Not sure if there is already a tread for this, so i delete this if so.
I know we haven't finish this season but as season 15 is ER's final series, what are you thoughts on how it should end...? what would you like to see..? what wouldn't you like to see...?
Firstly, i hope they don't end any flash forwards. Will and Grace, The OC, Mad about you, Charmed, they all did it and i just don't like them. Friends for me was the best finale because it was closer there and then. You didn't need to see how it all turn out.
so this is how i would like to see the finale. Some sort of drama happens in last remaining 3 or 4 episodes (not sure what?) and build up to a cliffhanger that is resolved in the finale episode. And the final scene should be of a patient coming through the doors on a gurney, all the doctors rushing around, voice overs of past doctors are heard, and the doors close on county general for the final time with the ER end music fading out. Simple not over dramatic and ends on just another day in the ER.
Any other ideas?

Just perfect and I completly agree. No "a hundred years from now", just a regular day in the E.R, after all the storylines have been wrapped (actually, I could go without Sam and Gates)

I think the ending you (Christabelle) suggested is the only way that it can go out - with a sense of things going on etc. Personally I think we'll also have Carter settling down as chief. Or maybe Pratt if he stays, with Carter becoming something bigger.
Can't imagine what the final episode will be though... perhaps they can find a patient who was in the pilot and have them return?
I love the idea of a flashback episode but that shouldn't be the last one. It'd be nice if they could find a way to have people return as well, perhaps a memorial of some kind (not sure what of, Dr Green would have been dead for 6 years, Romano for 5 but no-one cared even when it'd just happened) but again I think that could weigh down the final episode if you have 8 or 9 favourite characters returning.

didn't they do something similar to that already when it was carters last day and he treated that girl with the broken arm who turned out to be someone he delivered when he was a med student?

They did, but I think it'd be a nice thing to use again to wrap up the series and get a sense of time.

Yeah they did the same thing on Greene's last day too, i think. The homeless guy that he treated with pratt was in the very first episode except i dont think the guy wasn homeless then. And Mrs. Raskin was in the pilot and the his last one, and she did have a hangnail both times - once on the finger and once on the toe, and he told Haleah to put a cast on her leg! lol
