"Semi-Pro," starring Will Ferrel, Woody Harrelson, Andre Benjamin, and the amazingly talented Maura Tierney, will premiere next Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
I'm going to try to get off work to go (I can still dream).
The movie premieres in theaters nationwide on Feb. 29.

Wow...Will has been EVERYWHERE promoting this flick....at least in commercials, events and print. Think with the strike coming to an end they will be able to pry Maura out of NYC to attend??? Saw the trailer last weekend (prior to Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus....our theater runs promos on a huge screen in the lobby) and Maura wasn't in it. I guess she (and Woody Harrelson) has the one exchange that trashes Flint, MI so it ought to make her REAL popular around these parts....not!

Isn't tonight the first airing of the HBO First Look. I think it's at 8:45 tonight. According to my Tivo anyway. Also over at IMDB, I think someone saw it and said a part she was in was pretty funny. They said her plot line was unneccesary, but that there was a scene or something that got a laugh. So that's something.

Yeah it says 6:30 AM tomorrow, meaning I'm going to have to wake up early. I've never woken up earlier than 7:30AM though, and I can't find my HBO channel on the tvguide listings (which is weird since I KNOW I've had HBO here before), so yeah hopefully someone can record it. edit - Just checked the listings for Maura on tvguide.com, and it says the Making of Semi Pro will air until Saturday here where I am so I wont be able to see it until then I guess.

With you n the Maura withdrawals. Maybe she isn't such a huge part of the flick and plans to remain in the background. I am seriously looking MORE forward to 'Baby Mama'.....which is already getting some not so hot press. I still think the comedic misadventures of Tina Fey and crew would be more entertaining that what Will Ferrelll has up his sleve. But that's just me. Heh.

Yeah I'm definitely looking more forward to Baby Mama than this one. Still, to be honest, I always end up pleasantly surprised at how much I like Will Ferrel movies. I haven't gotten tired of him like so many others have, and I'm okay if this one is no different than his other films.
I'm thinking this is going to be a lot like his last film Blades of Glory, and Woody's character is going to be like Jon Heder's, and Maura's will be like Jenna Fisher's character. AND Will will be Will like always.

A brief synopsis of Maura's character (from mlive.com): Lynn (Maura Tierney): Underused, seemingly arbitrary former love interest of Monix. Not much else to say, sadly.
Rats. Once again, we're going to see all of thirty seconds of her in a role that could easily be a lead. I suppose her schedule limits her, but STILL - even the critics want more of her, if the above is any indication.
