I'm actually getting worse at this aren't I?!?! I blame exams, again! Anyway, I should be able to update again sometime next week because I don't have school, so you shouldn't have to wait as long this time, though I'm pretty sure I've said that the last few times! Oh well, enjoy! Charlotte x
Once Neela stepped into the elevator, she realised that finding Susan may not actually be as easy as she had first thought; there were so many places within the hospital that she could be. Her first thought was that she could have gone to visit Luka, and knowing that it wouldn’t hurt to check, she headed for the ICU…

In actual fact, Abby had woken upon hearing a surprised gasp, but by the time she had turned over and looked towards the door, there was no longer anyone there. Now she felt confused, because she was sure that Kerry had promised to keep the ER staff away from the ICU, and yet nobody else would come to visit Luka. But somebody had to have come up because otherwise, whoever it was wouldn’t have reacted in such a way.
Neela walking back in to the room looking troubled interrupted her thoughts.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Abby asked her quietly, so as not to wake Luka,
“You haven’t seen Susan have you?” Neela replied, biting her lip nervously,
“No, why?”
“She’s disappeared, and I suppose that I thought it was possible that she could have come up to check on an old friend,” She gestured towards Luka, “even though she, along with the rest of the staff, was instructed not to come up here,”
“I’m sure that I just heard someone at the door a couple of minutes ago, you don’t think that it could have been her do you?”
“I don’t know, but I think that we have to consider it as a possibility, don’t you?”
“Yeah, I guess, we’d probably better start looking then. Let me just write a note for Luka and grab my coat…”
Two minutes later, Neela and Abby left the ICU and walked into the elevator.
“Ok, so if you were on a break and hadn’t left the hospital, where would you go?” Asked Neela,
“Well I think that’s pretty obvious isn’t it?” Abby replied,
“The roof,” They said together, and Abby pressed the button, which would cause the elevator to take them both up to the roof.

Susan sighed and wiped her eyes; she was upset that Abby had seemingly felt that she couldn’t talk to her. No, it felt like she had been replaced by Neela, who appeared to have taken her place whilst she had been away, and that she had only been away for two weeks or so, just made her feel worse.
She didn’t realise that Abby and Neela had joined her on the roof until they were right behind her. When Abby called her name, she turned around to face them.
Abby felt instantly guilty, upon seeing her friend’s tearstained face,
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Susan asked Abby,
“I didn’t tell anyone except Neela,” She replied,
“That’s what upsets me the most Abby,” Susan cried,
“What? That I didn’t tell you, but Neela knew? Do you want to know why? Because she was there at the time, when you were on holiday, and I guess that I thought that the fewer people knew the better,”
“But why would you want to keep it quiet?”
“Oh come on! I’d broken up with Carter like two days before, can you imagine what people would have said had they found out? “
“I suppose so, but it just feels like I’ve been replaced,”
“You haven’t been replaced Susan,” Neela joined in the conversation,
“Neela’s right Susan, you haven’t been replaced by her, I just have two best friends now, and that’s not such a bad thing,” Abby continued,
Susan smiled, and nodded, “Yeah, you’re right,” She said, and put an arm around each of them, “How about we all get to know each other better, and go for a drink sometime?”
“Sounds good,” Abby replied, “Except it’ll have to wait for the time being,”
“Well that’s not a problem, though at least I know why you acted like you did last night, and why Weaver had you signed off indefinitely.” Susan replied,
“Yeah you do, now I hate to have to love you and leave you, but I really had better be getting back.” Abby decided, “However, it has been good to get out, and you can both come up any time now, just please can we keep my relationship with Luka between the three of us, and Kerry I suppose, for a little while longer,”
“Yeah,” Replied Neela, at the same time that Susan replied, “Of course,” And the three of them fell about laughing, before hugging, and then finally stepping back into the elevator to go back downstairs.
