Tell them to hurry,” Kerry called after her, and then she turned back to Lexy. She bent down to Lexy’s ear and whispered, “You’re going to be alright, sweetie. Aunt Kerry’s got you.”

“What?” Luka asked to the person on the other side of the phone.
“What’s the matter Luke?”
“I went to the bathroom and then she left with him dad! Lexy left with Adam and he was drinking. I don’t know where she went. She won’t pick up her cell phone. Lexy could be in trouble, he’s bad news dad,” Luke told his father frantically on the other end. Luka sighed heavily at this news. Then he heard beeping.
“Hold on a second, Luke,” Luka said before pushing the flash button. “Hello?”
“Dr. Luka Kovac?”
“Yes?” He asked on the other end.
“Dr. Weaver told me to call you and tell you to come to the hospital now. Your daughter, Lexy, was in a car accident.”
“What?” Luka questioned in shock, his heart dropping in his chest. “Is she…is she okay?”
“I don’t know,” the intern stated simply, causing anger to seep through Luka’s pores that she had absolutely no concern for his daughter. He hung up the phone in irritation, realizing mere moments later that he had hung up on his son too. He picked back up the phone and called Luke’s cell phone.
“Dad?”
“Hey, I need you to go to your Aunt Susan’s okay? She’s off tonight and I’m about to drop the other children off. I found your sister. I’m going to check on her.”
“Is she okay?” Luke asked him and Luka could hear the worry in his voice.
“I don’t know,” Luka told him truthfully, “but I just need you to go over there, okay? Can you do that for me?”
“Sure.”
After he was off the phone with Luke, he began dialing Abby’s phone. It rang and rang and rang until it finally reached her voicemail; Luka hung up and dialed again.
“Come on, Ab’s,” He begged into the phone. “Pick up the damn phone, our daughter needs you right now, come on!” He got frustrated when it went to Abby’s voicemail again. “Dammit Abby!” He yelled onto Abby’s voicemail, “It’s late; you should be home. Lexy…”
He paused and hung up the phone, and began redialing. “Abby,” he tried again quietly, “Sorry that I got angry. But you need to come to the hospital. Lexy’s there, she’s been in a car accident.” He hung up the phone and sighed. And tried dialing once more….
